Lol you've completely missed the point...the other guy was saying that quality is the ONLY important factor and considers Serie A pedigree a handicap.
However, I cited Samu + Brahim as examples of where we signed/loaned highly rated youngsters from abroad (as indicated by their market values/transfer fees/club pedigree etc) who have both failed in Serie A. Therefore, signing quality players from abroad isn't any more likely to guarantee success than signing a player from Serie A. However, Paolo's track record when it comes to forwards (which is what the discussion was originally about) indicates that he values Serie A experience highly e.g. Ibra, Rebic, Mandzukic, Piatek, Pellegri + Higuain (and rightfully so).
Also, it's funny that you blame Samu's failed signing solely on Leonardo when Maldini happened to say this at the time...
On Castillejo: “I’m very excited to see his performances, I like the way he plays and his style. I think he can be a great surprise for us.”

Therefore, he was equally to blame and given the failures of both Samu + Brahim to adapt to Serie A I give significantly less credence to the Asensio rumours.
