Strong, quick, goal threat and will surely be sold for a very reasonable fee.
CB is definitely the position that is the easiest to find cheap players who can quickly x 4 their value.

Tomori definitely needs a player like him by his side and with Thiaw struggling so hard - something needs to be done.
I'd get both Vitik and Buongiorno. And look to loan Thiaw out.

At our peak, we used to always have one CM sit between the defenders while Theo went forward - Think it was usually Kessie?
This kid has everything. Maybe not as physical as Kessie but look at those long balls?! Product of Sporting youth academy. Already been in Germany and Switzerland..

I got my Summer dream signing last year with Reijnders - now go get this Veiga. Could give them Simic on loan in return too

If Giroud leaves, I still think it should be a new striker, Okafor and perhaps a young striker with high ceiling. Pulisic could even step up, if we aren't totally sure on Okafor.

You know that's a Lazovic, Roback, or Pellegri right? I rather keep Jovic as third choice.

No way I am trading someone who has a track record of performing and is on reasonable wage to pay a transfer fee for a scratch off with "high ceiling" and watch them sit on the bench

Not sure what the plan will be to bring in a DM but there's two young players that I would target -- Mandela Keita and Renato Veiga

We haven't been linked to Mandela Keita from what I know but he's a beast from a defensive standpoint (he averages 2+ tackles and 2+ interceptions per game) and also an accurate passer (nearly 89% passing accuracy). He plys his trade in Belgium which may make some pause when considering the transition to Serie A, but I think he could step in and play a role right away. He has had some Champions League experience with Antwerp. They have a obligation to buy at the end of the season (not sure of the conditions but it is apparently for around 8m). I imagine that he could be had for around 15m

Renato Veiga is a player that we have had some links to and another from a lower tier league as he plays for Basel but had some Bundesliga experience last year. He is a DM but has some experience with playing CB. I think he would be a player that would take some time to grow into some play time but has a lot of great tools to become something special. Basel's struggles and thinking about how Calafiori was let go for less than 5m after one year with them, I imagine that Veiga could be scooped up for less than 10m. Basel bought him from Sporting for 4m last year and would be able to make a quick profit, especially considering it looks like they have a chance of being relegated

-- One of them (or both?) along with Jorginho to add an experienced presence and mentor to the midfield (he's free) would be ideal from my perspective, especially if Bennacer ends of being sold.

Adli, Reijndeers, RLC, Musah, Jorginho, and Mandela Keita as the midfielders for 433 -- snatch up Veiga, give him the summer then loan him within Serie A to grow and adjust.

We were on the same wavelength with Veiga. Do you think he'd be ready to play in the first team yet? I'd worry about that jump to Serie A

That statement might not mean we're blowing £100/150 million to fill 2/3 big holes in our starting 11.

This management hasn't shown any interest in spending its own money and the books might say we're on the black, but by how much and what do we have to actually spend to stay in the black?

It's a healthy sign, but I'm still buckled up for a less interesting summer than last, hopefully less drama.

Okafor has started just 5 in the league. Only twice did he start at CF. Total 710 mins - 6 goals + 1 assist

Cagliari 1-3 Milan - Scores the first goal and equalizer. 27/09/23

Verona 1-3 Milan

Jovic has started 7 in the league at CF and has 774 mins. 6 goals + 1 assist.

I don't think its unreasonable to think Okafor deserves his chance now at CF - given that Jovic looks so uninvolved. Okafor is younger and been just as deadly, with less backing and playing out wide. Try him as a number 9 and I'm confident he'll silence the argument that Jovic is a better 9. I think he's already proven that though..

So you want Jovic as a third choice or second chance? Clarify. If it's as 2nd choice. Wow. Big risk. Firstly he's not good enough. He's proven that. We only start him against the weakest sides and he doesn't impact the game. He only ever impacts the game when he has a partner next to him, we are going gung ho and he's come off the bench. If it's as third choice...then I'd argue that it's too costly. His wage is too high for that role. And his wage alone could be used for a young player. And that argument is laughable. Because Roback, Lazovic etc failed, we should give up trying to find a good young striker? So much is wrong with that. Pellegri and Roback weren't bought by this management and I'm quite sure Lazovic wasn't either.

He was a big factor in us not playing well. 7 starts in the league and he never stands out. He gets goals off the bench when we are desperate for goals and he has to have a partner.
And I disagree with you. It's the easiest position in this team. Once we buy a good striker, they'll score 20 easily. Probably close to 30. Been saying this for quite a while.

He doesn't deserve to be renewed. Not good enough as a back up. Too costly for 3rd choice.
