European success in Milan's nature
AC Milan are struggling in Serie A but are the only Italian club to make the round of 16 – Paolo Menicucci believes European success is in the Rossoneri's DNA
Tinkerman's Inter even won their CL group. There's nothing unusual about a club struggling in the league qualifying to the next round in UCL - especially in the unconvincingly and ugly way Milan did it.
This club hasn't done well in CL since 2007 and by well I don't necessarily mean winning the whole thing. Last time the club qualified from the group stage with more than 9 points was in 2008. In the Scudetto season, we only managed to beat one club - an Auxerre side who almost got relegated to Ligue 2 - and got knocked out by mighty Tottenham. This season we once again qualified by only beating one of the three teams in the group - the weakest. 11/12 was our best - still only 1/3 of the games were won. Even APOEL Nicosia have had a CL season like those.
