His answer to why he played Thiaw and Gabbia in a high line was ‘to deny the opposition the dribbling”. I wonder what his explanation for why he played Calabria in midfield instead of Reijnders or Adli.Pioli was asked and answered:
Mlhitaryan is 35 years old, come on. I also doubt they can get 50-60m for Thuram, there are better strikers out there going for less. But yeah they have pieces to sell but those two for example aren’t that ‘heavy’ on the books. They’re growth decree and came in for free, so no amortization. Selling them is good profit, but if they keep the heavy players then they won’t really make a dent in their losses each year. Can they not flip Thuram for like 50-60 m and Mkhitaryan for like 20m, both were signed free I believe and their replacement is already signed from free agent zelinski and taremi.
Dp beat Max twice. Gaeyje beat DP last time. Max beat gaetje.
It never works. Same in football. Match ups matter.
True but doesn’t make the shitty feeling of the season any better.Whatever else could be said about current management, the fact that injuries and lacklustre results in key fixtures yet still 2nd is deemed not good enough - that speaks to ambition.
I like it. Things are moving in the right direction unless the new coach faceplants, or quality players decide to leave.
Can we get to the part where RedBird and Elliot sue the pants off of FIGC, the Gazettas and the Prosecutors office for defamation and unlawful investigation without cause?Cardinale said
I would like to clarify the facts once and for all: RedBird is the controlling shareholder of 99.93% of AC Milan; the remaining 0.07% is made up of individual Italian investors who are long-time fans of the club". Then a clarification also on the role of the New York Yankees: "I have also asked the New York Yankees to invest a small minority share together with RedBird as part of our overall investment, given the strong 25-year partnership I have with them"
"Elliott provided a loan to RedBird with a three-year term and zero governance rights. This loan is no different to any other third-party financing we could have obtained, with the added benefit that Elliott brought a track record of improving AC Milan prior to our acquisition"
"I have just arrived and I have no intention of selling Milan. My goal is to build a solid and winning reality. Why should I give up ownership? There are no talks with any investor who could obtain control or governance of Milan."
"We are in second place. And we will never stop aiming to win"
“Sports is one of the fundamental elements of my platform idea. Our portfolio of sports activities represents a total value of 30 billion dollars, of which 5 billion dollars of value for the companies we have created. I believe in the model of ' public private partnership', which is based on the union between communities and between those who have money and those who don't. The case of Milan is perfect There is the ownership, which is RedBird. There is the fan community and there is the city."
This is my biggest disappointment in Pioli. I loved him because he was so humble and lovable during right until he won. He turned into such an arrogant man almost overnight.Oh man they're asking about his successor in public
This motherfucker is gonna throw the derby so hard and pull an Adebayor in front of the curva
Nobody will pay 20m for Mkhitaryan. He's 35.Can they not flip Thuram for like 50-60 m and Mkhitaryan for like 20m, both were signed free I believe and their replacement is already signed from free agent zelinski and taremi.
Yeah, Pioli is gonna forget last Derby disaster and play Calabria as a midfielder again in his "inverted fullback" tactic. You heard it here first. There is a time until tomorrow . Maybe we will see some surprise like with the Roma game .

May get accused of racism by the few Bennacer fans when he greenlights his sale/benches him. What are the drawbacks with Galtier?
Seems like one of the more "ready" names.
He's a cranky old racist. What are the drawbacks with Galtier?

You forget that on their best UCL results season they still made a 85M net loss.Didn't Inter already cut salary costs a lot last season? Now they just have to cut a bit more to reach break even level. Then they can run Inter the same way that RB has been running Milan.....
Both Inter and Milan have similar revenues with Inter's being a bit higher. But the difference between the big clubs and the not so big clubs is revenue.
This feels like something a writer decided ‘ hey there’s enough circumstantial links between Galtier and Milan to write a 200 word article, let’s go with it’According to the French outlet L’Equipe, as cited by MilanNews, Milan have scheduled a meeting with the entourage of Galtier for next week. The Frenchman is currently the manager of Al Duhail in Qatar after his PSG tenure came to an abrupt end, keen on managing a big club again.
When he was the manager of Lille, he worked with the likes of Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan, winning the league with the club in 2020-21. The Portuguese winger had left the club at that point, joining Milan in the summer of 2019, but Galtier helped him make the most of his potential.
Furthermore, as the report concludes, Galtier is a friend of Theo Hernandez’s family after playing with the full-back’s father at Toulouse. Should Milan move for a target such as Jonathan David, currently at Lille, Galtier’s candidacy could grow even stronger.
Milan have several candidates on their list, though, so nothing has been decided.
It wasn’t even an inverted fullback at Roma, he was THE midfielder. Musah was playing RB. It was insane.Yeah, Pioli is gonna forget last Derby disaster and play Calabria as a midfielder again in his "inverted fullback" tactic. You heard it here first.![]()
I thought his Lille was super impressive in the EL against us. Plus he won the Ligue 1 title with them ahead of PSG, which is a huge accomplishment in France. I expected he'd do a lot better at PSG than he did because i thought hed guide them to a deep CL run, but lost to Bayern. In any case, at the end of the day, it's not like he did any worse than other managers there (a list that includes Carlo and Pochettino for example). I think he'd be a good choice for the group we already have in place. What are the drawbacks with Galtier?
Seems like one of the more "ready" names.
Ok I might be thinking Ruben Amorim?Contract t expired in june
Isn't Sheva now the head of the Ukranian football Federation? Its interesting that Sheva wasnt mentioned in any of the coach rumours.
Every other name was thrown outthere apart from his
"Christophe Galtier was cleared of accusations of racism on Thursday after the former Nice and Paris Saint-Germain coach stood trial on charges of psychological harassment and discrimination. 21. des. 2023"He's a cranky old racist.
Oh, I didnt know that. So he changed his career direction. Makes sense thenIsn't Sheva now the head of the Ukranian football Federation?
Don't think he'd step down to be a coach after rising up so high. Even for Milan.
