Out of curiosity I checked TransferMarket, as I do for every player associated with Milan, and they value him at 40 million so the fact that City made a play for him is not surprising. I personally don't see what's so special about Cambiaso, not a flashy player, but coaches and scouts must think highly of him thus the high cost.

Coaches love players that are stable and get the job done. And if a player can adapt his playstayle and roles even better.

Let's see......Reijnders (70), Mike (25), Theo (20), Thiaw (25) = 140. We spend no more than 20m on players....so that's 7 new players. Yep, sounds about right (big number of signings). Couple of years from now, 1 or 2 of them pull "a Reijnders"....rinse and repeat. We're doomed man. We'd be lucky to end up like Dortmund or Ajax at this point.

Not saying I want him, but I think the true knocks against him are his salary and how much his initial transfer was.

If he had cost 15 million and was making 3 million a year, I think people would think super highly of him, but because he cost 80 and makes 12 he's overrated. Separate those out and he's a pretty good player.
