Sandro Nesta ale!

You should add nesta to ur sig..

My favourite defender, my idol and the reason why i started watching football and playing football. 36 years old and yet still he handles the number 1 player in the world as if it is just another day at the office. u can always count on sandro on ANY match. He has brough milan so much and i think that when he retires he should definetly get a job in the milanello staff, maybe training defenders.. but i doubt milan would do that, they didnt do that for maldini either.. which i really really hate milan for.

p.s. there wont be any defender like sandro nesta ever again

Maybe he isn't injured.
He just came back from injury and the game was high tempo, maybe Allegri rested him.
That might be the reason we haven't heard any news yet.
I'm just speculating tho.

Today at Milanello

MILANELLO – The team started work at 15.00 on the central pitch at the Milanello sports centre today after yesterday’s draw against Barcelona.

All players came out for to the central pitch including those who played last night. Abate, Cassano, Nesta, Boateng and Robinho all joined in.

Clarence Seedorf followed a personalized training program.

Abate took a full part in training including the practice match.

Antonio Cassano on the other hand started training with the team before continuing his rehabilitation program in the gym.

Massimiliano Allegri will hold his press conference tomorrow at 14.30 before taking the final training session ahead of the match in Catania on Saturday at 18.00.

No injury for anyone luckily :)

Seems like he's not injured. DAMN I was so afraid that we're gonna lose him for the return leg.
I really hope ALLEGRI dont wanna risk him against Catania like he did with Silva. Cause without Sandro in Catalunya we're gonna get fucked.

He looks tired and got a Yellow so subbing him seems logical ... Great news everyone are fine

That foul from that gif...very smart foul (and even if Barcapress is saying it's criminal, look where he puts his leg, he's avoiding hitting his ankle/leg/knees, it hurts and all and I'm not gonna say it's clean, but it's far from criminal).

Not just nesta but ambrosini and seedorf as well, so many perfect tactical fouls. The seedorf one sits in my mind, Barca were about to break 3-4 men v. just our backline backpeddling and antonini too far up. Nocerino was nowhere to be seen (as usual), Ambrosini was too far. Clarence took the yellow, but prevented a surefire chance on goal.

And of course, MVB, gattuso do this stuff.

If you want to know why Milan is able to keep barca somewhat under control and others who are faster/fitter can't it's this. Intelligence to know when to foul them to stop breaks. Intelligence which comes with experience.

And again, it shows a big reason why Messi struggles v. South America, one of only places they still teach tactical fouling. It beats giving him a free path to goal.

BTW- the way nesta did it w/o getting a red is a SKILL.

Yup. We were pertty impressive with the tactical fouls yesterday, all perfectly performed too.

Yup. Barcelona's edge on Milan is that they have lots of smart players all over the pitch who think fast, but their style of game isn't one to kill you with their pace (even if they have 4 maybe 5 players who can easily do it), its to outsmart you this is when a player like Nesta is fundamental in defense, the way he reads the game is still second to none, even if he's 36, Messi only passed him 3 times or so, two were well made tactical fouls.

BTW, the fact that they have chosen outsmarting to outpacing shows how good Guardiola is. He could've easily chosen to outpace you, they have the team to do it, and it's an easier rute, but they're more vulnerable that way + it limits their game a lot more.

Wouldn't call this a tactical foul tbh. It was a (rare) mistake as the ball wasn't really under Messi's control, though that might just be the camera angle.

Still had a very good game.

Just remembered when he lobbed the ball over one of the midgets' head in front of box, that is what Pique can only have wet dreams about.

Nesta is the ultimate alpha male.

So amazing! :proud:

As for his being subbed yesterday, it was probably fatigue/cramps, something like that.

CorSport link Nesta to Juventus
By Football Italia staff

The Corriere dello Sport is today suggesting that Alessandro Nesta could leave Milan for Juventus in the summer.

The veteran stopper will be out of contract in June and he has reportedly been asked by friend Andrea Pirlo to join him in Turin.

The latter made the same Bosman move last year after his deal at the Stadio Meazza was not renewed.

The 2006 World Cup winner was linked with the Bianconeri earlier this year by Turin daily **********, but now the Rome based publication is running the story too.

Nesta, who celebrated his 36th birthday earlier this month, has been restricted to just 11 Serie A games this term.

The Roman centre-back joined the Diavolo in the summer of 2002 from hometown club Lazio.

Juve can fuck off. I hope he extend his contract asap.

36 years of age, and still able to have a brilliant game against the best team in the world.

Forever will be my favourite player of all time.
