How do you determine that Pulisic and Reijnders were dependent on selling Tonali?Mate you're not being fair. Every management has made mistakes on transfers.
Pulisic and Tiji came for around 40M. That's over half of what we sold Tonali for. If we hadn't done that, we would still be playing Messias Jr and Salad as our RW combo and our midfield last year would have been Bennacer and Pobega (Tonali suspended), and likely wouldn't have made top 4 last season. Pulisic Contributed 21 G & A in the league last season alone, Tiji 7 G & A. That's 28 G & A out of 76 total league goals scored. They were responsible for nearly 40% of our total attack last season. We'd be mid-table if not for them.
Even Boban had his Piatek and Paquetas, and even Maldini had his Origis and Ballo Toures.
To say last season's mercato was consistently bad is just disingenuous.
Chuk and RLC cost the same.
Maybe the Tonali money was spent on Chuk, Okafor, and RLC?
Or we could trust Gerry's own words when he said we didn't need to sell Tonali to buy players?
Every management has tranfer failures. Redbird's failure rate is far higher than other big clubs in Italy and previous successful regimes for our club.
