Question is, De Zerbi has financial backing, his own control over the Brighton project AND the "prestige" of coaching in the EPL.
What would entice him to Milan? Why would he even want to come back to coach another team in the same European competition he's already in.
Are we really talking about the pull for an Italian manager, between AC fucking Milan, and Brighton fucking Albion or wherever the shithole it is? Come on, our curva boys eat seagulls for breakfast.

Rube is already 8 points ahead of us, even their penalty won't help us reach the CL if we don't win all the games until the end.

...which is very debatable at this moment. :head:
Basically Samp and Verona games are must win. Depending on the point deduction, we’ll see if a draw vs Juve is even enough.

They some how win them all then they should be fine.

And what does curva boys eating shit for breakfast have anything to do with the paycheck and financial backing that Italian managers can get in the Prem.
Ancelotti went to Everton, Conte went to Spurs, De Zerbi is at Brighton.
You really think that we can offer a similar package at Milan?
Can't build a team with curva boys in the stands mate.

They'll be earning more in prize money in the EPL than whatever we have in Serie A.
Unless Gerry opens his purse strings, which most people here say he won't, then he ain't getting more money to spend at Milan than he would at Brighton.
Can't argue both ways just because you want De Zerbi here.
De Zerbi is a Milan youth product and I believe he would return here, perhaps not this upcoming season but the next one. At Sassuolo he had some great seasons and was a factor in the growth of Berardi, Boga, and even Locatelli who improved so much that Juve wanted him. He plays 4-2-3-1 very aggressive and his teams are fun to watch, plus he has a great personality as I've seen from his interviews and connects well with young players.. In two of his three seasons at Sassuolo De Zerbi finished 8th and when the Conference League began he had the same points as Roma but missed it on goal differential. He's by far my favorite choice to lead Milan.

Obviously most of us know de zerbi from his time managing sassuolo. But the most impressive thing I knew about him was the fact he left them in 2021 and went to coach shaktar in Ukraine and had them in top spot in the league when the war broke up. That shows some ambition and not like other Italian coaches who’s comfortable just languishing in serie A. He has obviously improved again in premier league even praised by Pep on tactics side of things. The only risk I see is if he can manage the pressure of a big club and the egos of the players, but it’s not like we have that many egotistical players in the squad anyway.
I remember he almost stopped his team from playing against us to protest the super league.

You’re right let’s give Padre another season for old times’ sake and when he fails to reach top 4 next season we might as well keep him for another year until his contract expires in 2025. It is Padre after all :proud:
Old times sake? We're playing a CL semi final in two days.

I think we can offer a better package than Brighton. They have no ambition, the best they can do is probably europa league in the next 10 years. If he comes to Milan he can play champions league in 2 years. I don’t think it’s even a comparison.

I don't think any top coach wants to live under the threat of losing his best players every transfer window

For now that won't change

Yes, but going into Europa League next season would put it back on schedule. Previously we were ahead, you know, by winning a Scudetto and being a step away from a Champions League final. Everything balances out.

You’re overestimating the PL. Brighton have around 200m in revenue. They’ll get more if they’re in Europe. We’re about to hit 350m.

What we need for CL is Juve getting penalized and us winning in Turin. Hope they get their point deduction confirmed soon.
Right now we just need to draw them. Don’t have to win. We must need to match their results and we’ll be ok, if they get docked 9 points as expected.

So, assuming we finish fifth but get fourth place because juve gets penalized, Roma finish 6th or 7th but goes to CL for winning Europa League, do we miss out on the Champions' League or will five Italian clubs make it?

The scenes when it gets announced Juve's penalty will get pushed back to next season

Putting this much faith in FIGC is something else

Then the hope will fall on UEFA.

I read that UEFA thing when it came out

The UEFA penalty is unrelated to the point deduction it has to do with finances which likely won't come to fruition

“I grew up in Milan. I lived at Milanello for three years and my football training comes from AC Milan, the real one. My football education comes from the Milan of Baresi, Tassotti, Maldini, Boban, Savicevic and Costacurta."

Why would this Italian man ever want to coach AC Milan?? :o

If Milan can’t win then the point deduction may not even matter. That would be truly embarrassing. Imagine Juve get like a 10 point penalty and still qualify.
