Ibrahimovic confirmed Milan's appointment of Fonseca.
"He'll be the new coach, it was a thoughtful choice. We want Milan to be able to play dominant football. We studied how he coaches, how he prepares matches. After five years we needed something new. Fonseca is the right man, we believe in him so much. He's the right man."

The smart thing would have been to send Musah on loan to develop when they were considering bringing in Kone. We didn’t have space for a non homegrown/italian in our squad list but we should have 100% loaned Musah out and replaced him with Kone in our squad.

I think with a Kone-Fofana-Rejindeers midfied, we could have 5 to 10 more points and been in Europe now in addition to denying him to Roma.

Real miss
Musah needs a lot of work though. A strong coach that would also be patient and take him aside to mould him.
I am surprised he plays for NT. The mistakes he makes are appalling and at the highest level it really isnt up to first team managers to be expecting to correct.

He plays like an athlete that came from another sport or a street-baller thrust in to professional play. Maybe he can edit himself and learn to just keep things simple; its the only way forward for him.

He plays for USA NT bro. Don’t act surprised.

And if it’s his footballing IQ, nothing can be done.
the world-class stage is not up for someone with low Footballing IQ to rule

Saudis offering Theo 18m a season.

So long as they offer Milan thrice that as a Transfer fee.
His contract doesn't end until 2026

lol you’re saying as if it’s the distant future - it’s next year. If he doesn’t renew, it’s free transfer time.

The fuck you talking about, we're planning to sell him this summer.
If Saudi want to wait a year, fine with me.
We can sell him off to someone else.

#Atalanta CEO (Luca #Percassi ) on the future of #Gasperini : “If he stays? On our part, we have done everything we could do, by presenting a proposal to renew the contract: I think you all know this and we cannot do more than this…”. #calciomercato

Gasperini would probably be at the top of my list if he decides to leave.

I know this is what people would say but if you look at the mids they have historically had they are usually heady players that are average physically.
American players biggest issue is usually their technical ability.

I agree with you on the rest, my comment was throwing a bone to the people that believe he can come good. For me that would be the only way, to play very safe in a setup where he just feeds better players. I believe he was just bought because he is American and it has been a massive waste of money and time.

Gasperini only works if Tare has total control and allows him to cycle through players. If our other directors interfere because of a random bad results and want Gasp gone too soon, it'd be a disaster.
We’re probably at a worse state than when Gasperini went to Inter. He’s not what we need.

We need someone that can drill the basics into these players. Sell Theo and get a defensive LB to balance Leao. Revamp the CB unit. Keep Reijnders and get a good defensive midfielder.

We mostly have a good set of players but some of them have just given up and lost themselves, like Theo and Tomori. I still believe in Leao.

The fact that we can focus on one tournament next season is a blessing in disguise since we can train and learn to play football. Chaos in the summer and fumbling the coaching choice will completely fuck this opportunity up. We need a good preseason to start the season off in the right way, no more pushing decisions until the last moment.

This season was a disaster but it’s over.

This coach carousel in Serie A is already great entertainment.

Hope we have our man when this week is done.

Gasperini or Conte would turn Musah into a beast RWB. Dude lacks all the important tools to play in the middle but possesses all the key attributes to play out wide, especially one that requires physicality like a RWB.

I’m happy with Jimenez as the RB/RWB. Especially if we dump Theo. Him and Pulisic on the right would balance out Leao and a defensive LB.

Hopefully we get a coach that plays midfield trio and we keep Reijnders. That double pivot being stretched in every direction was a major source of problems for us, and having a more defensive anchor (not Fofana) will hide a lot of our weaknesses. We really fucked up not getting a Hjulmand or similar. Hopefully we don’t make the same mistake. We have a midfield unit full of mezzale but we don’t play a system that takes advantage of it.

I can trace back the moment we started fucking up to when Pioli decided to start acting like pep with a crazy 2-3 buildup and 5 players way up high pushing and stretching the defensive line. We stopped playing to our strengths and started forcing ourselves to play the ‘right way’. We didn’t have the players or the coach for it. We needed to keep it simple, play to our strengths and not change for no good reason.

Hopefully Tare understands this and decides to keep the best players (Leao, Pulisic, Maignan, Reijnders) and build the team around them instead of forcing the team to play in a system that doesn’t fit them.

Just a reminder Gasperini takes time to decline and implement his ideas with the team

He failed at inter a she want given enough time.

It could be year zero again before we start winning

I think he would be able to make top 4 next year though.

So, 5 players are basically already gone which is good because the roster is too big: Walker, Abraham, Felix,, Florenzi, and Sottil. We'll save a lot of mney on salaries of the first 4 which should be re-invested in the market.

Out on loan we have Adli, Bennacer, Pobega, Colombo, Okafor, Morata, and Salaemakers. Not sure if we keep Salad or sell him to the highest bidder, Morata is doing well in Turkey and might be redeemed. Adli is a question mark, at one point seemed sure to be redeemed but now I would say it's 50/50. Pobega played little at Bologna and may return, Okafor and Bennacer will surely be back with us, Colombo should be sold as he's been loaned out too many times already.

It's an interesting part of the transfer market, the loan situation. At one time they had a thing called co-ownership which is no longer in effect and I'm glad because it was like an auction between two clubs that some you want to win and some to lose. For us the off-season is more exciting than the playing one and hope we make all the right moves. Even though we sucked I'm going to miss the week-end matches, something that I always looked forward to even if at the end was disappointed by the result.

Choosing between Leao & Theo isnt as simple as you make it to be.
For me it depend on the tactical approach of the new coach.
If its gonna be a winger or a wingback based.
If its the later then I would keep Theo & sell Leao to be honest.
You think we can easily do better than Theo?!

You call "top 4" a year zero? I would take that year 0 and run. With our realities, year zero means fighting for relegation.

Between these two:
1. Sarri
2. Motta

Who would you rather have?
Why?

Prioritizing the departures of Tomori, Theo and Leao over anything else that takes place during the summer. All three of them leaving is like signing Mbappe. It’s the stuff dreams are made of.

Probably Motta.

Both coaches are good. Motta teams seem to be better defensively than Sarri teams. I think our players are more suited to Motta's style which relies more on physicality and constant running and off ball movement. With Sarri they'd have to learn a lot of new fundamentals, not a bad thing but will require more time and more ups and downs.

Motta is a good coach even though his time at Juve wasn't pretty, but that's more of a Juve problem than him I believe.
