I know RLCs stock is low in here these days, but I think he will be a very valuable player for us this season and beyond. Just look to his performance against PSG, that may have been the best of a Milan player all season. With that being said he should be held to higher standards by the coach, his performances are too inconsistent. But the various psychological defects that get attributed to him in here I think are exaggerated.

RLC risks becoming the next Krunic in terms of how people see him.

Has the odd decent performance and Pioli likes him, but he's frustrating, limited and isn't starting quality.

I agree with pretty much everything you say... It's like Pioli has some fetish for a bang average midfielder being played out of position in the CAM/DCAM.

I can't really fault RLC for being RLC, but what the fuck were upper management and Pioli thinking!

We'll squeeze every last bit of sap outta tree and hope Jovic can contribute...

I don't have many issues with this decision by management, it is what it is.

This season could go either way and I'm not sure a big outlay is what the owners want to do given the uncertainty of success.

Risk management wise, don't spend much in January and achieve top 4, upper management happy... Get the stadium deal agreed, Coolaid drinking fans happy.

Again, it is what it is... This year is totally another year zero despite the promises in the summer.

I'd be shocked if someone at Casa Milan or in Conte's entourage leaked the information that it's basically done anytime before a few weeks from the season's end. It's not what the team needs; they need to focus on this season and follow Pioli as convinced as possible (like it or not). And it's also not what Pioli deserves. After all, he's still the coach who brought us back in the CL after half a decade, a Scudetto after a decade, and a CL Semifinal after more than a decade. And he has never uttered one tone against the people who employ him; absolute top professional behavior.

Unless results suddenly plummet again, he deserves to end this season in dignity. Or well, fire him now and replace him immediately with Conte. But leaking premature rumors about a deal with Conte basically set in stone while he's still our coach for another couple of months, that's not what he deserves.

Guy seems a great team player and obviously well liked by team mates its baffling really and he clearly has been determined to stay at Milan and prove himself which I respect immensely

Maybe it's just simple personal taste. Even here, you see people completely disagreeing whether Bennacer is a top-level midfielder or a mediocre little midget with some fighting spirit. Depending on who among us would be the Milan coach, you'd see Bennacer start every game or none of them - with an entire RnB forum discussing back and forth why that person prefers Musah over Bennacer, to name an example.

I mean we hardly have anything to play for. If Inter dont fall apart Serie A is objectively finished. We are out of the CL and Europa league is hardly a prize worth splashing out for since this team being healthy is good enough to challenge for it.

I dont think its sensible to overspend in january when the whole winter mercato is more or less meant to fill holes and everyone overcharges anyway. So lets fill those holes and be done with it.

We arent moving up, we probably arent falling down either. So IMO the club should already have one eye on the next season when we change the coach.

I understand people wanting a different (more mobile) type of CF to start most of our games but he scored, assisted, and defended set pieces last night

I'm thinking of getting the 4th kit - if worth the design - with Adli's name on it. What a great example of a player who not only refused to accept his role as a reserve but who did it by training hard and nontheless supporting the shit out of the team to finally deserve his spot in the sun. He could have left for Sampdoria months ago; that would've been the easiest way, but nope, he took the hard route and without saying one word against the people who initially didn't believe in him.

Now he's certainly no Zidane. Or Theo. But... he's such a fantastic and inspirational example for everyone. I hope he'll have a great career here with us.

Ii don't think you've understood me, I've said I get why management wouldnt spend in January.

The issues from this season won't be fixed this month, a new manager comes in the summer and it's another year zero in a lot of senses.

The thing we build on in the summer is the players we've collected over the past 4 years, that make up our spine... That's a positive.

But I dare say when we look back at this season, it could be with a sense of "what could have been".
