Ivan Gazidis spoke about Moncada and Maldini in the Xbdvl Podcast from Cannon Sports Media:

On Moncada

"One of the first decisions we made was to hire a top-quality, talented head scout like Moncada – someone skilled at discovering young talents to help rebuild Milan. To succeed, you need to be able to properly analyze players and their characteristics – not just technical ability – and that’s something we’ve done in every transfer window."

The importance of Paolo Maldini

"Then, of course, comes the management side – and that’s where Paolo Maldini’s figure truly stood out. What struck me most was the quality of Paolo’s personal relationships with the players. For that project, Paolo wasn’t just important – he was essential. He brought presence, charisma, and credibility. The bond he had with the players at Milanello was remarkable – a role model for everyone, not just the younger ones."

I guess Gazidis hasn't heared yet of the "nice" things Maldini had to say about him... :(

At Cannon Sports Media's Podcast Xbdvl, the former Milanese executive Ivan Gazidis spoke of Moncada as the top scout and the quality of Milan video analysis. An important, if not fundamental, parenthesis also that relating to the experience as manager of Paolo Maldini in Rossoneri. An excerpt of his words:

The importance of Paolo Maldini

"Then obviously the management side arrives, and there the figure of Paolo Maldini stands out. I was struck by the quality of Paolo's human relationship with the players. For that project, Paolo was important, indeed fundamental because he brought presence, charisma and credibility. The relationship he had with the players at Milanello was truly incredible, an example for everyone not only for young boys".

To be fair, he also spoke of the importance of Moncada.

Ivan Gazidis: On Moncada: "One of the first things we decided to do was to hire a high-quality, talented chief scout like Moncada, who is great at discovering young talents to help rebuild AC Milan. To do things well, you also need to be able to analyze players and their characteristics not just technical skills and that's exactly what we've done in every transfer window."

Well DM just means he plays in a defensive spot in midfield, meaning in front of the defense.
To me it looks like Ricci was too expensive for them so they are going for this bootleg version of him.
Jashari is a lot better from what I see and I'm often said to have a huge Italian bias.

Ruud was prolific!
I don’t put or I just can’t put Ruud in top 5 cause he couldn’t create chances for himself and he choked a fair bit in big games.
Only won ? One epl?

Gazidis is a professional. He doesn't wash dirty linen afterwards.

Probably the best CEO we've ever had n we've had a lot of grumbling about him n so on. I believe he’d still be here had it not been for his cancer. Under him, you‘d feel how the club was constantly developing at all levels.

For what he gave to Utd he deserved more than one league title. Always banged in around 30 goals per season.

If we can get rid of RLC and Musah - I'm fine with keeping Pobega as Fofana backup. He was always better than them both.

Adli, Jashari, Fofana, Modric, Pobega, ???

If we can't land Retegui or he's deemed too expensive. Why not give Pobega+Okafor/Alexis for Santiago Castro? 40 mil asking price for the 20 yo probably though.

Just for fun, I checked it, and CDK in his last 27 matches has 3 goals and 3 assists. 3 goals and 1 assist of that is coming from 20th place Monza, and 30th place Sturm Graz in UCL. 2 assists in the rest of the 25 matches.

Hard pass. A bullet dodged here.
Sounds a lot like our 50M€ signing, Rafael Leao..

Why 27 games? Is it such a fun number? Or was it maybe screw with the numbers in your favor?

CDK: 26 goal-contributions in 2998 minutes
Leao: 25 goal-contributions in 3499 minutes

I don't see anything special about this zeroli kid. He probably needs a loan where he will play regular, maybe a serie b team
He was sent to Monza in winter where he played 8 matches, started one, and missed 5 because injuries with 0 goals and 1 assist.
Will probably be loaned out again, maybe Serie B, so unless he's a late bloomer don't see him have a great career.

Unfortunately not much more than you guys. I'm not a regular watcher of the Swiss League because of the low level, so I missed his Lucerne days, and he just started to get minutes in the Swiss NT after the Europeans IIRC. Liked him, tho, and rumor has it he's a good talent, elected MVP of Belgian League this season, Transfermarkt has him at 32M and he's a Swiss Albanian. What's there not to like?

We can cry for losing Maldoban…. That duo made an impact. They knew what they wanted to get done and had a plan.

Oh bug off
He plays in Belgian league ffs
He's already almost 23 and only 2 apps with Switzerland too
And 35m to Brugge is insanity, they fleeced us first with CDK and now again

If Tare brings any of these Albanian fodders to Milan he needs to go immediately
Mr. ''I was a Milan Fan since the Hateley days'' and first thing he does is load the club with Albanian players nobody fucking wants
I hope these are just bullshit rumours and he proves me wrong big time by the end of August, but right now I want his head

Suggest affordable high quality leaders we should be pursuing instead.

Well achsually

They've been around for our past 2 CLs as they were founded as a CD/dvd rental place initially

I love this way of thinking - Anyone that isn't from a top European league cannot be looked at. Instead let a smaller team take these players and then they escape our budget.

You and someone else are shitting on CDK. He's gone on to prove he was worth what we paid. 24 and 25 goal contributions in his 2 seasons at Atalanta.

We are linked with a lot better players than we were the last 2 seasons. Emerson Royale, RLC, Musah, Chuk...Not only should we have avoided these players, we paid more than anyone else would've.

Contacted my former housemate who's from Valencia (but a Villarreal supporter), just to ask about Guerra and he actually gave a raving review saying that Guerra is one of the best young mids in the league not playing for Real or Barca. The other one he mentioned was Sancet. He also said that Guerra's play style is similar to Fabian Ruiz.
Between all the MF that linked to to us, Guerra's YT highlight is the most mediocre one

I think it was pretty openly said that he's taking some time off to recover and spend time with his family after battling cancer. Rightfully.
