I watched him yesterday and he was fantastic, scored on a header like a true number 9. I was one of his harshest critics but he's like a different player this season and MOM yesterday with votes of 7s and 71/2 by Italian publications. Yes, a lot of the credit goes to Gasperini but CDK has put in the work to improve tremendously and kudos to him for that.
I remember when he was almost invisible with us but at Atalanta he's all over the pitch, seems stronger, much better passer, and has improved defensively. Don't know if he would have improved so much at Milan but Gasp has an incredible knack at making players better. He did it with Suso at Genoa, Pasalic after he left us, even Scamacca lately and so many others. Why can't we get coaches like that?
That's why I've always believed Gasperini is the best coach we could have. The players excel because Gasperini implements an effective tactical plan that they comprehend and can execute to secure victories on the field. When the plan succeeds and the players are content, the team becomes more unified and driven. In addition to achieving good results, their scouting is commendable, but their sales department was even more fantastic, often selling players for far more than their estimated value.

Cardinale Sala meeting is over. Cardinale already met the management this morning to talk about the new coach.

I think that within the end of this week the decision will be announced
I envision Sala asked Cardinale to reconsider and the reply was:

Nothing will be officially announced until we secure CL spot, but i think we will know who the coach is going to be within Friday, at least we will know who is still in this race

Pretty sure Conte is already wrapped unfortunately
Oh no... how unfortunate going to a coach who boosts our Scudetto chances considerably...

Not going to deny the fact that he is "boosting our chances" but i still hate his character and the way he acts and all of that.
He will have to do A LOT of great things with elegance to earn respect here....also i just hope he will not destroy everything we`ve built for the past 4-5 years with stupid decisions and stupid money requests and all of that.

He's perfect for Atalanta. He's to them what Berardi is to Sassuolo. I still doubt he has the mindset to pull this off at a big club though. Just the other day he admitted he doesn't want to return to Milan because he doesn't want to sit on the bench. What kind of Dest statement is that!?

He could have said: "I feel well at Atalanta. I like it here. But if I was to return to Milan, I want to show how much I've learned this year and prove that I can be a crucial player at a big club like Milan too."

Note the difference?

On the other hand, you have Adli for example who fought tooth and nail to cut his space and refused to take the easy route. Wouldn't surprise me even a little bit if he ends up having the greater career eventhough he's probably not as talented as Charles.

Everywhere he went he left a tornado behind him..a tornado that always started while he was still there..
Each team he left won a trophy within a year except Tottenham.

We have won 1 major trophy in the last 15 years, only thing he can destroy here is this fanbase beta mentality.

It's OK we'll end up with Romanian coach Lopetegui instead, better?

This is true. Those statements by Charles were very disconcerting.

But if he were to return I would expect a new coach to make the most of him. He's not some fodder anvil returning to sender.

With that being said I expect us to sell him to another club if Atalanta decide against the option.

Our weak mentality in big games, hopefully.

I think his statement showed he knows he likely replicate that here and isn't willing to try, the pressure may be too much. At Atalanta he has a system he works in, in his favored role, without the pressure of Milan.

Not very a diplomatic one but honest statement . Not that bad , but I am agree with you . I am also not sure how well he will fit here . But now everything it will depend from the next coach if we have a new one .

It just shows me that he hasn't the dawg in him to be successfull on the big stages of european football. He wants a place where he's appreciated and where he doesn't have to prove his worth each and every day in every training session before the coach calls up the starting formation for the next game. At Atalanta, he doesn't have that kind of competition for his spot. At Atalanta, he has his peace of mind. And if he vanishes for a couple of weeks (like it happened again in March), no one fucking cares.

It's a different story alltogether at Milan. And a whole different universe at clubs like Real or City. If the threat of getting benched is what makes him refuse a transfer, well... good luck with that mindset, mister Superstar...

Moreover, how many times did we talk here about the weak mentality of our supposed leaders like Theo or Rafa in big games? Well, Charles is not going to help out in that department either, that's for sure.

Charles long term false CF under a possession oriented coach could be a thing

I do not know about announcement but the decision if they will change him , as well also who the next is , should be taken already in order to prepare transfers and trainings during the summer time .

I wonder if a coach like Conte would finally kick some fight in him or if he would completely break him. If Charles was to return, of course, I'd root for him to pull an Adli and to make me eat a big fat L. I just don't see it though.
