Thiaw looks like a real CB in the making. If he can beef up he would be very intimidating.

Gabbia is not strong physically nor technically, and he can't really read the game well.

You have to question Pioli's choices when something like this is clear to see.

If inexperience is the issue, then why not pair Kjaer with Thiaw while Kjaer can still walk? Gabbia has been tried in every type of partnership and he always looked mediocre.

That was the worst choice - I mean Giroud starting in that formation was braindead but hey he might get a miraculous touch no matter how astronomical the percentage

As Curupira alluded to, he needs to learn how to use his body correctly to free himself of being held. Then get enough experience playing to see if he can play consistently at a good level.

I was looking at his stats from last season and the season before that. He led his team and was one of the top 3 defenders in virtually every defensive index in the 2.Bundesliga. I don’t buy the argument that he was a panic buy like vranckx. He was obviously heavily scouted. The kid has talent and is composed in defence. It’s ridiculous that he hasn’t gotten chances this season.

We never paid big money to coaches. Who was the highest paid coach ?

Play Kalulu at RB and start Thiaw. Calabria is unplayable right now and Thiaw looks like a real player.

Most of us have the same idea
Start Thiaw instead of gabbia
Start CDK RW
Sart Adli intead if brahim
Start Vranck instead of pobega
Put kalulu at RB instead of calabria
Try vasques instead of tata

But in the end Pioli will deploy the opposite

It has to be 4-3-1-2 or 4-3-3 there's no other way around it. We don't have strong enough midfielders to play only 2 in front of the defence.

If its the first formation then I prefer Leao-Rebic combo for dynamism. If its the second formation then it's Giroud with Leao and Rebic or CdK on the wings. When you want to play more open you bring in an AM for a CM. When you want to close you take out a forward and add another midfielder. It's not complicated.
