“Realistic” for what goal?

Top 4 and going into the knockouts in CL? Aren’t we too ambitious for that? And if the goal is same as Pioli, but you’d have to both pay Pioli off and hire this new person, might as well just keep Pioli.

Affordable how?

Guys never been out of South America, let alone experience coaching in Italy. What if he fails the objective? We don’t have to look at the cost of missing out in CL knockouts and money from matches lost like we have to factor in when replacing Pioli? This argument that we can afford to fire Pioli if you just factor in other income lost due to losing, does it not apply to Gallardo or any of these replacements?

If he fails, do we eat the loss and give him one more season or fire him right away. If we fire him right away, we’d be paying both Pioli and his severance. If we give him another season, we risk missing out on more CL money as this guy has never shown he can get top 4 in Serie A.

Hiring every new coach always comes with a risk. We can be worse, or we can be better. We truly won’t know. There will be no guarantees.

Hiring Ange was a risk Spurs took and it worked out well for them. Hiring Potter was a risk Chelsea took and it didn’t work out. It’s impossible to know.

This is where the management comes in and assess the situation.

With Pioli we have had 4 years of his coaching and we have an idea of how he works and we think he isn’t good enough anymore.

With others coaches, there is a chance they can be much superior to Pioli. Also a chance they can be worse, it’s up to the management to think that risk is worth it.

But again, I do not necessarily want to fire Pioli right now. I’m suggesting this in the event we don’t make it out of CL groups. In that event, to me you have to fire him asap.

I know Krunic has a role in rotating/resting the squad and is an alright option to have around, but I would love for Youssouf Fofana to come in the summer for free and take Rade's place in the rotation. Or maybe Federico Redondo. His contract is up at the end of 2024.

Pobega is needed for homegrown talent right now, but I'm looking forward to better depth. Fofana or Redondo would add another player to look forward to a bit more. Pobega is more like a player to throw on with a solid lead at the end of a match or for Coppa matches. Although he does have a good shot on him from distance and is a candidate to surprise us with a strike from distance.

Mark this as the beginning of my Fofana and Redondo campaign

Alright I’ll be honest, did not realize that he was paid that much. Good lord that’s crazy. I thought it would be around 8-10 mil but he’s making almost double that. Well De Zerbi it is then for me. I hope Pioli finishes out the year strong but I’m a believer that his cycle with us is over and we need to move on to someone with new ideas to take us to the next level.
Salary is only one of many reasons why Klopp is well beyond our reach, the main reason being that he has a contract with Liverpool until 2026.

I'm saying it here for 2 years Fik needs to play as a RIGHT cb. Not on the left. It frees him up more.

I know he covers up for Theo but he ain't got the left foot...
Tomori still has the best weak foot of our CBs though, left footed CBs are not that plenty.

Is this confirmed?

Resting RLC isn’t the worst thing he got fouled a lot and played an intense 90 few days back and he was just coming from an injury. We do need to manage his fitness better.

Although I don’t like Pobega and Krunic both , I’d rather move one of them and add adli in there.

I guess Reinjnders will play CAM then
Pobega is not the worst RLC stand in from the physical side, he doesn‘t have the technique of course.

Adli is back in the dungeons, where he was always intended to be put…I mean Pioli clearly told him that at the beginning of the season…then emergency and he “masterfully unleashed” him.

When Bennacer returns and if we make it to the next round of CL and somebody needs (?) to be dropped off the list to register him, first name to fall …

Hopefully he get some last minutes here and there before Bennacer is back.

It makes no sense. Nonsense.

Adli literally is perfect CAM. At least against lecce
If you really needed to rotate: Pobega-Krunic as a double pivot with Adli as CAM would make too much sense.

I guess this is just difference in people viewing life and how they navigate it. Philosophies. But My stupid brain cannot grasp The logic of let’s stay with something that’s clearly no longer working and that we’re unanimous that can’t go further than it is right now, because the next one may not be good.
That’s life (for me). You move to the next one when the last one no longer works.
You don’t stay in shit, saying “maybe the next step will be shittier…🤷‍♂️

Besides choosing the right coach is part of the management job, so if they’re not good at choosing a good (right) coach as the next (or sticking with one), then it is what it is. You reap what you saw. Simple.

its not like Eng wants him... play him and rest him for international week
Yeah but if he’s really gassed from last game into break won’t matter if he gets injured today

This is too much...
This guy has been so lucky.
Won a scudetto that lets be honest Inter choked and threw at the end.
After that reached semi-final in CL with one of the easiest draws.
It is time to upgrade and get someone serious at the helm (not Potter).

Win against psg was a band-aid on a bullet wound.

Its so clear that we are disgustingly bad with zero ideas.

Will the last one please turn off the lights?

Ac Milan coach policy. If you win scudetto you have 2 years bonus regardless if you play good or bad. You can't get relegated of course.
