perhaps yes. but IF we do sell balo and we replace him with a player like mandzukic, we really should have nothing to complain about. Yes, the age barrier exists and in the long term, it doesnt seem very prospective in terms of resale value for us. However, he would guarantee top class performances for a solid 3- 4 years, which is fine for me.

More suitable than Balo?

People always claim Balo doesn't score in big games, but he did enough to knock big-bad Germany out of the EC ... all by himself ... much more single-handedly than Mandzukic apparently carrying Bayern to a treble.

I'd rather pass on Mandzukic and let him bite us in the ass for not getting him for a less number of seasons than sell Balotelli and look grim faced for a decade and a half as he realizes his potential somewhere else.

As for whether Mandzukic is a better fit, I'm skeptical. We'd need to overhaul crossing and direct creative play for Mandzukic to shine. Yet, people want to sell Kaka, Honda, etc. and bring in box to box midfielders? Wingbacks who's crossing is none better than what we already have? If we had any sense about us we'd sell our crap players and break the bank for Suarez. He'd more compliment our existing, quality players than any other striker out there. If not him, we should have pushed for Tevez last summer. Either of those two with Balotelli, Honda, Monto, Poli, etc. would have gotten or get us next season 3rd or 4th in Serie A.

I liked and defended Noce in his first season and the first part of his second. Stopped doing so after that because he was largely poosack.

And if you would actually watch football in Serie A, you'd know Drame is one of the best LBs in Serie A. Miles ahead of ours, barring De Sciglio.
