Juves problem has been midfield and defense. They lost de ligt. Pogba surrounded by Locatelli and whoever else in midfield will be worse than at United. They need a lot more work to be pretty scary.

ye I dont really wanna talk about them. But Mckennie - Rabiot - Pogba - Zakaria and Locatelli in midfield is pretty good.
De ligt was a problem in their defence.

It is a tactical breakdown of how Milan does what it does. Pioli doesn't create new tactics, but what he does exceptionally well is mixing different tactics. He's using the players we have to press in a way that few teams do, but it also shows why I think we actually probably moved on from Botman rather than "lost him.

This isn't even about sour grapes, it explains why Tanganga would be our first choice transfer target--and why we want to stick with Kalulu Tomori as our pairing. The part about "rest defense" in particular explains this: our defensive style needs speed. Tremendous, insane speed.

Basically, we push up so high, and commit such ridiculous numbers in attack, that we need CBs who can have the pace to maintain our near-suicidal high line.

The other element is how we press: our hybrid between ball and man focused presses mean that the CB comes out to press the free man left in the midfield from our press, and we need pace to pull this off.

Exactly. I'd even take Acerbi as a low cost solution. Defence is fine with the current players. Just need one reliable and decent guy to make it rock solid. Diallo's profile was excellent because he can cover for LB as well but too expensive.

we actually have a better depth as it stands if you ask me.

Yeah of course they can spend, they'll probably get Bremer who might struggle at the back 4. They also need to cash out for another cb. Thats just to cover the defence. They also need either 1 or 2 new wingers and a new backup striker

we'll see how they'll look like at the end of mercato but as it stands, they're nowhere close to us

Growth of our players s underestimated. U cant compare Tonali from 2 years ago to the beast player hes today, or Leao, Kalulu etc. Not to forget they re together playing for a few years. They know each other inside out. Allegri ll need a lot of time to make oily machine with all new palyers. With big question if hes gonna manage to do it. I doubt it.

Allegri typically starts out poorly when he has significant team changes, thought he ends strong. Will see this year. I kind of expect Di Maria to stop caring after WC is over.
