Or 4-3-1-2 with Leao as LSS free role. Modern football does not have so simetrical attacking formations as before. That front 3 can have much more lose roles.

When you stay too long at a club, you get very comfortable with your core, like in Pioli’s case with Diaz/Messias and he’ll rather rely on them than give the new signings a chance, because he’s more familiar with them.

he was benched for cdk at the beginning of the season and has rightfully reclaimed his spot.

for the RW position we have 2 'established' options: messias and saele. does it really make a difference which one plays?

It’s about cycles in my opinion. For example Mourinho is literally a comfortably a better coach than Conte yet it made sense to get rid of Mourinho for Conte because Mourinho cycle with Chelsea ran out. Conte brought them the league the next season.

15/16 mourinho wasn’t comfortably a better coach than conte. he was already on the decline but yeah they replaced an elite coach with another elite coach. 0 risk. i'm all for it, if we are able to replace pioli with spaletti.

You’re looking at purely from a result perspective which I can understand but my biggest issues with Pioli goes beyond that, it’s our lack of system, style of play etc. Inzaghi was underperforming with Inter but it never felt like system broke like Pioli has right now.

I’m fine with willing to give Pioli another season if we can his kind of players, that suit his system but I still prefer to move on from him.

I don’t want Charles to play all in the slightest, he’s finito in my eyes, as far as this season is concerned.

I rather see a 3rd midfielder in the CAM position. And yes I know Pobega isn’t ideal and I also blame the management for the lack of midfield quality but Diaz vs physical Inter side was suicidal.

But I get why Diaz played today vs relegation fodder team but against big teams, control more important imo. As for RW, personally I prefer Saele much more than Messias and Saele was in form lately. I find it a big deal, I don’t rate Messias.

I think we'll end up getting brahim for about 20. If he actually wants to stay RM don't really have a choice. They have no leverage to push for 30mil.

With that said, I'm not happy with brahim as a starting cam. At RW he looks quite good, but even so I see him maximum as a very good rotation option with another option. For 20mil, and countless years of decent contribution and sometimes clutch moments in big games, I am not opposed.

This team is being built to be self dependent which can never be done without a near perfect scouting network.

Squad is missing pieces that will make it hard to work regardless of the formation.
Also many individuals for basic positions that we have arent good enough.
