On Radio Rossonera they said the rendering of the stadium in San Donato has been choosen. Soon meetings will be scheduled in San Donato at the Crowne Plaza hotel to expose the project
Exclusive image of what the new stadium will look like.

I feel like this Buongiorno guy is no better then Gabbia. If we flipped and put Gabbia in Torino and Buongiorno here, people would be willing to spend 20m for Gabbia and ignore Buongiorno. Typical "grass is greener on the other side" situation here.
at least "Gabbia"s name sounds better

Buongirono is top cb ,have speed ,great heading abilities, left footed, cheap wages.
Compering him to gabbia is just insane.
I haven't see a lot of him. So I can't say for sure. What I have seen doesn't scream top potential to me, and definitely not someone that will displace Tomori or Thiaw rught now.
I will trust you and hope you are right if we end up spending and buying him. But I don't think comparing him to Gabbia is insane. What exactly has he done in his career so far to be compared to anyone else? Would he start ahead of Tomori and Thiaw? Highly doubt that. So imo he's coming in a backup/rotation CB. So who do I compare him to?

At the the of the day, my hesitation is mostly in the fact that Pioli's cycle is 99% over. I would rather wait until the summer and spend to build with whoever will be in charge next.

While I don't rate Buongiorno extremely highly, I do certainly think he is certainly better than Gabbia. Overall better read, more physical and stronger in the air. There's a reason he got called up to the senior NT. And I thought he did quite well when he did play for Italy. He has the tools. You feel as if Inter or Juve sign him he'd turn into a world beater.
I don't think getting a call to the Italian NT is anything special or anything to go by these days. Of course I exaggerated with Gabbia. But if I'm honest, I'm not sold that Buongiorno will do better here. And as I said above, when healthy, Tomori and Thiaw would start ahead of him.

Gabbia is not as slow as people make him out to be, he is not fast but surely normal pace for a CB. He is also good in the air, that‘s about it but as a back up he is absolutely fine, no need to talk him down.

Gabbia was very good against Roma. Interesting to see how will turn out after a few more games. His physique and aggression/confidence seems to have gone up a notch too

Pep has been saying this for over the last decade. Everything Pep does is an extension of Cruyff.

He won them a trophy and Roma don't win trophies and haven't since 07/08 season. Was Bose a failure sure because they didn't qualify for the CL/challenge for top 4 which was his remit. But he wasn't a total/huge failure.

Roma have a top 3 attack in Serie A, you could even make a case for it being the strongest. Midfield and defense get a lot more meh, but they should be top5.
Edit: That being said, getting DDR as a coach is likely making things worse.

Doesnt matter - they are way off the pace
And the manager throws more fits and has suspensions than doing well against the better opposition.

He did bring them some recognition but if the owners want to build a 'winner' then they are right in moving on from him.

Inter will not be able to make the second team next year, they don't have the money and the fields to be able to make it happen quickly, Milan is much ahead in this sense.

Attack? You mean 2 good players out of 25. Their team is trash

Dybala & Lukaku will leave in the summer. They'll be starting over.

What makes them a top 3 attack? Because they have Dybala and Lukaku? what is this Americano NBA nonsense?

If you think about them having the third highest wage bill in the league and having players like Lukaku and Dybala it looks bad but the rot at Roma is extreme. To me Mourinho wasn't the problem even with his horrid football. It's tough to unify a team of mercenaries with fitness issues.. There's a constant cloud of fear over Roma. Severe debt issues, management issues. It's a sinking ship. Roma has to start over like we did investing in youth with the odd star and be patient. What they did in these last few windows was asking for trouble. Mourinho tried his usual diversionary tactics to deflect from all this madness but he could only do so much. I'll miss him because he's box office and a character this league needs..

I really hope we see a B team next season. I know the new Youth Director has made it a priority

It has been such a success for Juve and a primary source for their influx of talent

Pellegrini, Abraham are strong players, Belotti and SES good back ups. Their first choice CBs are not that bad either, most questionable part are their wingbacks for playing with 5atb, those are imo costing them.

Juve have really excelled recently with young players. Whether that's them playing in the first team or selling/using them in other deals.

Mourinho (willingly) created enemies the entire time he was there. He then used those enemies to always have an excuse when things didn't go his way (which happened A LOT at Roma). But it's what he does everywhere he goes. Creates an "us vs the world" environment. Roma fans are so starved for any success, they actually love the guy. Even when he feeds them shit left and right, their team played shit football, got shit results, etc....they still backed him. He was smart to be on the side of the fans with the whole Bonucci thing just recently also. The guy does everything in a premeditated manner.

But their goal has always been top 4. They didn't hire him and pay him a shit ton to finish outside of the top 4 every year. He failed at that. And the Friedkins probably got tired of him bitching about how his squad is of low quality and how he lacks options, blah blah. Also, the fiascoes with the referees became a monthly special. It became embarrassing.
I do think he had a certain pull with players on the market, for example Dybala and Lukaku. But at the end of the day, he plays antiquated football and his antics and mental tactic bullshit no longer works. Everybody can smell the rat's bullshit from a mile away (except Roma fans, apparently).
