Learn to read. If he was Italian, you‘d have already dropped your pants.

YOUNG AGE AND FIRST IMPRESSIONS AT MILAN
"I've had a very warm welcome and the first few days have been excellent. I came here with the determination to be humble and work hard to learn and improve. I'm young, I know that, but I'm here to show that I can start playing at a high level soon. I don't have a lot of experience, but I know my qualities and I know I can compete at a high level. Milanello has everything I need to be ready quickly."

TECHNICAL QUALITIES
"I'm a central defender who likes to win duels, protect the goal, and direct the defence. I always try to be aggressive, physical, and bring the mindset of someone who wants to win every single match."

THE CALL FROM MILAN
"It was a surprise for me, the day before I had a call from my agent who spoke to me about the possibility of this. But other than being surprised, I am very happy and grateful that the Club believes in me. Everything here is so big and professional, now I know what it means to be part of such a well-organised club like this. Everyone is helping me out and taking care of me."

COACH ALLEGRI'S DEMANDS
"I'm honoured to be able to work with him, and I will be ready for whatever he asks of me. I know he is very talented at working with defenders. I don't mind whether we play three or four at the back, I'm just ready to learn from the coach and his staff."

UNDER 17 WORLD CUP VICTORY
"An amazing experience that has given me a lot of faith in myself and has allowed me to play against top-level players. Now I have to prove that I am at the level of the other players who have established themselves since the tournament, I'm talking about Cubarsí, Echeverri, Estêvão, and others."

EXPECTATIONS
"Expectations motivate me. In a big Club, you know you have to deal with the pressure, and it excites me. I'll let my performances speak for me, and I will work hard for this."

Btw he was pretty good at U17 World Cup. If Allegri trusts him he‘ll be better than Pavlovic.
Hope he becomes the new black Baresi but we really needed an experienced CB familiar with Serie A. Maybe start him out with Futuro or Primavera since the kid has zero appearances in Bundesliga.

And I had not read all that, only that he was surprised that Milan was interested in him. So the learn to read bullshit is not necessary.

so the guy who is bigger stronger and faster than most defenders he will face has no use outside staying out wide and just going 1v1 over and over again

not even mentioning his other abilities
I don't quite get what youre trying to say here

Are you refuting the fact that Leao is weak on headers and shots on goal? Fbref and the eye test can back this up

Watch how Leao gradually shifted his style of play from shooting outside the box to cutting in the wing and passing to teammates in the box. Didn't he even say in interview that he rather assist than score? Or something in the matter

And, in case you are referring to his physical abilities and why would that not fit into a CF role, I remind you that physical attributes play a partial role in an ability as a CF.
You also need grit, nose for goal (I don't believe Leao has that inherently) and be somewhat of an asshole to the defender guarding you.
Lautaro/aguero are midgets and yet could gain an inch for in air and in tight possession to clinch on goal.

Watch haaland/zlatan, despite the fact that they are giants compared to normal players, they also use their physical abilities to push, shove, and gain Corto muso over their defenders. Otherwise, we could just get a football linebacker as a CF if physical attributes are all that mattered.

As a lone #9 Leao would get lost in the mix, as a partner to Santi who looks lost by himself, that's a big ask, and let's see how he'll pair up with Nkunku

Whats obvious is, with Max's 3atb, Leao currently has no other other position than CF/SS

Don't waste your time ,they are obsessed with Intermilan, lurking in the dark to detect any flaw and any occasion to laugh at them, in the end our twins will end above us, very taugh staying Ac Milan fan nowadays
I think Inter beat us 6 times in a row at one point so it was nice that we won 3 and drew one last season, the most positive thing we did.

We advanced to the Coppa Italia final and looked unmotivated and lazy losing to Bologna which took us out of the Europa League. Being a fan doesn't mean you have to suck up to management even when they have proven to be highly incompetent, or defend the club at any cost.

To me it means wanting them to win more than anything and hoping to fill the squad with good players that deserve to wear to the rossoneri jersey.

what I'm saying is he the physical tools to be effective inside the box, we saw glimpses of it over the summer/Bari but that's not any level of competition to be definitive

if we all want Leao to level up then there needs to be a change in his game, the way he plays as a winger will always be inconsistent. Historically wingers tend to move centrally as they age

playing in a 2 CF system is a good introduction for him as he can blend both roles

also you mention Ibra but he wasn't always like that, in his book he talked about how at Juve they drilled him for months to turn into a box player who was more substance than flash. Allegri is the first serious coach Leao has played under who can potentially get that out of him

Because Saudis aren’t idiots and giving everyone huge raises, iirc the Saudi team that wanted him were scrubs not one with stars.

So their offer is probably around Milan salary. Nobody will pay 4m for him  So it’s better to still take Milan salary and stay in Europe

Ok one serious question, where is Adli and what is he doing with his career? :(

He had a good season at Fiorentina, it's simply impossible that he didn't have good offers all summer. His love for Milan will bury him. :head:
He rejected Sassuolo's offer and now is in limbo and out of Milan squad. Not sure if he will play for Futuro but that's a gigantic step down.

Not if we, if LEAO wants to level up, he should adapt his game and work on his weaknesses. Remember reindeer couldn't shoot on goal as well? And look what happened.

Wasnt Leao quoted last summer that he worked on his heading ability with a personal coach during off season, as he recognized it as flaw in his potential? Did we even see him score headers last season?

Low and behold, it's the same Ibra that tries to push and motivate Leao, for seasons. Did it work until now?
Allegri is the first serious coach Leao has played under who can potentially get that out of him
Didn't he also play for Portugal NT? I believe their coach is quite serious as well, and he's a sub LW there.

Also, no joke, and I understand you're not fond of him, but how is Pioli not a 'serious coach'? Guy has over achieved on a massive level.

I understand the hope for Leao as he's our only potential Ballon dor candidate in the squad. I pray that he'll go the Mbappe route of transforming from a LW to a sole CF.

However, the Leao revisionism and 'x coach will unlock him' (as I also mentioned earlier in the summer) is just a pipe dream, the guy has been here for 5 years? And is currently more engaged in Twitch than in his Milanello drills.

I honestly see him as getting buried in the CF/SS role where he has to deal with defenders who'll mark him and give him no quarter.

He’s far too good for Futoro. Given that the first team midfield has been improved I don’t think there is a redemption story with Adli. I would love to see it happen but I do not see it happening.

Should a club come in with an offer in January he should take it and accept his time at Milan is up. He’s still a young player and has the time to prove what he can offer to a team on the field of play.

Sometimes it simply doesn’t work out and you have to find a different route to succeed. If he doesn’t he risks ruining his own playing career.

I noticed he is mostly playing as a LCB in a back four so i dont know if he can pull it off in 3atb.
His highlights are good but i saw one game & it was a horror show.
Kid still young but this is the game am talking about :fp:

I am sorry, but where exactly is the horror show? Unless I completely misunderstand who this guy is on the field  I see exactly 3 mistakes, none of which led to a goal.
1. In the very beginning when he was too far away from Sesko and allowed him to turn around with the ball
2. Around the end when he was 1 vs 1 against Sesko near the throw in line and lost the body duel. That's not really a mistake, but let's count it
3. And the awkward bouncing ball in the end

We see Tomori doing these 5 times a game...

lol Reijnders didn't flip that switch overnight, he was always really good in that regard for Netherlands. I'm actually not sure what happened to him in his first season at Milan but I remember arguing with folks hes good towards goal for his national team

I mean last season is a write off I think, everything that could go wrong went wrong and everyone outside Reijnders was shit. We'll see what to take from it this season

Ibra isn't a coach, a mascot in a suit telling you to be better isn't the same as a coach you connect with. When Ibra was on the pitch Leao played great

Pioli is not serious because hes been a joke at every role outside 2-3 years at Milan. If he was a serious coach we'd have seen something else from outside those lightening in a bottle years imo

I don't think Fonseca was a bad coach like everyone here but he couldn't connect with players who had an ego, he's used to the upstart teams. Allegri has been dealing with these kind of players for his whole career I have hope he can make an impact. By all reports Leao has been engaged with him/the team and hes been training at the CF all summer

na he'll be fine I think, we saw in the opening matches Allegri used long balls into space a ton. So if all goes wrong Leao will still have significant moments which are his bread and butter so there will be some level of comfort. The rest remains to seen

I do not care for Leao to be the ballondor, my hope has always been for him to expand his game and be more impactful. The best way to do that is to add a new dynamic to his game by playing centrally. Wide players like him have those hot and cold moments, look at Vini for the last year or so. The difference with Leao is he has the frame

wow his numbers as an SS

you mean to tell me Milan signed one of the best players to make the new formation work? interesting
I dont know.
But with those numbers we should make whatever formation that will squeeze those numbers outta him.
3421 or 4231 come to mind to accommodate as much as we can from Leao, Puli & Nkunku.

Describe this project Milan Futuro for us.

"Improving young players, improving the team through their development. Helping them grow, with the goal of giving them the opportunity to approach the first team as closely as possible. It's a project that's completely different from the usual dynamics, where everything is focused on results. Results are important for us too, of course, but what matters most for us is how we get there. For others, the priority is to field the best squad you can at any given time. Here, the goal isn't to win by selecting the best individuals at that moment, but rather those individuals who have the best prospects of achieving a certain style of football. In this team, basically, almost all the players can reach at least Serie B, with all the variables that come with it."

We're talking about young players, of course: the average age is very young, certainly younger than last season.

"Much younger, yes. We call ourselves Milan Futuro, but I'd like to emphasize that Milan Futuro isn't just the Under-23 team, but a project that starts with grassroots activity and continues through to the second team, which is the final step in improving these young players. The exchange between the Futuro team, the first team, and the Primavera serves precisely this purpose, assuming that the Primavera will have a roster of under-age players."

A few months ago, Moncada said that for your project, playing in Serie C or Serie D made little difference. What differences do you see between the two?

"Moncada was misunderstood; he meant that it's important to play a different style of football than youth football. However, in Serie C you also need slightly older players to help the younger players, while in Serie D there isn't such a great need. Ours will be an extremely young team, where 17-year-olds will be playing the football of the seniors. We're talking about guys who are technically and tactically more advanced than in their category, but in this category they'll find plenty to suit them: situations and characteristics they'd never find in the youth sector. Physicality, experience, cunning, and cunning. If a boy has potential and perhaps has already gained experience in the Primavera, it's better for him to play in Serie D."

When you were relegated in May, did you already have the idea of continuing with Milan Futuro, or was it a later scenario?

"The value of the project was so clear that before the play-offs I had already received a verbal offer to continue. It was because a certain level of work had been done, a certain level of progress, and a certain level of appreciation. For example, we had three players almost permanently in the first team, Bartesaghi, Jimenez, and Camarda, and Liberali and Omoregbe made their debuts. Others left last month on tour with Milan, some of whom train with Allegri every day. The hope is that these players will get more and more playing time, and I assure you that there are some with great potential in the squad."

Synergy with the first team therefore remains one of the guiding principles.
“Certainly. Another wonderful aspect for me is that it's really as if I were coaching Milan, from the training pitches to the offices to the technological support. It's a rewarding experience. In Serie D, we have a top-tier professional structure behind us. We train at the same time as the first team whenever possible; there's a lot of collaboration and an exchange of ideas. And in view of this synergy, we also have to pay close attention to the mental aspect of the players. We have to help them become men. When a player is sent to the first team, this aspect is also taken into account: some are more emotional than others, some return to the U23s without any problems, while others go to the senior team and get a bit too excited. Sometimes it's not the best player technically who makes the leap, but the best one mentally.”

You'll needed to keep the team motivated this season: Milan Futuro will re-register for Serie C next summer, regardless of their Serie D standing.

"The boys need to understand that achieving team victory isn't just an end in itself, but rather the result of individual growth within the group. In some ways, training is almost more important for us than the Sunday match itself. We focus a lot on ourselves and very little on our opponents. There's no shortage of motivation, though. Just the idea of being able to go to training with Modric... Each of these boys should have a photo of Milanello's Pitch 1 in front of their bed and know that getting to train there is their goal. I always tell them that."

Will Milan Futuro's tactical philosophy mirror that of the first team?

"Generally speaking, we try to maintain a certain continuity in concepts, also through training exercises, so that the players don't feel disoriented. However, other needs can arise: if I have two strong forwards, I'll play both of them. The absolute priority remains growth."

There is no logic Galliani who is 81 years old to comeback . I could understand if he was younger but at that age no reason . Better to try to find someone well connected but younger .
I think we have to bring some of the culture back, its necessary someone with his mentality at Milanello. We can see that Milan is completely lost mentally and specially in self knowledge.

We bought Rebic, Chukwuese and Okafor all in one apparently. Nkunku for sure will be a constant presence in the starting eleven. Happy to have him with us.

I'm still kind lost with Allegri ideas, but I think envolve a lot of RLC, Nkunku, Pulisic and Pavlovic.

The game against Lecce was a classical Milan, people bash a lot, but it was a very italian victory, a very Allegri victory and a very Milan away game victory. Not a fan of the 5 man defense, but we have to live with now, I hope eventually with the course of the championship, this tactical get vanished.

If an injury occurs don’t dismiss or write off the idea that it could happen. 😉

Highly unlikely yes but completely beyond the realm of possibility ? Perhaps not.

We are not short of midfielders . Adli can not replace RLC because it is not that type of player . For that job they just bought Nkunku . Additionally there is Pulisic . He is more Modric replacement but we have other midfield players to do that . Although it is possible it is not probable .

Also by freezing out Adli there is a small chance that he will get it by winter, even 1-2m for him would be plusvalenza at that point.
