As a football fan I'd say Maradonna and Pele will always be on top. PErsonally Ronaldo is my favourite though. I see him personally as better as all before him and so far.

Ronaldo is the favourite of most football fans who grew up in that generation. And the greats like Maldini who played against him acknowledged it. For us who saw the real ronaldo, we will always have a problem in accepting his namesake. The namesake's biggest fault is his name. And Ronald Regan is responsible for that.

Why should not Kaka be mentioned? Many here will consider prime Kaka to be better than prime CR7 and more effective than prime Messi in big matches.

I for sure consider players like Messi , CR7 & Xavi are on the same level of CR9 , Zidane ,Maradona & co.
Its acceptable to say one is slightly better or worse among those greats.

But to say Messi is way better than R9 is for sure WRONG.
And to say Henry or Sheva are better than R9 is a crime.
Dinho on his prime maybe belong there but Kaka shouldnt be mentioned for sure.

He has 49 goals in 93 European appearances.....but those include a full season in the Europa League with Inter. He had only 11 games with Inter in the era of his injury ravaged seasons...missing out the 2000–01 season entirely.

He also missed out a lot at Milan due to ineligibility in '07 and alter injury.

There were other guys like Alan Shearer and David Trezuget who were awesomely consistent but wouldn't be considered in a "greatest ever" debate.

There's what a player did or could do at his peak. Then there's the setting he did it in.
