Veloso on Milan agenda

Reports in Portugal suggest that Italian giants Milan are preparing a summer swoop for Miguel Veloso.

The Sporting Lisbon midfielder has attracted interest from a host of Europe's top clubs in recent seasons, without a formal approach being made.

However, it is now understood that negotiations concerning a potential move to Serie A are already underway.

With Gennaro Gattuso's future at Giuseppe Meazza still unclear, Milan are keen to bolster their midfield options and view the 22-year-old as the ideal replacement for their ageing Italian international.

The Rossoneri are also hoping to use Argentinean defender Leandro Grimi, loaned to Sporting in January, as a bargaining tool in any potential deal.

Veloso is currently preparing to represent Portugal at Euro 2008, and is reluctant to discuss his future, but it is thought that a bid of around 25million euros (£19.8m) could see him on the move during the close season.

If Sporting make it clear that they are prepared to let Veloso leave then Milan can expect competition for his signature from English quartet: Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Better the evil you know than the one you don't. Emerson was bought last year and though he's visibly out of form he still can play well. I say screw Veloso....we should be spending our money on a winger/striker NOT another DM....no matter how good. Last season we lacked width and goals but had no shortage of dm's. Ambro is an excellent dm, so is Flamini. Enough already

Exactly...at this point management should be busting their asses to acquire 1 or 2 of the attacking player/s that they named, instead of tripling up, on positions that we have sufficiently covered.

I rather have a replacer for Pirlo, we already have ambro, rino, flamini and emerson as DM but we don't have a player like pirlo

I heard that Veloso plays LB too....but here's a novel thought....what about if we were to go after an ACTUAL striker (not a converted or "he can play up front too" type player) and an actual LB/RB/Winger......it's sooo crazy it just might work

Pirlo to play.
His name and Erli "Pupi" Cupi, born on 3 February 1997 in Albania.Ha showed his quality in the biz in the "Republic Cup" for the very young, where and was rewarded as "Miglor Player" and "Miglor Director" only 8 matches did 11 goals and 13 assist.E also a assistman perfetto.E difficult to take them off the ball because it is always the right thing to do.
Potrebe cresciere much to Milanello.
The qualities that are absolutely extraordinary for its eta.Un months ago, has played in a tournament in Austria, between here against Inter, Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb, where he shone (3 assists, 2 goals including the goal victory with Dinamo), l `elimminazionedella Despite his team. Indeed, Sturm Graz has made a bid, he plays with the rifiutato.Attualmente Geraldine FC Tirana, with 94-95.

AC Milan face fans backlash over Drogba chase
tribal - June 03, 2008

AC Milan are facing a supporter backlash over their pursuit of Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.

The Daily Express says Milan last night faced an extraordinary backlash from their fans after opening talks to sign Drogba from under the noses of bitter rivals Inter and Jose Mourinho, whose appointment was confirmed yesterday.

Last night Milan fans besieged websites, saying they do not want Drogba. One said: "Milan have been a fair play team and we don't need a diver."

Mourinho, who also wants Frank Lampard and Ricardo Carvalho, is expected to have a huge advantage in the race for the striker because Inter will be playing Champions League football next year, unlike AC.

But crucially, Chelsea are using Drogba as a lever to persuade Milan to let them have coach Carlo Ancelotti.

2,4 million euro. I was hoping this would be part of a Maggio deal, but it seems not.

(Agr)

ps: oops, sorry, Billy 69 was quicker to answer. ;)

Cheers, thats a reasonable amount I guess. Accumulating all this cash from NoGol, Gila, Simic and now Sammarco makes void Galliani's complaints about too little funds for new players.

sell emo, brocchi and simic and get veloso with grimi in part exchange he can play both CB and DM and would be a great pirlo alternative, but first we must sign a new striker im with the fans backlash against drogba we have got borriello now we need more of a finisher or someone with pace to get in-behind like eto'o, i hope if we can agree a deal with barca he chooses us over printer or any other team.

i'd liek to see another AM signings. Remember how poor we looked when kaka got hurt. Its very dangerous to be that dependant on one player.
