Pato future is in doubt as he splits with the daughter of Milan president Silvio Berlusconi. It is believed that he'll leave Milan for Paris Saint-Germain.

Is this true?:)

Yeah, you were surely putting your body through the stress that pro athletes do.

yup.

the same Boateng that got hurt having sex, and cant play now because of an injury to a body part he doesnt need to play the game?

played 45 of 76 potential games his first 2 seasons here... such a pinnacle of toughness and health

um, where did i say boateng was some standard for durability? Did I even mention him with regards to pato? What does boateng being a broken down player have to do with pato?

Cause boateng is always injured it's ok pato is too? Nope.

you mention Pazzini's 3 seasons with more goals than Pato... he had his first one of those at 25.

Pato for his career is slightly off the pace of a goal every 2 games, and Pazzini is at 1 goal in every 3.

When Pato is healthy he is a better player.

oh he's only 23.

next year he's only 24

following year he's only 25.

he's got the tools to be a top class CF. Like an etoo or sheva or something. But I see little to NO drive.

cmon i've watched sports, football specifically for 15+ years. Some guys have it. Some don't. Do you see a drive or hunger out of him? I've seen it in flashes but i don't see it regular enough. I really don't believe in him

Playing with an injury is not only a stupid thing to do, its also extremely unprofessional as it doesn't allow the player to give his 100% and further aggravates the injury and make matters worse for himself and for his employers.

Players hiding injuries to get selected in the team, playing through injury in order to fulfill the incentive clause in the contract are common occurrences. This is discouraged by most doctors, even club owner's. There have been instances of a show cause notice being served to a player on discovery of the fact that he decided to hide his injury in order to get selected in the team. The only sensible for a player to do in case of an injury(even a minor one) is to report to the medical team.

Well, I'm not so sure.
Ibra at first didn't want to leave either, but when it was clear Milan wanted to sell him, he left (although he was never very happy about it).

But thing is this never happened to Pato because, according to Silvio himself, he called off the deal cause he was not convinced on it.

BTW, I want to know how do you feel about Ibra being basically kicked out? Ronaldinho kicked back to Brazil?
Kaladze forced to Genoa?
Aquilani not allowed to play so we wouldn't be obligated to pay his fee?

I don't think Ibrahimovic is a good example of loyalty and, personally, I think he wanted to leave given his comments just after the end of last season when he was moaning about the fact the club were not investing in new players.

Yes, Ronaldinho was more than likely told to leave but this was essentially because he was on extremely high wages and he was not displaying the correct sort of attitude with his incessant partying. I imagine he was warned about this on numerous occasions. Respect is a two way street has to come from both club and player.

Was Kaladze not out of contract? He definitely went on a free transfer....

Aquilani wasn't contracted to the club and they decided they were'nt going to offer him one...same as Juve

My original point was that Milan treat their players well, you cannot deny that! Also, Pato WILL turn good. On this forum in particular people jump on the bandwagon. A quick example of this is Pazzini, I would imagine a vast majority will be singing his praises because of his hat trick v Bologna...If, say, he goes five games without scoring, these same people will turn round saying he's shit and not worth the shirt he plays in!

As with Pato, give the boy a break, he's only 23 and he's been very unlucky with injuries. He's class, and I hope these people eat their words when he starts banging the goals in!

I know Milan treat the players well. I just don't think Milan is charitable or something, not to be victim of players wishes... Players hardly want to stay at a club when they're not wanted.
If Galliani and Silvio had a serious talk with Pato and explain how the move could be positive for all parts, I think he would leave, like many others players in Milan did before.

Question is not even my faith in him though. Galliani himself would have sold him if not for Silvio intervention, that tells much more than my personal feelings about the guy (or the feelings of any fan). Doesn't looked like Braida or Allegri disagreed with the business either.

Also, I'm not against Pato. He is from the team in my City and I follow him since he was 16 (when he won a U-20 championship and I watched it live). I never blamed him for his injuries either. I want as much as everyone the guy to succeed.

Reality is though, he is the biggest salary in the team, he should be LEADING this team. Yet his injury issues just get worse at every season and his contribution is close to nothing lately. There's also no positive sign that he is overcoming his injuries or getting better.

So really, if you've faith in him, nice... Just don't see any reason to play the better fan card cause of that, when there's so many reasons for fans to be frustrated cause of his injuries. People want the best for the team first.

Sell Pato to PSG for 25 million .. Sign Llorente for free :thumbsup: :D:D

25 million? :fp: 35 million? :fp::fp:
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Who is going to pay that amount for him if he keeps getting injured? IMO, if he keeps getting injured until mid-season, I truly believe he will be released. If he performs well and start scoring goals, he will be kept.

Leo in January offered 25M + 9M in bonuses if I'm not wrong. For sure his value decreased though.

But I would be more concerned about who would pay for him now... PSG is complete in the attack, they're probably not interested anymore. Maybe some English club.

At this point it's better to keep him and see what happens.

I read some people blaming Berlusconi for not selling Pato in exchange for Tevez back in January. Don't you understand that Milan were willing to sell Pato only if he was willing to go? Which he wasn't. Milan were not willing to force him out, that's not the way we do things about here. If you're not happy with that then go and support one of these new superpower clubs that cares far less about how they treat their players, a la Man city, PSG, Chelsea and then you can celebrate your titles year in year out. So many glory hunting fans on this site that started supporting Milan in 2003.

Also, Pato will turn out to be as good as Tevez...

um, excuse me?

Lets make it clear. Pato only stayed because of nepotism. There's a laundry list a mile long of reasons to be sold, including coach and head directors wishes to do with his lack fo commitment/professionalism and beyond that pure fear of his injuries.

Berlusconi public-ally stated he stopped the deal. Odds are Pato was open to the move. Bigger salary, his favorite coach/a director who he knows well, a quality team in a sexy city. Pretty good gig, imo.

Silvio basically said no, and pato went with it. Berlusconi probably said he's a big part of the man in milan, and he stayed.

Had galliani or someone told pato 'he's no longer in the coaches plans' he'd leave. Just like all the players Sven mentioned

This is perfectly stated.

@the bold part- it's said Braida and co. wanted him sold in 2010 when he was partying too much, and directors knew about it. It wasn't publicized, so they knew they could get a high fee, but many questioned his maturity and commitment.

My issue with pato is, i simply don't think he's committed. What did ancelotti say to him 'you should be scoring atleast twice as much as you do, you are that talented' and pato replies 'i know coach'

He doesn't seem to care. Maybe the footballers life and wealth killed his competitive drive. Maybe he never had it.

For me, the only way he can really regain that is a move, a new challenge. Not being 'the golden child' For this... Seedorf was 100% right. The pato we see now, is milan's problem. He didn't work for his fame. Milan ran the hype machine since day 1. He didn't earn it

Cool seeing the players train in sand. And Pato looks huge, beside muntari he actually looks bigger.

Anyway, as for all the sell Pato talk. Why would we do something stupid like that? I guess after selling Ibra and silva, everyone enjoys watching Dzeko and pique play, oh wait.......

Thats right, we dont replace quality players. And still people want pato sold, so that we can have no one.
Even then, Pato is exactly like Van persie or messi. They had huge problems, RVP still had those problems up to very recently. And hes now possibly putting rooney out of Man Us first 11.
Messi constantly was injured in his very early 20s, now many say he is the best player ever.
Id honestly wait for another 2 seasons. This one to get Pato back, and the next to watch him play every game. Then we can judge him.

Also, if pato does do it, and become the leader we need. I wonder what all the fans who wanted him gone will do. Honestly if it did happen and i was one of those people, It would be pretty awkward watching Milan do well.

I wasn't saying you specifically are against Pato, it was more a general observation of the feelings of many about him in this thread. I disagree with you on the part of Berlusconi saying no to his move, the management would probably have said you can go or stay, the choice is yours, and he chose to stay. Point being he was given the option, Berlusconi did not say, "Pato, you are definitely not moving"...come on

Yes he's the biggest salary in the team but only since the beginning of this season, of which we are two games into!! So, no judgement can be passed yet on him leading the team this season.

The fans are all obviously frustrated at his injuries but don't you think Pato is too? By supporting the team you support every element of it, and this guy needs the support right now.

I'm not playing the better fan card, all I'm saying is what I feel about Pato and that is he is the future of Milan...or, we could have got another prima donna in the shape of Carlos "everything is about me" Tevez, whos 28 and only going to get worse........

Okay, so lets start believing everything Berlusconi tells us? hahaha

Do you think Berlusconi gives a shit about his daughters boyfriend?

Yes, those reasons are good for wanting to move, but how about the fact he is settled in a big team, with a proud history. PSG? Only really became quality this summer, play in an average league, and sexy city? Milan aint too bad either....

What would we lose if we sold a guy that hasn't played full 90 minutes in almost a year and is earning 4.5 mil? Someone who we really have no clue what he can be cause when he's not injured he's REALLY inconsistent and doesn't show a single bit of improvement since he came in 2007? (ugh that's really the thing that bothers me the most, I guess if I could see Pato improving over the years I would have a different opinion, the only time he looked like really improving was in 08-09 but the regression since then shown not only in Milan but with Brazil is too annoying). There's more to gain.

They had huge problems, RVP still had those problems up to very recently. And hes now possibly putting rooney out of Man Us first 11.
Yeah, I see Arsenal really enjoyed all the fruits in the field of taking their time with Van Persie...oh wait.

Messi constantly was injured in his very early 20s, now many say he is the best player ever.
Id honestly wait for another 2 seasons. This one to get Pato back, and the next to watch him play every game. Then we can judge him.
Correction, Messi was constantly injured in his late teens, by 21 (aka early 20's) he had contributed in a treble.

Also, if pato does do it, and become the leader we need. I wonder what all the fans who wanted him gone will do. Honestly if it did happen and i was one of those people, It would be pretty awkward watching Milan do well.
It'll never be awkward watching Milan do well ;).

I'm pretty sure we all want Pato do really show his potential, hell especially now that it seems we won't even get a 10th of what we could've gotten for him 8 months ago and that he's basically been called up to be the star. Doesn't change the fact that we should've sold him (like me, almost all our staff was in agreement with this, except Berlusconi) and that atm I would prefer to have someone else instead of him. Do you think Galliani will feel awkward or bad if Pato really explodes?

You can't make all your decisions based on potential in the future, mostly cause sometimes you gotta take the risk for the present and let time make the final call. You can't make a decision thinking "ohhh what if he rips it apart in another team"...if he does, he does, and good for him, but you can't make a decision based on fear of what will happen if, and I'm sure our staff wasn't thinking about that back in January, they were thinking about actual things that were happening that meant we would gain more by selling him than keeping him.

Fact, Pato's relationship has gotten him off. Kept him from being sold. Allowed him to criticize his coach. But basically, the most important points are what sven and c4m said. He's paid to lead the team and he's simply unreliable.

BTW, Tevez is infinitely more reliable. I didn't want him because, we all know with in 3 seasons he'll want to move home, but you can't argue on the pitch he is a far superior player.

psg has a good history in it's own right. Average league is prolly close to on par with serie a. I like Milan, but I love Paris. Undoubtedly best city to live in europe if you're rich.

I don't get it, I thought you said he wanted to go but Berlusconi said no? Meaning he would want to get sold...plus the reasons you stated him for wanting to go to PSG, salary, city etc.

Yes Tevez is a superior player right now. I wouldnt agree with far superior, the main difference would be Tevez has a higher work rate, and both are excellent goalscorers, injuries discounted lol.

The French league as a whole is not close to Serie A in terms of quality. Never has been, never will be. That is a fact.

I don't get why people should feel bad if Pato was sold and went on to score lots of goal somewhere else, shouldn't we just be happy for him? It's not like he'd ever be sold below his current value with all the hype surrounding him.

We sold Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a kid from our primavera for 1 million € last year after sending him out on loan. He scored more goals least season than Pato has ever done in one season, was one of the top scorers of League 1, became the biggest star of the African Cup of Nations, scored in the olympics recently and has already netted two goals in three league matches this season. He's the same age as Pato. At least you couldn't say Pato wasn't given a proper chance, six years and way more support than any player could wish for from a club.

Huntelaar scored 48 goals in 47 appearances for Schalke last season. His goals per games numbers in Milan were way below his average anywhere else because he was used in the wrong position. It would take a lot for Pato to be able to top Huntelaars performance last year if he was sold.

If Pato leaves, we lose that sparkle a team like Milan has.
