Only team that's "spending" in Italy was Juve, and look at them.

Let's hope that's true for the stadium

This winter Mercato seems to have been especially poor for all of Serie A. The biggest transfer so far is Matheus Martins on a honorous loan for 6M from Udinese to Watford and of course Kiwior from Spezia to Arsenal for 25M.

The biggest transfer to a Serie A club is Spezia reinvesting 4M into Przemyslaw Wisniewski from Venezia in Serie B.

Devis Vasquez for 470K to us is currently the 5th highest transfer to Serie A so far. Hey, who's saying we are not spending!? :o

Aren't they technically owned by the same person? Probably just to balance the books right

And we can easily look at 1 window ahead to see who spent and who didn't :)

2m loan fee in 2021/22, then 4.5+2m bonuses last summer which makes it for a total of +/- 8.5m.

This Leonardo bad Maldini good narative is hilarious, the fact is Maldini is working for us since 18/19 and was present for the Laxalt, Castillejo, and Higuain-Caldara disasterclass transfers, even though I didn't mention those.

All the news sources say that they negotiated Messias transfer fee to about 2.5 mil. With the loan fee it's 4.5 mil total.

https://sempremilan.com/messias-casa-milan-contract-rossoneri :

Brazilian winger Junior Messias has left Casa Milan after signing his contract with the club that makes his loan deal permanent, a report claims.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, Messias has now departed the club headquarters just a couple of hours after arriving to sign his new contract with the Rossoneri.

It is now assumed that his permanent move to the club will be officially announced by the club either this evening or tomorrow.

The contract keeps Messias with Milan until June 2025. He spent last season on loan at the club from Crotone and he managed to score five times. He was a very valuable rotation option on the right for Stefano Pioli and will likely take up that role again next season.

Milan will only be paying the Serie C side €4.5 million for his services despite the previous agreement being set at €8 million when the initial loan deal was made a year ago.

Maldini isn't even the SD who selects players. That's Massara, and before Leonardo was the SD. If Leonardo had let Maldini do the transfers 1 month into his 1st management job ever, that would make him an even bigger idiot than we think he his!

If you got money why would you wanna spend it in Serie A?

Small market league with low revenues, and you have municipalities trying their best to make it so you rent their run-down stadium for as long as they can
But people don't want a sugar daddy

If an owner doesn't irrationally love this team it's going to take much longer to get where we want to ...or you then become an Ajax or Benfica.

Ideal would be having a sugar daddy but maintaining your ruthlessness on moving non-performers.

Maybe time to promote Moncada to SD!!
So they can tell him no instead of him hearing it from Maldini?

I think the players we want and expect to play at Milan's level were recommended - we just can't buy them.

Our decisions based on 'May be' s have been backfiring recently.
May be Origi will explode once he is the main CF.
May be Tomori will grow and cut Zapata/Bonera- esque brain-farts.
May be our fitness team can prevent injuries.
May be Tata can be a good deputy.
May be kids like Adli, Thiaw and Vrankcx click immediately like Kalulu.
May be Zlatan will be better post surgery.
May be Maignan and Rebic will remain fit. May Bennacer - Tonali will give more midfield stability than Kessie.
May be Diaz/Salad/Messias will improve.
May be Pioli will find some alternative tactics.
All these "May be" situations ended in the negative and we are now facing a really tricky top 4 pursuit instead of second star and CL Q/F.
Zaniolo is too expensive for us given our 50 million per season transfer budget. He is worth the risk on a free transfer or a loan with option at 10-15 million.
@AC_Wesley
Please ban this guy. This amount of common sense shouldn't be tolerated.
I mean at least mention someone's hair or fashion sense man ffs :head:

So basically when Theo or Leao or Bennacer can't start, you have kids / free transfers starting? Sort of like Tata for Maigan but spread out to all the positions?!
I prefer kids instead of Messias, Gabbia and Pobega

I meant `Moncada instead of Msssara, maybe... Maldini would still be the "Technical Director" ( CEO od sporting ).
We don't know all the details but the press are saying Moncada wanted Kolo Muani but Massara preferred Origi. It could all just made up stuff, so I said "maybe".

Overall Moncada seems to have modern approach using a lot of data analysis. And he was the chief scout at Monaco, doing excellent work there with Luis Campos.

What kind of kids? The Angelo Gabriel 25 mil type or the free Halilovic type?? Because it seems you were suggesting spend most of the transfer money on 3 starters after selling a large number of players....

They can't due to FFP.

Best thing to do here if we really want Zaniolo (seems like MM really do) then it's to wait until the summer when Roma is in even worse of a position. And it's not like Zaniolo is expected to blow up in the spring to give Roma more leverage

Massara also signed Mirante, Roma GK. A Serie B level GK.
