Blaming a match on the ref is weak. Verona were the better side by far, and fully deserved their win. They were superior in defending, attacking, set pieces, and fitness.

It's no big deal, though. We're slow starters. That's just the way it is. 1 game gone, 37 to go... no problem.

ah, not blaming ref.

just that 1 on balotelli was REALLY clear. Sucks

Lets hope we dont fuck up against PSV

Shall we all blame this loss to 'not having match fitness' as per the usual bs?

Garbage tactics as usual i see by Mr. Allegri. Dude must arguably be the worst motivator ever

Are you kidding me ? I just don't see any new team there ! Even the only new player I saw there has made 2 chances for a goal and scored 1 ...
This is the same F***ing team of last year struggling to keep the victory and can't comeback for delay ..

On the topic of decisions.

The first for Balo(which you all called a dive, you fucking shitty Fiorentina fans) was not a penalty, but a FK as it was outside the box. It was a definite foul though.

The second, which Balo was booked for, was a penalty. Definitely. You do not do what their defender did to do nothing... he clearly ran across him to cause him to fall. Definite PK.

Toni's, imo, was not a penalty. Zapata was simply in the way. There was no shirt-pulling or pushing, just a collision.

Referee, overall, was kind of a hindrance to us.. calling little fouls their way and not giving us anything.

Otherwise, Allegri's subs baffled me a little. I'd have taken off Nocerino and Niang and put on Emanuelson and Robinho... instead, Constant, SES and Niang go off for Robinho, Emanuelson and Petagna...

Despite that, it was clear that Montolivo, Zapata, Nocerino, Balotelli(we all know his finishing and shot placement is top-tier), Niang and SES were not good at all... this, he cannot be called to account for.

Allegri chose the correct line-up, we all commended that. What turned out to be our bane was set-piece management, something Allegri is not responsible for; Luca Toni rolling back the years, while people were laughing at him in here before the game; and the team having a collective fuck-up. Very little of that is exclusively Allegri's fault.

You can argue he should have motivated us more or used a microwave on Hellas, but overall, this was a game in which the team fucked up more than the manager.

We better improve when we play PSV, or I see the CL inching away into the nether distance, within which it cannot be reached.

Also, relatively on topic, does anyone else lose all desire to visit the forum when we lose? It just turns into a complete cesspit of blaming and shaming every single thing: Principles go out of the window(MB slating Allegri despite being a #taskforce), ******s come out of the woodwork and the forum slips a few inches ever further into the chasm of trigger-happy bullshit and overriding irrational thought.

The ref has allowed an extremely physical match. He didn't give Toni a penalty for the exact same thing.

Toni's was no pen. It was a collision between them when Toni crashed INTO Zapata. Looked like Zapa fouled but reply showed collision

Absolutely no excuse for losing to Verona.

Better talent in every department than Verona.

Allegri's squads CONTINUE to fail against terrible signs.

I'm not even that upset, sort of numb to it really... But to be outplayed completely by an inferior side is just flat out embarrassing.

Bad game by El Shaarawy, Nocerino and Constant ... the whole left side was absent. Add to this a below average game by Montolivo and a fragile defense on high balls and an underestimation of the opponent ... and that a recipe for a loss when you have no other creative player.

Petagna is not ready to play against closed defenses ... and we need a creative player badly. In 15 min Robinho created more than the rest of the team in 75 min ... Hopefully "IF" we make the playoff, Galliani will do something otherwise a 3rd spot is the most we can accomplish.

We scored a goal and decided to save energies for the game with PSV. What a disappointment. 3 points lost before the season even starts.

My favorite part was when he brought on Urby and Petagna, Petagna played as the 2nd CF, and Urby? Urby was told to go out wide and play as a RWB/RM![/U] Brillant! Never seen such a genious move before! So we played 4 at the back, 3 in the mid, 1 right wing back and 2 CF's? Shame Verona didn't fall for it!!

It was a 4-4-2

The ref wasn't fair. Don't even try to bring Luca Toni's dive because if thats the case then Balo deserved two penalties. He definitely wasn't the only reason we lost today though.

Zapata needs to fuck off, both goals were his fault, Zapata was at fault for our shitty start last season and our shitty start this season, why do we put up with these medicore players... oh right Galliani....

Yep. We needed those players to beat Jorginho, Donati, Romulo, k got it

apperently violence has erupted after the game

I don't blame em. They probably racially abused the fuck outta our players, and we played like shit and in the end they won. Somebody probably couldnt take it anymore...

In fact Toni put his right hand out which hits Zapata and both fell. Definitely a dive from Toni. Zapata did not move in his position or did not deliberately block Toni.

I think he was fair, though. Denied both sides likely penalties, and let the players resolve the match for the most part.

When we are bitching about the ref not helping against Verona, we are in trouble I think.

:thumbsup:agree

there was no link between mid and attack, and we barely got close to their goal ....why did he take constant? why not urby in front of him as a LCM...

Allegri should have changed the formation to 4-2-3-1, and give Niang and SES another chance...Robinho will take a bit of pressure away from both of them

Abbi
Abate--Zapata--Mexes--Constant
Poli--Monty
Niang--Robinho--SES/Urby

I don't blame Allegri for the line-up or the subs, but I do blame him for the physical preparation. Year in and year out it's the same thing. We start very slow and lose valuable points. The team is gassed out. The player could barely run.

True, but Mario's reputation is what caused this. This is what some people were complaining about after the PSV match; Mario's reputation as a diver will force some refs to assume he dived even when he didn't.

What a tragedy, no intensity at all in the performance. We were chasing a lead and there was practically no pressing at all; Verona just passing it around the back while we were just sitting back. At one point it looked like the Verona players were going WTF... VERY dissapointed with this performance

Let's hope it was cause they were thinking about the PSV game... Robinho was the only player who looked like he actually wanted to win, that says alot
