Roger Federer is the GOAT
I’m tired of the Maldini bashing that I’m reading. Is it really his fault that Pioli has been braindead at incorporating the new signings. Even a dog can see how talented CDK he is, and Pioli is destroying him.

Pioli is stubborn and sticking to his faves rather than incorporating the new signings. How is that Maldini’s fault?

Unless you argue that Maldini never talked with Pioli on the profile of players he wanted and bought them without consulting him and that’s why they’re not being used, then you might have a point. Still, the new signings aren’t delivering because Pioli isn’t given them any chances

Sometime even a lesser coach can give you short term better results.
Is that what you want? Short term better results? What about long term?

Arsenal didn't fire their coach after last seasons horrible form where they went like 10-15 games the way we've been doing during 2023, and look at them now. Or look at Chelsea who fired Tuchel and got nothing for it with their new coach.

Yeah sometimes there's an injection right after a change of coach, but that usually fades out pretty quickly, what to do next? Now you have two coaches on your pay roll and need to search for a third.

After consideration, I think it's best to keep Pioli, unless there's a top coach/a coach that the management really believes in available. I don't think Pioli's lost the dressing room, which is the only time it's ok to change coaches in panic. Quick fixes are usually not a good idea and is a recipe for failure unless you're really lucky.

I think everyone knows that the biggest issue is the lack of quality players in this squad, not the coach. I just hope Pioli does what he should have done a while ago, shore up the defense and be smart during attack.

Hopefully Gerry vetoes the transfer just like Zaniolo even if it is 'only' 5m...

Owner should not be making transfer decisions, only setting the budget for the sporting management. If he doesn't trust the management then he can replace them.

If a guy like Cardinale starts making the transfer decisions then the club is going go in freefall, much worse than now!

I've never seen this Osario play, but isn't this the same type of profile as Moises Caicedo that people are saying Milan missed out on? Or like Xavi Simons who never played at PSG, but who Milan should have signed??

Maldini picked him and then assembled this squad, the very same things Maldini gets credit for when people bring up Scudetto.

And also gave him an extension earlier this season, when we definitely were less than stellar. That shit was the equivalent of trying for another child to save the marriage.

Boring polemics. What would have happened here in the summer if we had left CDK and given Raiola €10 million commission and a share in the resale to sign Simons, a player with 330 professional minutes.
I didn't read anything about exorbitant commissions. And commisions are not exclusive to signing of Raiola (RIP) players anyways.

This would have been a low cost bet with a lot of upside and virtually no downside.
For free this was a great deal
nice player

Think he will be a regular for the national team for a long period
For sure, he has something special.

The grinta he has and his stats in his first season are not normally seen among technical and creative talents like him.

When Osorio was going someplace else, it was "Milan is missing out on a talent."

If Osorio is coming here, he's fodder that will never play so what's the point?

Pioli certainly has charmed many of us. Have dignity please. Our recent results are unacceptable, even by banter era standard.

Many clubs get a coach to salvage the season where they ditch him when its over.
As it is, we will get eliminated from the CL & not make top four which will be a disaster.

If Leao was smiling like usual during this period they would shit on him for it.

He's not happy because we aren't doing well. You want him to be smiling when things are bad?

For me, best case scenario:

Pioli tries our set up like we did against Torino but with more dynamic attacking options like Origi / Rebic deployed. We at least limp into CL place next season. Then, the management can decide in the summer whether this little stutter step mid-season was a firing worthy offense by gauging the overall mood in the locker room.

I meant that he should veto the transfer for budgetary reasons just like Zaniolo. Anyway, it’s pretty obvious that he isn’t giving Maldini another penny to spend this season after blowing 50m on CDK, Thiaw, Adli, Vrancx etc who never play.

That was Maldini’s biggest mistake, in hindsight he should have waited till the end of the season.

But I’m referring to the transfer market. I blame Pioli more than Maldini. We needed another attacker. I don’t think CDK was a bad buy at all. I just didn’t think he’s not been used properly.

Nope. Consistent CL is essential to the rebuild especially if the owners are not willing to spend out of their own pocket.

Missing CL would be disastrous to us financially as well as the image of our brand. It will make last seasons scudetto look more like a fluke than the product of a conscious and effective project.

By all means...sign Osorio

But we have a manager that is garbage at incorporating youth...so let me ask you this:

Do you want Pioli sacked now or wanna wait? Because I can fucking guarantee you he is not gonna play.

Also, management has a rubbish track record with cheap signings. Just look at the amount of garbage we have collected.

It's just a complete clusterfuck atm.

Sean Dyche is not going to be confused with Sacchi, but I was curious about his tactics:

He makes this opening point at how the difference between what we see as wildly different formations are 5-10 yards of a player's position.

I also think he shows why we play bring swings and long balls, because of how small teams try to squeeze one side.

Lots of interesting insights, even for those who play in Sunday leagues.

Transfer market is all on MMM which affected Pioli since two years ago we were missing one starter & today we are missing three.
Pioli's work doesnt affect Maldini as much as the other way around.
