Not good news in general. They are very capable of pissing hundreds of millions into Inter in quest for prestige. Will be impossible to compete with fodder Serie A revenuesInternational Business times is saying the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) will acquire Inter.

Sure, and I don't think we're disagreeing that much. I agree for example that it's normal that players are playing first and foremost for their own career, trying to maximize sporting and financial success as much as possible within the few years they have on the highest standards.Yes but as I said fans arent monolithic - the vocal minority are usually disregarded as the club continues with the majority and many times new or casual fans supporting.
If the despised player was the only entity that mattered then I think your argument holds up much better but its a team sport where many of those fans are attached to the club much more than the individual.
And I just said players are people - they arent some robots - they will act in their interests and many a time that may not align with management.
I'm sure their debt plays a part in the reported amount. This has been reported several times now. Some of the figures don't make sense, specially the part where Inter is being sold for 1B.
They may possibly have a financial advantage to everyone else, but it'll be good for the league though. Maybe they realized the Newcastle takeover was a waste of money since they're bound to get relegated lol.Not good news in general. I read this as:
We are seeing constant and impressive improvement year after year, but we still haven’t won anything yet so fuck you Elliott!!!!!!!
Seems a little ungrateful and impatient, no?
My nephew is 9 years old, and naturally I'm indoctrinating him into being a Milan fan. He says Milan is "one of his favorite teams" and naturally I've bought him a Milan shirt, so we're getting there. If youth is getting less and less involved in football, less and less emotionally attached to the sport, the club, the game - the players... Maybe they should start thinking about why that is. And long-term, if they want to keep their big fat contracts, they should start thinking how they can young generations care about football again.
Yes, pls!Reports Roma ready to sell Zaniolo
Italy will treat mbs the way UEFA does the Qataris.Report: PIF ready for $1 billion Inter takeover from Suning
Seems like Insigne is going to Toronto FC as well. That is his level.
Well, it was Infantino who said that their studies show young people being less and less into football (coming up with the worldcup-every-two-years-idea). It's also one of the reasons brought forward by the SL founding clubs why they wanted to create a more exciting format than CL as the current format has lost its once much more glorious appeal for the younger audience. My nephew is 9 years old, and naturally I'm indoctrinating him into being a Milan fan. He says Milan is "one of his favorite teams" and naturally I've bought him a Milan shirt, so we're getting there.
When I was his age, it was always what team and the focus was always on the team, and I think FIFA's structure at the time pushed us to think that way.
And he's just starting to get into football, he's really into tennis and taekwondo (I used Ibra's background is taekwondo to just cement that Milan will be his team), but the long point of my post is: the focus on FIFA now is on collecting these player cards and it skews how they look at the game. His interest in Milan players is in how they impact his constructed team. Milan's focus on a partnership with EA Sports is obvious, it's directed towards these kids.
This fixation on players is exacerbated by fantasy sports, where even adults care less about their team and more about how their fantasy team does. But the centrality of sports, in general, to live TV and the strategies of TV companies, will ensure that the money will still come in, even if they make a loss, because of how it feeds into their strategies in promoting themselves, etc.
Vlahovic is super-hot right now, I get it, but I've heared this already about Piatek, Milik or Schick in the past. They all looked super-strong back in the day and you always heared similar figures being thrown around. Is there any chance we can get Vlahovic next summer?
He is just 21 and knows Serie A.
We can get him for 50m in total and split the payment over 3 years.
He is gonna be our main CF for 5 years+, so the deal should be worth investing in our owner's perspective.
I would at least have rights in Somalia.Don't ban Qaas, send him back to Somalia like I said. 8-10% internet penetration, makes him use his time online more carefully.

I'm not sure I was saying different. I was just opining on the human aspect of the player given the discussion at that point where forum members were actually tearing down Kaka and Sheva for their choices -> vocal minority who obviously only choose to look at them through the lens of fandom.Milan fans are not dumb. They don't expect every player to have the same undying loyalty towards the club as the fans themselves have, no matter the players significance for the club. But bro, there's a reason why players like Hakan and Donna couldn't enter San Siro without getting booed by thousands of Milan fans while players like Sheva, Kaka or Thiago Silva are still worshiped even after leaving the club.
My theory is that they would go for IPO once they feel the club is at 1bn-2bn value, so not now, but after we win some titles, go deep in CL for a couple of years. Then, it would be the only option, as the value would truly be that high, but there are no real buyers interested to invest that much in a football club. That was my point to WHY they would go for IPO.So #1, I agree. They've said as much themselves. They won't keep the club.
#2 and #3 go hand and hand. If you don't think they can sell the club at 1bil now (i agree)...then why would an IPO be an answer to that problem?
When you list a company on the market, it has to get valued. So the shares that will be offered will be a certain price. Let's say Milan will be valued at 700M currently. I have no idea if that number is anywhere near the true valuation. Just for conversation purposes. So now....you are stuck. At that 700M. That's what your company is valued at and the shares outstanding will be initially offered on the market at that valuation (proportianally). In order to get to the desired 1B (not sure if that's Elliot's desire, but let's go with it as a benchmark), you now have to show finances, growth, improvement, sales, profit, etc...something to cause your company to all of a sudden be worth that much more.
So...when do you think those same sgares that were valued at 700M will have enough gain to now be valued at 1B? (This is a very simplified process of how this works).
What if we miss the CL 3 years in a row. What if there is another lockdown? What if "xyz"? It's a risk. Football clubs are a risky business. Not only that....but unless you are one of the very few...it's a "loss" business. Good luck gaining valuation on your company on the market. Oh...and by the way...since you've listed shares publically...you no longer own the whole thing. So, even if it gets valurd at 1B at some point and you wanna cash out...you'll only leave with whatever portion you own...which obviously won't be 1B.
So this is why I think Elliot won't "risk" listing Milan on the market. They'll only do it if they wanna "invest" in Milan's operations/infrastructure, BUT they don't wanna use their own money OR borrow from a lender.
Remember Li's plans to list Milan publicly? His idiot CEO said as much. Reason was that Li was broke and had no more money to invest..or even keep the lights on. So the answer? Sell part of Milan on the market for more cash.
Elliot doesn't need cash. Ant listing Mioan om the market is hardly the best way to grow its value. As a matter of fact, it's probably the riskiest and worst way to do that.
Going public refers to a private company's initial public offering (IPO), thus becoming a publicly-traded and owned entity. Businesses usually go public to raise capital in hopes of expanding. Additionally, venture capitalists may use IPOs as an exit strategy (a way of getting out of their investment in a company).
Wasn't Elliot looking to sell the club for 1bil?International Business times is saying the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) will acquire Inter.
