This is starting to look like shades of last year. Galliani just said that most of our targets are too expensive. This is ridiculous. We refuse to spend money. Galliani just said we need a new list of targets that are less expensive, so basically we are going to get some really young or really old foreign crap that nobody knows about. Galliani sometimes you have to spend in order to revive a team. I am one of those who doesn't think much is wrong with Milan but we need 5 players for christs sake, and we've already got 1 in Flamini. Come on Galliani, grow some testicles and stop speaking as if we are a team with a serie B pocketbook.

Did berlu lost all his money on face operations ?

He should splash from his own money 40 mil (euros ) on eto and bring him here,he can make up his money from winning serie a an cl .

And spend another 60 mill to patch up the defence and gk . Juve are the only club in seria a who know how to manage there finances ,we and inter dont ..but altleast merda has a owner that is willing to splash the cash .

I know! I hope Milan will buy two strikers - Etoo and Borrielo are realistic targets, but as we know Galliani he will buy Sheva and Borrielo. Than we need a CB and a LB - Zapata and Zambrotta would be awsome, but Galliani will buy Ferrari and Zambrotta. Than we need a new GK - Galliani will just bring Abbiati back which had quite a good season in Atletico Madrid.

I beg you Berlusca to bring big names, otherwise Milan will be poor next season like this one.

Milan will close the deal tomorrow with Lloris, because Abbiati is official a Palermo player now and I hope they also can find a deal with Dida to go back to Brazil. This asshole said he want all the remainig money to buy out his contract :head: what a shame I think we have done enough for Dida financially. Zambro will also join us Iam sure but that´s not enough... :head: We need two strikers, Eto and Borriello are possible but I hope he don´t bring Sheva back. And for the defence they idiots let Barzagli go to Wolfsburg :head: what a shame our transferpolitic. So we have only one chance to sign Milan material in Zapata and Vargas or Evra but please no Ferrari... and for the midfield they can bring in a brazil player like Neves or Hernanes then Milan have done enough this summer.

can someone explain why we have 0 money? Did milan not spend 22mil on an unproven pato? 30mil on Nesta?! Not to mention 20+ mil on gila.....13-15mil on pirlo? Did parliament freeze berlu's assets? For once I really think we cant blame galliani on this one. I am really starting to get feeling someone is NOT letting him spend money. If he had budget to spend what he wanted and it went poorly, thats on him, but if he cant buy.... then something else is wrong

I dont know why, but like u said in past we spend money for quality players, but in past 5 years its not like this anymore. 30 milions for a player is way too much for Berlusconi and we all know where this will get us (like in last winter when we bought Ronaldo + Oddo and nothing in the summer - aaa....we bough Emerson in summer).

Berlusca open your wallet - you are one od the wealthiest Europeans - prove it!

I think the words of Galliani sum it up. They just wont pay the money needed to revive the squad.

Im losing all faith in our management. If your not going to invest then sell this great club.

Thats exactly what I was reffering to. If they are not willing to spend money there are lots of investors who will spend theirs for the best club in the world.

quite an eventful day. lets run through it.

first off abbiati has denied the move to palermo so at the moment he is staying along with kalac and dida for next season if he does go we will bring in a new GK, loris is deciding who to join tomorrow out of lyon, spurs and us but with abbiati still with us we are probly out the picture.

gila has been sold to fiorentina , i am quite sad but he needed a new club to show his true worth hope he can lead the viola to glory, so now we need two strikers we have raised almost £19mil from the gila and oli sales not sure what will happen to that money but we probably wont spend it on new players. we should get huntelaar for £17mil then maybe sheva or someone else quite cheap i don't mind having sheva back as long as he ain't the big name striker, i would like eto'o who gallinai has claimed too expensive so hes a no-no, borriello's co-ownership thing is on June 25th but i say get it out the way now before other targets are already gone, i don't want borriello but if we can get say eto'o then he came as fourth-choice it wouldn't be too bad but he wants to be a starter which he ain't cut out for.

reguarding the zambro saga there is still £1.5 mil between their valuation and our bid get vargas for around the same price i say.

no news reguaring a new Cb which we certainly need, i know I'm gonna get slated for this but in a way i want maldini too retire so we have to sign a quality CB.

thats it for today back tomorrow to recap everything.

maybe pato will now get his #11 which he wanted if he does he on my new shirt next season.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani confesses that many of the Rossoneri’s targets are too expensive, but continues to search for new recruits.

After the disappointment of finishing fifth, Milan now must rebuild as they look to reassert themselves as one of calcio’s superpowers and secure Champions League qualification next term.

One man the Diavolo have had in their sights for a long time in Azzurri defender Gianluca Zambrotta of Barcelona.

“The difference today, just as yesterday, is £1.5m,” Galliani explained.

“The player wants to play for Milan and the Barcelona directors know that and I hope that a deal can be done.”

Milan have also been linked to Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o, who also plies his trade at the Nou Camp, but it seems Galliani may have been priced out of the market.

“Barcelona is an expensive place to shop,” he lamented.

“As soon as you set your sights on a player they ask for £20m, £30m or £40m – the kind of sums that aren’t compatible with anyone’s budget.”

The main focus of the world champions’ summer transfer campaign is finding a reliable striker and it seems they may need further attacking options with Alberto Gilardino on the cusp of joining Fiorentina.

“With Ronaldo leaving, we are looking for a striker and if Gilardino goes too then we will need two,” Galliani confirmed.

“I will be talking to Fiorentina director Sandro Mencucci today about Gilardino. But Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o are high quality targets and so very expensive.

“Marco Borriello? If he came to Milan I don’t think that he would move again.

“He wants to be a main player? I’m not the Coach – if he arrived he would be one of six strikers, but we will see when his co-ownership runs out on June 25.”

After a dismal season for Nelson Dida, Milan are also on the look out for a new custodian, but they need to make space by selling third-choice Christian Abbiati.

“For the moment Abbiati looks like he doesn’t want to go to Palermo,” Galliani sighed.

“We are watching Hugo Lloris, but if Abbiati stays then our ‘keepers will be Dida, Abbiati and Zeljko Kalac. If he leaves, we will bring in another.”

Galliani closed with an update on his attempts to bring former Milan hero Andriy Shevchenko back to San Siro.

“We are constantly talking to Chelsea and Sheva but it also depends on them,” he said.

“If they compromise on certain conditions then they know that we will sign him, but otherwise we won’t.”

I'm sorry, was Galliani expecting teams to just give away their players at rock bottom prices; oh well, it looks like another summer of Milan unwilling to spend the money needed to compete with merda and Juve. :head:
Can't they just split the difference on Zambro and get the deal done, already. Looks like Ronaldo's gone and Dida's staying, but I don't really see Dida spending another season on the bench, unless he's really wants to finish his career at Milan.
Cassano wouldn't be too expensive I think. We should have gotten him a long time ago, but at least get him now.

It seems we are in negotiations with Bordeaux for their brazilian midfielder Fernando Menegazzo (who, btw, already played in Serie A for Sienna and Catania before moving to France).. according to Berlusconi they already agreed on personal terms with the player, so now they only have to discuss the transfer fee with the club.. :conf:

Anybody else heard anything about this? (the web page that reported this is quoting La Gazzetto dello Sport as a source)..

My problem isn't with his cheapness. It would be unreasonable for fans to demand stars when we can't afford them. I'd want us to be responsible about our expenditure instead of spending the money we don't have then crashing in the end. I'm getting sick of this whining by the fans over money. "Waahhh waaahhh~ If Berlu doesn't spend $100mil on Milan, then they should sell the club!" Money doesn't fall out of the sky ppl, and others don't have to fork out hundreds of millions of their own money just to appease a bunch of whiny babies on an internet forums.

My problem is how we're spending that limited resource. We need to get rid of players who are earning a salary but aren't contributing to our cause - Emerson and Dida for example. Sitting on the bench aren't helping their careers either. And more importantly, we need to spend our money on prospects rather than older players who will only give us a couple of years.

Example:

Spend 10mil Euros on Zambrotta. 3 years later, we need to spend another 10mil Euros because Zambro is now too old. Add the medical expenses and the money lost if we get kicked out of tournaments/fail to win crucial games in the league because Zambro is injured.

Spend 15mil Euros on Vargas. Will give us 10 of his best years. Add the medical expenses for unexpected injuries.

Compare the money spent in the two cases. It shouldn't be hard. If a 2nd year econ student can see this, then there's no excuse for the President of one of the biggest clubs in the world. The way the money is spent, rather than how much is spent, is the central issue here. In this respect, we have to let go of some of our archaic mentalities and become more efficient.

I personally want to put my trust in the management...yes....even after the 2 bad mercatos. They've made mistakes, but they've also made genuine efforts to secure our future (Flamini, Gilardino, Bonera, Gourcuff, Pato, Albertazzi for the Primavera). All seemed like good deals at the time. Some have failed because of bad luck or reasons that we as fans have no ways of knowing. Others we still have to see. We also seem to be making an effort to improve our Primavera and starting to see some results. Darmian, Bruscagin and Paloschi are all starters for the Italian U19. Albertazzi is also called up at the tender age of 17.

Stop giving yourselves a hernia. The market hasn't even opened.

It is just rubbish, most reports say he would cost around 6 million maximum.

CECH, it is offered
With Hugo Lloris that will decide in its day future (Lyons favorite, but second some shouting the Milan also could break it but not to carry it immediately in rossonero), at home Milan breaks the tip of the track Cech: the portierone ceko has broken with the Chelsea, that do not the contract from 3.2 annual millions adapted him. The n1 of the Blues would have been been so dedicated, means its agent: the cost of the label would have been gone around however around 18 million euro.

It scares me, but I think you've hit the nail on the head. This will be exactly what Galliani will do. Why don't we go for Amelia? He's 25, on a relegated squad, and everyone already has good keepers besides us. But no. Galliani would rather go for Lloris and Gomez or Boruc. And yes, once again I will bitch over the barzagli thing. I still can't believe we wouldn't get this guy. We just let him go to fricking wolfsburg for christs sake.

As for Barzagli - I watched him couple of games and he was impressive but i cant really judge what kind of a player he is. It must be something wring with him that all big teams in Italy didnt go for him. There was also no interest in him from foreign good clubs so they all apparently know sth we dont :)

Abbiati and Borriello on their way!

Unfortuantely it appears as though both are coming back. Im not to sad about Abbiati as he is certainly better than Kalac and Dida on his current form.

Borriello in my opinion is not good enough and this smacks of desperation. And to think are actually going to be paying for someone who was ours last season is madness.

Shame on you B&G

Duo set for Milan return
Thursday 29 May, 2008

Christian Abbiati and Marco Borriello will be a part of the Milan squad for the 2008-09 campaign, reports suggest.

Stories in the peninsula this morning claim that the goalkeeper will return after loan spells away, while an agreement has been reached with Genoa for the striker.

Abbiati was rumoured to be on his way to Palermo, but after talks it now seems likely that the goalkeeper will be fighting for the gloves at San Siro.

The Italian, who has been loaned out to Juventus, Torino and Atletico Madrid, will be in competition with Zeljko Kalac and Nelson Dida for the No 1 shirt next season.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri have virtually wrapped up a deal to bring Borriello back to the club after his sensational campaign at Marassi.

Borriello scored 19 goals in 35 games for Genoa after they bought a 50 per cent share in him last summer.

But Milan, who sold Alberto Gilardino to Fiorentina yesterday, want him back and are prepared to pay £7m and offer youngster Davide Di Gennaro to gain full control of his rights once more.

Meanwhile, Milan are considering an offer from Galatasaray for Croatian defender Dario Simic who is looking for a change of scenery after failing to break into the plans of Carlo Ancelotti.
