There were those who were loyal to the true throne and then there were heathens.

No, that's your derogatory term. I saw what Maldini did as leadership, and the only voices I've seen expressing dislike at this has been by geniuses on RnB.

I don't think it is the lack of Maldini that is the reason for our current woes, far from it. I think it's injuries and Pioli not coping.

That's again derogatory speculation. He's allowed to express himself, and people want to hear it.
He's allowed to express himself NOW.
But when you're an employee of the company, airing out your grievances to a third party national newspaper is a big No-No. Regardless of which Company or organization that you work for.

If you have issues with how management is going about things, you try to fix it internally, you don't take an interview with Gazetta and try to appeal for "more funding" for the next mercato in a way that makes the Company you are working for look bad.

From what i see the majority of people ( not of the press ) side with Maldini, overall i see Redbird, Furlani and most of all Scaroni less popular after Dortmund and this Interview. The fanbase want a real president and a figure in the management that breathes football, also most people believe Lega Serie A fucked us on the schedule because Scaroni is a 0
So basically the interview has turned the fans against management when they need to steady the ship. As ambivalent as I am about Furlani Scaroni and Gerry, that's just FUCKING GREAT. :ibraugh:

the flame... in form of a skull?
No you creep lol... A burning out candle in a broken light bulb.

It's all symbolic about modern life moving quickly, we depend on the older ways off doing things, but the old ways burn out in the end and are we any further forwards sometimes...

So profound lol... I'm such a wanker at time haha

"On the other hand, after three months of work, Boban and Massara and I were called to London by the owners and CEOs and practically delegitimized: the various Leao, Bennacer and Theo were not liked. But a path was needed. I always remember where we started from."

This part was probably the most concerning. Off what basis were these signings not right for Milan?

It seems as if Maldini is accentuating what many Milan fans feared about American owners such as these. Algorithms but little football knowledge, no care for the development of players (apparently) and no soul. Maybe their ideas are ambitious but deluded? Gerry wants to win the Champions League. He wanted to see a more intense Milan (which he saw in the first 3 games, as unsustainable as it was).

My feeling is that Paolo is right to a degree. Maybe there are some gaps that need to be addressed still.

But his remarks about the players chosen this window and the stadium just sound salty. He is trying to discredit RB in every way, shape and form. From a branding/marketing point of view they know what they're doing. From a footballing perspective it remains to be seen, but Paolo found the most opportune time, with CL group qualification all but gone + terrible form, to basically stick the knife in and say "I told you so".

To him this is vindication, but I don't necessarily see us doing any better with him there. In the end this is a Pioli and fitness problem, and that would've stayed regardless.

So one of the only offensive weapons we have left (who won us the game against Fiorentina), who is simultaneously lacking in focus and motivation right now, could play CB?

I can't way for this car crash to happen.
It took 2+ seasons and numerous injuries for them to fire Pioli’s fitness staff.

it’d took relegation to fire Pioli.

I dare you to tattoo Pioli with his sippy cup if we win the league this season.

Maldini should have been a figurehead to waive to cameras and take a few interviews, not someone involved in core sporting operations. But his ego was too big to allow for such a peripheral role.

Imagine, he can wow Thierry Henry in an interview while meanwhile, competent professionals like Moncada can actually go out and sign real players like Enzo
Maldini personally signed your favorite Milan player, there's a 89 percent chance.

To be fair they were unhappy after 3 months so at that point we are at the end of Giampaolo era, that wasn't out of the blue.

The hypocrisie in that Twitter post

I mean let's dig out some RnB posts about Leao and Bennacer from that time and we'll see the Majority of this board was very suspicious about this two transfers

But hey let's act now like they all had our unconditional support from the beginning. We never said Leao is lazy and buying players from a relegated team is not da Milan. Nah, only fools from America would question those transfers.

CDK too. One big love story from start to finish.

Theo too lately has more support than ever. I think by now everyone has already pointed out that he played every game between league, CL and national team, and more often than not 90 minutes.

No? No??

I don’t get why they don’t make Bartesaghi into a CB, he’s a big boy

why would they be happy with Bennacer?

Little shit came over from Empoli who was relegated and demanded to insert a 50m clause as if he’s too good for this club. During the international breaks his Algerian manager openly made fun of Milan and its training regimen for being unprofessional, I wonder who spilled the beans so he can have this chance to kick us when we are down. Mind you nobody from the club said anything bad about him.

He was also a driving factor for switching to the double pivot too. Games against Fiorentina and Atalanta were maddening

TBF, raise your hand if you never doubted if Maldini after his first three months at the whelm, after handpicking GP, after loosing 5:0 to Atalanta and after sitting on 13th place with the Scudetto out of reach, wasn't out of his depth.

Mind you, that wasn't the year Leao took off (Rebic was our star). Bennacer was picking up red cards left and right. We were hoping that Maldini would do his fucking job and sell off Kessie to Westham for 25M. The club was bleeding somewhat like 200M per year iirc before Covid and we barely challenged for an EL spot despite having nothing but Serie A to fight for. If you think things look dire now, try to remember how desperate things really were back then. Of course Elliott was concerned and asking its management for explanation!

Now Maldini using words like delegitimation and so forth is his somewhat emotional POV, but tbh, that he was challenged at that point in time makes absolute sense.

I hope Pioli knows what he's doing. Eventhough he didn't give us much reason recently to have faith.

On the other hand, starting a Primavera guy in the centre of our defence could turn out to be a car wreck just as easily.

Maybe he should put Calabria in the center and let Florenzi take the right flank. But then we don't have any subs in defence (on top of not having any subs in attack too).

It's a fucked situation no matter how you turn and twist it. Fucking injuries, the real bane of this season. :(

The latest are Krunic and not Reijnders and Theo confirmed as CB, now i really don't understand why we don't trust a 18yo who won the Youth League group and is second in the Primavera standing at his natural position instead to change Theo position or at the very least put Bartesaghi at CB he kinda reminds me of Bastoni

Pioli doesn't understand it either.
Remains to be seen if Gerry will sack him after a loss vs Frosinone (I highly doubt)
