We ended up getting Matri instead.
Even if it was Tevez, he would end up leaving like Balotelli did, Berlusconi wasn't investing anymore, Mediasat put an end on Berlusconi's playground. What caused this disastrous decade, was the selling novell of the club, Berlusconi took it too long to sell... and when he did, selled to the wrong person.

Should have selled to Rocco Commisso.

Costacurta >> any modern defender

Virgil van dijk lmao best defender now
I think he's been under-rated somewhat because of Baresi, Maldini, on the same squad. But Costacurta world class and very durable like his two team-mates.

Talent Level at the top is lower now, prime Pato would be considered 100% world class.

At the same time Leao is an elite player under the same circumstances, comparisons with SES are laughable.

Only one clown is saying SES is more talented and he’s not to be taken seriously

As for Pato, there is a decent argument I can’t lie. His peak was probably higher, but let’s see. If Leao can sustain a run of at least semi decent form for the next few seasons, I’d say he’s better.

Reporter from TNT Sports Arthur Quezada, appears with some inside information, saying that some players at Milanello are not trainning properly and truly missbehaving. He also said that the board of director are aware, but doesn't want to disturbe certain players. He also state that, the entire club knows about this pathetic situation and that Milan's problem its not the coach methods.

This is obviously true

People want to call it bullshit and all to these rumours but really who are you kidding?

There is a reason why this team is #9 and it can’t be all on the coach or the management. This squad while poorly constructed and unbalanced, isn’t a #9 placed caliber.

Theo is probably one of those rotten apples. And honestly we need to get rid of him if we want this team to improve.

One person mentioned that Theo is quite the bad influence even for Leao. And I quite agree with this.

Every meeting is positive but never white smoke. What's there to talk about? Haven't they covered every angle of his possible hiring and what is expected of him? Percentage of control over the transfer market that should be all his as our SD?.

If he believes they're wasting time while waiting on D'Amico Tare may say goodbye and move on looking for another job. And if D'Amico stays at Atalanta like the higher ups have proclaimed we would have to start the process all over again.
"We tried to get the deal done but he decided to go in another direction.

We're happy to announce that Geoffrey Moncada has accepted the position of SD with immediate effect.

We're all very happy with this appointment as he knows the club inside out, the dynamic, and the players."

Furlani probably

Theres always the fact that we have some terrible players, no real back ups in important positions, a lack of depth and poor squad construction to consider when trying to establish why we're 9th... Just an idea.

This same squad was #2 last season so now it’s obviously not just on the management

Let’s be serious.

I have given management a lot of hell. Everyone actually has.

But it cannot be overstated that the attitude of our established players have also been the problem

Will any top club take lameao for 50 million? We need to empty the squad and build around deers.

Our senior players are negative at this point. This is not even year zero lot of trash are coming back from loans.

That was a serious response.

People try to simplify the problems and issues in line with their narrative. People see what best fits their ideas and backs up their thoughts.

We've been mismanaged, bought the wrong players repeatedly, neglected problem areas on the field, had 3 managers in 12 months and saw players revolt an under perform.

Did I miss anything?

With all that in mind I still went into the season with hope, only to watch a complete shit show of a season unfold.

Am I surprised we're 9th, not really lol. We lack so much on several levels.

Am I defending our stars, no. Do I understand there's more at play than Theo being a gearcase this year, yes. Is Leao underperforming, no... If you accept what Leao is and brings. Are management and the players at the root of our issues, YES!

Only idiots would say it either management or players, or blame a handful of players, or Gerry solely. This is a collective fuck up, with upper management massively overseeing it. Our problems are rooted in decisions made and the effects they have trickling down.

That doesn't exempt the players who aren't playing well, or getting results we want.

You're a mostly rational poster, you do understand the more rational posters in here are being objective and knowledgeable it's a shit show at macro and micro levels?

Despite us having a laugh with it...

Or is all this still San Paulo fucking it up for us?

Turns out our management build a quite solid 3-4-3 team without even knowing.

Theo, Leao, Tomori, Mike bennacer most tenured players when the season started

Cull them all and start over.

Sell obvious fodders like adli, thiaw, cheeks, musah, samu :fp:

Pray new players like Fofana, Mexican piatek comes through.

Even Pulisic is dead.

Reality: Deers will be winning cls with Barcelona in few years

Remember Furlani is the chief negotiator and should the Tare talks fall through, D’Amico stays at Atalanta, Sartori at Bologna.

Guess who’s coming to dinner!!

Horribly mismanaged, but it wasn't all summer. Up to the first match day of the season, we actually had a strong squad with adequate backups in reserve if we so desired.
Kalulu, Pobega, Maldini and Adli were all still on our books. It was the madness between then and the end of August that fucked us over. I have no idea what sort of madness this management had in those 14 days, and then we lost Bennacer 3 days later, and the rest was history.

Theo and Leao not taking to Fonseca's training methods whilst Tiji, Pulisic and Fofana were thriving did not help.
Consistently inconsistent defense throughout the entire year did not help.

Conceicao came in to steady the ship, and if it had not been for Gabbia's slip in Zagreb, Musahs dumb red card, Maignan's brainfart on Paixiao's goal in Rotterdam, or Theo's idiocy in the second leg, we would be celebrating 7 games unbeaten against Merda and possibly a UCL Semi-Final spot and possibly three cups instead of just two.

Most, if not all the damage in the league was done during Fonseca's time here, and the ONLY good thing the management have done all season is react to a bad situation to TRY and fix it mid-season.

The blame falls on everyone, agreed. The bulk of it is Zebra and his cronies up top.
What a waste of a 125th Anniversary....

Recall Salad and Adli then address potential starting wing backs... Oh the scenes when Theo reinvents himself in a back 5 lol.

Have management built it unknowingly or are the players actually better than some think but suit this formation.

Did they suddenly get better regardless of formation or were they good but bad in the wrong set up.

Oh the questions and lack of real answers... The maths doesn't lie though, we're 9th yeah?

Whatever obvious non flops and non scams bought under Maldini have turned into poison without alcoholic pioli. Should have unloaded them like gambler.

Current scouting is as terrible with samu, Mexican etc
