The fact that Even Piolito is apparently relying on IbraGOD to get out of this crisis says it all. The coach should be the one commanding the respect. Not relying on a semi-retired player. I have no words. Frankly I’ve lost all hope in Pioli. But if we can at least change tactics and use the new young, he can restore my faith back in him. But right now I still think firing him is the right solution.

Am i the only one that is confident that this sunday on 05.02.2023 (exactly one year since Giroud’s 1-2 brace) we gonna turn this season around?

I really think the boys will rise and win this! Forza

Lol shit for brains I said that no serious team was interested in him which is why he'll stay sitting on Chelsea's bench until the end of the season. The winter window was open for a MONTH and despite record spending by Chelsea who needed to recoup funds, absolutely NOBODY offered to take this piece of excrement off their hands. Also, do you really believe that PSG were that interested in him that they waited until the LAST day of the mercato and somehow managed to fuck up the paperwork you absolute mug?:fp:

I reckon this Vasquez guy is clearly not gonna be a huge upgrade on Tata or Pioli would've played him, yes he needs time to settle but if he had enough ability I don't think Pioli would be risking his career with Tata

If you are a World Cup winner/finalist like Theo and Giroud would you be respected by Pioli? Seriously asking.
Pioli is not among the big coaches. He wasn't a big player either.

I am not saying he should be treated like shit, but it is one thing to be coached by Mourinho/Guardiola/Zidane/Carlo and completely different thing to be coached by a guy who had his first (and last) trophy won as a coach tattoed on his arm.

Who knows Pioli still persisted with the 4231 after teams worked us out.... I wouldn't put it past him.

It happens with managers most of the time its stubbornness, arrogance or just living in fantasy land. Tough times leads to odd behaviour

It took Giuntoli 8 years to finally build a title winning side. Feels like Maldini deserves some slack for a few bad moves (some not yet even proven to be bad and just need time to adapt). He won us a title after 3 years, inheriting the worst Milan squad in decades. A terrible month on the pitch, and some bad bets in the summer don’t negate that he built this squad excellently so far.

Maldini is good as the CEO of the sporting side (they call it Technical Director ). As SD Massara is decent but Moncada or someone else could be better. As far as I can remember Maldini initially wanted Igli Tare of Lazoi as the SD. When Tare didn't accept, he got Massara 2-3 days later.

It seems Moncada wanted Enzo F and Kolo Muani. The press is saying that Massara preferred Origi over Muani. Also Zaniolo doesn't seem like a Monacada pick either....

It’s shocking the amount of people openly calling for Maldini and Massara to be sacked. I sort of understand calling for Pioli to be sacked, January was that bad, but why Maldini and Massara?

It’s overboard for sure. They’ve made some mistakes, the new signings if they didn’t consult Pioli is a mistake on their part, which does look it because Pioli doesn’t like using them. Still I attribute the lack of success on new signings more to Pioli than them, but they really should be getting players with the coach’s input, because if the coach doesn’t want to use them, then they’re just a waste of space.

Still Maldini and Massara have done a good job with the budget they have and I think people are being too harsh in asking them to be fired.

If Maldini and Guintoli didn’t assemble their squads, then who did? The only player from the pre-Maldini era is Calabria.

Agree on the ‘worst squad in decades’ I was exaggerating there.

Bad bets happen all the time, it’s part of the risky strategy we’re taking. Overall we’ve made way more good bets than bad. People are coming up with Bakayoko, Kerkez, etc as bad bets as if they negate the bets on Theo, Leao, Kalulu, Tonali, Tomori, etc etc.
Giuntoli is carrying business as usual for Napoli. You don't hear their fans making excuses for letting guys like K2, Fabian Ruiz walk.

We want to applaud Maldini for showing ambition (we are not a selling club), then we need to be realistic about what that's going to cost us, namely in this case Kessie being allowed to walk for free.

We've had 2 key players we didn't make replacement for, in the name of being disciplined and that we are not a selling club. Not replacing those players contribute to where we are at today.

So no, maldino didn't build the squad the same way Giuntoli build his

Guys, what do you think if someone offered Leao 25M because he's on his final year? (With the clear intention of lowballing us because they knew we're in difficult situation)
we should bite the bullet and maldini will have to make up for transfer funds with his own money/go public saying our mercato is fucked because i'm a noob

I don't want Maldini and Ricky sacked, but they fucked up big time. We have such a low budget and they still manage to spend a lot of money on fodders.
i mean, that's logical...

Agreed but it hasnt been just one terrible month - It has been a historically bad month in a season when many thought / hoped we would be still on the rise
You are looking at it rationally and correctly but for many fans its just emotion spilling out that way.

It’s honestly the worst month since I’ve watched football. Results wise I don’t remember us being this bad in a month. Secondly from the position we were in. We were competing for the title and what 5 points below Napoli? Or was it 7? since then, we are out in 2 competitions and practically out of the Serie A as well, our CL spot is at risk. We are literally out of the top 4 atm and it’s February.

And we’ve been historically bad defensively. It’s honestly the worst month and February can get worse if Inter and Spurs embarrass us.

Truth is even before the WC, we declined from last season. We all know this. We expected to improve, that’s why we are disappointed.

Basically our prior expectations is what made this month one of the worst ever. If this happened during the 2014-15 season, we would kinda expect it. But this month happening after our scudetto season? Yeah man…

Hi all,

First time poster, but long time lurker (probably since 2009 or so). I feel compelled to post and express my thoughts following the January disaster.

We've played like crap since the beginning of the season really. We were staying afloat, but it seemed clear that eventually we were going to hit a wall. We desperately needed reinforcements. Seeing Kessie rot on the bench at Barca when he could be a wall in our midfield yet again has been really disappointing. To fill this gap, I would have expected Pioli to modify the tactics to play a 3 man mid much earlier in the season. This should have been tested in pre-season frequently at the very least. I've also noticed we haven't even tried to play a 3rd mid in the cam role almost at all this year. Playing Krunic or Kessie there last year was very effective and allowed us to grind out results. It allowed us to essentially have a 3 man mid defensively, but also a mid higher up the pitch who could provide needed pressing. We don't have this at all when playing with Brahim or even CDK at CAM. It's crucial especially when playing with Giroud who can't provide the pressing energy of Rebic, for example, up top.

Just to throw out some more opinions of mine:

Dest has been a complete disaster and one of my least favourite Milan players in years. I never want to see him wear our shirt again. I would have liked to see Kalulu shifted back to RB in some games with Thiaw partnering Tomori.

Back-up LB has also been a disaster with FBT being pretty much unplayable. Putting it all on Theo is too much.

I agree that RW is a paramount need, but I also think that what Salad provides when he's on form gives us balance and is manageable. Too bad he's pretty much forgotten how to play the past year or so.

I also fully believe in CDK. He needs both time and playing time. I see the flashes like we saw with Tonali (albeit different) in their first disaster seasons. Not willing to comment on his subpar performances until half way into next season.

Back to the crisis: I strongly disagree with the Maldini haters. For me, it's all on ownership and Pioli. Maldini clearly has nothing to work with. Yes, he's made some mistakes, but all directors do. He got us to a Scudetto and he's still new to the job. Ownership silence has been disgusting, and I hope the pressure piles on when they realize some investment is necessary. They seem rigid, and they must understand that sometimes intervention is necessary even when you're following a specific growth system.

I want Pioli gone (his decisions tactically and team sheet wise this year have been baffling). But, I also don't think it would do anything at this point in the season. For me, he should get a bit more time this season. Bringing someone new now wouldn't help our chances at Inter next game in my opinion. Assuming he recovers soon, he should still be gone at the end of the season. Now is the time in our project to bring in a manager who can take us even higher (not sure who that is yet). Perhaps Gallardo, previously from River? I've watched a decent amount of South American football, and his team set ups were very impressive.

I hope to contribute more in the future, Forza Milan!

Bahahahaha it looks like Ziyech's dream move from Chelsea's bench to PSG's bench is offically OFF :lol::fp:

Therefore, just like I predicted, no serious team wants this guy who's way past his best and barely played all season.
