BTW, loved that video from Diddi posted by @brk.

Diddi highlighted something interesting: when Fonseca first arrived at Milan, he had already analyzed Fonseca's work at Shakhtar and Lille. And yet, he rarely saw any of those principles applied to Milan. This raises an uncomfortable question: did Fonseca ever really have the freedom to shape the team his way, or was he boxed in by the management’s dictats? If the latter is true, the blame for this failure lands squarely on their shoulders.

In any case, Diddi was never convinced Fonseca was the right man for this team. Back in June, while talking about potential new coaches, he was already saying that Conceicao ticks every box for what this squad needs. Sarri, Amorim – even Fonseca – would have required a major overhaul of the squad. An overhaul that, let’s be honest, was never going to happen.
This reminds me so much of Giampaolo… coach had a clear vision on how to play, and then dropped it at the first hint of pushback.

That also ties in to my sense that both of them lacked the personality to coach a big club. Giampaolo was just a sad sack, and Fonesca a flailing doofus that his best players never seemed to respect.

Serg gives off strong “leader of men” vibes, who knows if that translates to results, but it’s a much better starting point imo

I have to check that one out...I like shows and novels about Rome. Years ago HBO had a series called Roma for two seasons in the times of Julius Caesar and it was awsome
Such a great show, it was originally planned to be 5 seasons, so sad they cancelled and condensed the planned seasons 2-4 into one season, it would have been great to have more of it

Furlani is perhaps the only one who deserves a chance to stay longer.
He was part of the Elliott team that brought us back to CL football.

The rest are just shit.
No.

Just realized I completed 25 years as a Milan fan. Feels like a long time and time is flying. I had no idea what to expect from 25 years in the future back then.

Thank you B&G and Sheva for making me a fan, and giving great memories while growing up :proud:
25 years hard Labor :o
i’m serving my 23 year sentence myself :)

I wonder if the ratings weren't what they had hoped for. I too was very disappointed that there wasn't a season 3.

The importance of the group for @CoachConceicao : despite not being able to take part in the scheduled matches because he is still struggling with the serious injury that struck him at the beginning of August, @Florenzi will join his teammates at #Ryad tomorrow at the request of the new AC Milan coach.

Spread his salary out like we did for Zambro and Oddo, keep as an assistant manager.

If you enjoy podcasts, you should try The History of Rome by Mike Duncan.

What's the last good player Napoli let go to a league rival?

Napoli is a well run club that cares very much about the books and accounting. Napoli fans hate De Laurentiis for the same reasons our fans hate Gerry, they think their presidents don't want to spend money. That's why Conte started complaining in August that Napoli didn't get the signings they needed and threatened to quit (like Maldini).

Napoli did not want to make those moves until they sold Osimhen first, because they desperately needed those funds to balance out the incoming transfers.

After Conte's fiasco, Napoli's management bent the knee to Conte and bought the players they needed in hope that Osimhen will eventually leave in the following weeks. No club was willing to pay the asking fee nor the wages Osimhen wanted, and hence both Napoli and Osimhen were in emergency crisis mode on 1st September because the transfer window shut and neither of them got their move. Osimhen was going to be permabenched and Napoli are heavily in the red (they still are, look at their financials). They managed to loan him to Galatasary as long as they paid his wages (10m) in full but the problem is going to return next year.

After what they went through, they will surely sell him to whoever as long as it benefits their balance sheet, and it will.

Besides, they sold Higuain to Juventus (but I think there was a clause) after he scored the most goals ever for a striker in Serie A under Sarri.

If Gerry wants to extend an olive branch, and show faith not only in Serg but the squad itself - open the wallet and bring in Nico Gonzalez. Would be a perfect partner for Fofana.
I don't think we're going to get an expensive CF. It seems like we're going to bet the house on Camarda.

One of the revelations this season is Nico Paz of Como, 20 year old Argentinian CAM product of Real Madrid that I hear some of the top clubs are after.

I haven't really watched him play but TransferMarket already values him at 20million which will surely go up as he gets more experience.

There are rumors of Real interest as well as Inter, Juventus, and Napoli, but nothing from Milan.
If we're going to spend big this is one profile that we should pursue, not players like Bondo that reminds me of Musah.
As always, there are players in the league that will develop and become top players who we overlook. We didn't take punts on guys like Kulu, Calafiori or Ederson..and will we overlook Ricci, Paz, Bonny, Dorgu...

Olmo will not come here coz we can't pay the wages + our SD is an idiot. But yes, that would do wonders for Milan!

Bondo? Looool another mediocre shit player to add to Musah. Cool.
And pretty much every EPL club can afford his wages.

We should be all over this. Get Morata on the line and bring him in. He would be a massive coup for this club. Obviously this is rosterbating to the max but I just envision an attacking midfield trio of Leao-Olmo-Pulisic and smile

I can see City being at the front of the line unless Real want to twist the knife.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Lateral.

One of those “a lot of potential” types
I would love it if we finally sign someone who already achieved his full potential and can slot right in.
