Transfermarket only list the 5 mil loan fee for Raspadori, not the 30 mil obligation. Obligation is like a regular purchase so around 20 mil net mercato ( surplus not defcit ). Inter had around 32 mil net mercato with much higher salaries. Just Lukaku salary is around 20 mil gross! Just the 1 year cost of Lukaku is more than 1 year amortization plus salary of all Milan's new transfers!

Roma is not even in CL and made over 200 mil of losses last year. Milan just made 60 mil loss.

Milan is a 7 time CL winner. You want the owner to run the club as if it is a similar club to Napoli, Roma etc....?? Milan should be above these other Serie A shit clubs. Milan have millions more fans all around the world.

If they dont trust management, then replace them. You want them to both keep the management plus also continue with this stingy, blood sucking business of theirs??
Firstly, I'm talking specifically about the mercato budget provided by RedBird and NOT salaries/amortization. Therefore, like I said before, according to Transfermarkt, Inter registered a 16m net spend whereas both Napoli & Roma had net surpluses of 13m & 43m respectively compared to our 35m net spend. Therefore, all things considered, RedBird have provided Milan with the highest mercato budget in Serie A WITHOUT requiring any key player sales unlike our competitors.

As for Raspadori, the obligation will affect this summer's mercato budget hence why it's been correctly excluded from the 22/23 data by Transfermarkt (similar to the Hauge deal last year). Also, with regards to Lukaku's wages, Inter released several of their biggest earners over the summer to help accommodate him (Alexis, Vidal, Perisic etc).

Anyway, my point is that Serie A has been in a dire financial situation for a while so we really don't have any room to complain when our owners provide the largest mercato budget in the league and don't ask us to sacrifice any players. However, I think that Napoli's profitable mercato and probable Scudetto win will cause Gerry to seriously question whether we have the right management team in place. Having said that, I think he'll give the current team one more chance (after winning the Scudetto last season) before making any changes but require them to sell some players to help balance the books like I said earlier.

I think Roma is willing to freeze out Zaniolo for 18 months and ruin his career. They will still demand 35m in the summer.

The guy who tweeted this must be Tata’s agent because that’s actually Tata warming up

How to stay in the lineup for as long as possible? Attempt to make the new guy look worse. :taphead:

That’s not Tata in the first video. You know they warm up all the goalies pregame, not just the starter.

Maybe Zaniolo will do an Adil Rami and pay for his own transfer fee on deadline day. That'd be epic business by Paolo

Having said that, I think he'll give the current team one more chance (after winning the Scudetto last season) before making any changes but require them to sell some players to help balance the books like I said earlier.

Hauge was loan with option and conditional obligation ( the team not get relegated ). Regular obligation is almost the same as a regular purchase. And if you sign a 35 mil player, only 1/5th or 7 mil ( 35 / 5 =7) comes on the year's books not the whole amount!! You amortize over the length of the contract. So basically there is almost zero difference between regular purchase and obligation. Obligation affects the budget the same way as a purchase. Even UEFA counts it like that for FFP!

Or in other words, do you think if Maldini wanted to sign a 35 mil winger with loan plus obligation on top of the other transfers, would the owners have allowed it because it was loan plus obligation and not straight purchase? Or is only Napoli allowed to count loan plus obligation in the way you described? Maybe Maldini can even then combine 3 mercatos in one by doing 2 year loans plus obligation!!

How can you count transfer fees without looking at salaries? If the management can sign players with 20 mil gross salaries like Lukaku, then they can do more free deals without spending as much on transfers. For example they could have signed Ziyech on loan and given him 6 mil net salary. They could have also kept Kessie with 6 mil salary as well. Are you saying that high salaries don't hurt your books and only transfer spending does??

And Milan's books were in much better shape than Roma, Inter and Juve. Milan only made 60 mil in losses which is quite good. Roma made over 200 mil! And then Milan increased their shirt sponsorship recently by around 50 mil. So not all Serie is in bad financial shape!

If Leao doesn't renew they should sell him. But if they just sell their best players for the sake of selling, how is that going to help top 4 chances. And then how will that increase the club's revenues? Fucking Gerry wants to get Milan's revenue to 500 mil. How the fuck is he going to do that by running the club like Napoli?

Abramovich bought Chelsea for 300-400 mil. He then paid around 1 bil in club losses over the years to make Chelsea a big club. Then the club got sold for a few billion! They didn't let him keep the proceeds because of sanctions but he would have come out in profit if they had. That's how you grow big clubs, not this bullshit 35 mil net mercato spending.

Lol 35m net spend is still SIGNIFICANTLY more than any of our rivals e.g. according to Transfermarkt, Napoli 13m net surplus, Roma 43m net surplus, Inter 16m net spend etc. Also, all of the aforementioned clubs sold/released some of their best players last summer whereas Paolo wasn't required to sell anybody so stop whining!

Anyway, like I said before, Gerry is obviously unimpressed with the fact that Maldini blew c.50m on a number of players who've failed to make an impact in addition to handing out long term deals to injury prone players like Origi + Florenzi. Therefore, he's being prudent with his money and waiting until summer before making additional funds available which is perfectly reasonable. However, I also expect him to ask Paolo to correct his mistakes and sell some of the deadwood and potentially a key player if we miss out on the CL to balance the books.

As for Napoli, according to Capology, their annual payroll is significantly cheaper than ours (70m vs. 88m). Anyway, I don't know how reliable these figures are but I'd genuinely be surprised if their salaries and amortization costs are higher given that they sold/released most of their biggest earners last summer e.g. Koulibaly, Mertens + Insigne and replaced them with low cost players from minor leagues likes like Kim + Kvaradonna.

They are higher, not significantly, but they’re higher. I remember something like 20 or 30m more than us. They’re third behind Juve and Inter, then Roma, then Milan. Napoli have MUCH higher amortization costs than us, which isn’t surprising.
