It seems Musah is a done deal. I am sad about it, I believe there are numerous midfielders who would elevate our game more. Musah is great at dribbling, but he has terrible defensive stats. Similarly we have RLC who is also great at dribbling, but sucks in defending. Then we Reijnders, who is a much more well rounded player than both, but it seems the weakest area in his game is also defending.

Pioli definitely had a huge role in our mercato. We are going all out on dribblers in midfield, trying to be a fast paced pressing and counter attacking team. It is a great weapon to have, but I feel like we are putting too much focus on this one aspect of our game. I believe unfortunately we are building a quite unbalanced midfield, where all players are too similar to each other. Rumours said that Hjulmand's agent proposed him to us, but we were not interested. He is not a dribbler, and significantly slower than Musah, and worse in transitions. But in every other aspect of the game, he is better than Musah, so for the rumoured 20mil price tag, I wish we would have gone for Hjulmand instead.

So far, my excitement level for our new signings are something like this:

1: Chuk - 10/10, he is our RW Leao, really excited to see him
2: Reijnders: 9/10, great box to box midfielder, he will have an important role for us next season
3: Okafor: 8/10, he is that fast, dynamic striker that we wanted ever since prime Rebic CF days, the player Maldini thought Origi could be
4: Pulisic: 8/10, great player, can play anywhere in attack, very versatile. Wouldn't question his ability, his skills, my only concern is his injury history
5: Romero: 7/10, I have a feeling Moncada found a Kalulu like gem in attack
6: RLC: 6/10, I was really against signing him. If our formation would still be 4-2-3-1, I would probably rate him 3/10, since he is a typical box-to-box midfielder, who is neither a DM or AM. Not gona lie, the fact he is not non-eu now, and we are planning to play in a 4-3-3 made me a bit more optimistic regarding RLC being a useful player for us.
7: Sportiello: 5/10, free, low wages, good for the lists, and a better Maignan backup than Tata. Hopefully Maignan will be healthy, and we will never see Sportiello play in an actual match.
8: Musah: 3/10, for the rumoured price, he is a really bad deal, and one that I think will flop for us. He seems like a marketing move, and american Bertolacci. He is still 20, so has plenty of room to improve, but currently he is a worse player than Pobega.
Musah gets compared to players that are 4/5 years older like Hjulmand or Dominguez, and while of course you have to decide between them it is still not a fair comparison. A 20 yo player can be thought things. Apart from Romero he would be the youngest player in the first team, Okafor is 3 years older for example and it feels like he is seen as more trainable in comparison.

Doubting Musah, the future star of American Calcio Milan. :head:

Anti-American racism at it's finest.

Cherry on top this mercato would be if he returns in the squad manager role.

Would absolutely LOVE it if Donnarumma signed for Juve and then howled himself out of existence in the first game vs us at San Siro.
😂

I want him at inter more.
But Wherever he is going (in Serie A) , just grab your popcorn.
The league will get much more entertaining.

I never thought of the possibility of a Calhanoglu sale by Inter but it makes a ton of sense from a plusvalenza prospective as they got him for free. That would explain why they went for Samardzic though at the moment Hakan is a better player who could easily fetch 40 million in today's mercato. The Cuck's professed love for Inter means nothing but the increased salary in the EPL will make him love his new team even more. Their midfield will look somewhat like ours with no DM but in a 3-5-2 you don't really need one. I still rate our mercato number one with Inter second but these moves confirm the brilliance of Marotta that many here dispute. Inter last season had a horrible beginning but a fantastic finish when they were clearly the best team in the league but I think overall they will be weaker but still good enough to finish top four.
They are favourites for scudetto imo. Unless we get a dm and a proper CF, our team looks more top 3. Also we have ucl

I have to give it to negativity squad, Musah is on paper a weird pick after RLC and Reijnders.

Let's hope the scouting is good and that he is moldable into a DM. RLC and Tijj for sure won't be.

AC Milan needs desperately a new logo.
The badge we have now is meaningless.

Who or what is our symbol? The stripes? The cross?

Look at the Ferrari logo

We all know the main color is the red but they didn't put it in the badge.

It would be nice if Milan have something maybe white with a cool devil in it.
You want a white devil?

I see Musah as vice RLC. Physical dribbler for the right Mezzala role. Pobega/Adli will probably be Tij’s backups for now

Right now on paper Inter and Napoli if they keep Osihmen with us and Juve also contending. If every one of our transfers work out and if they mesh quickly we have a chance but a slow start would be disastrous and we have a tough schedule to begin with.

Guys would you sell Bennacer in the winter Merceto for Arabs?
I would sell Bennacer for the same value we got for Tonali. And sign Morten Hjulmand in return. I would like to keep Bennacer, but he has been injured a lot lately. If there is a possibility, we should start a request for Pavard. Kessie on loan for one year. As a striker I would like to have Santiago Gimenz in the team.

Amazing how we’ve spent all this money and Krunic (4th choice midfielder, debatable even 5th choice) is going to be starting DM next season.
This is my biggest concern about this mercato so far...

Rebic and Messias?

Who's Besiktas SD? Maldini?
They should buy Origi too, for that farmer league where Borini can score 20 goals, Messias-Rebic-Origi is going to be extremely good.

I mean yeah I don't like the guy but he's pretty underrated at this point defensively

If you gave me my pick out of the 3 midfielders last season to sit back and play cleanup it would be Krunic sadly
What intellectual honesty looks like.

I’m expecting after gabbia, the likes of Rebic, Messias, Origi, FBT will be gone

Also there’s rumour about Kjaer’s departure

So despite the shocking numbers, it all makes sense

I still say Kessie on normal wages and our team is 20% stronger instantly. Play 4231 with Reijnders at '10".

Scudetto

Has anyone actually thought for a second how good our lineup would look like with Bennacer in it? He offers the perfect skill set for what we need right now as the central midfielder. He's press resistant, can dictate tempo and is excellent at breaking up play. There's absolutely no need to sell him in the Winter window unless a ludicrous offer comes. I wouldn't write him off just because of his injury. It makes more sense to plan for his return given his technical profile, age and the mere fact he's proven for us. I'm licking my lips just thinking about the Reijnders - Bennacer - RLC midfield.
