What worries me is that Leverkusen, after selling Wirtz and Frimpong and loosing Alonso, they probably don't want to lose more central pieces of their roaster. And they don't need to sell eitherway with all that money they just got. Xhaka is not only a servicable soldier. Eventhough he's not flashy or made for youtube highlight reels, he's the glue that holds your midfield together with charisma, quality and experience. It's not that easy to find that elsewhere and Leverkusen will think twice about letting him go just like that.

At the same time I can't see Furlani agreeing to spend more than 15M for a soon to be 33 years old. Leverkusen might just say what we say these days: "That's the price, take it or leave it."

It’s all relative, it would be easy to look at Liverpool who gets crazy money for pretty unproven players from their bench. But they are in the prem and it’s hard to compare. I would say juventus and inter both do a better job at this than Milan though, they’re more efficient at flipping squad players into some kind of value. Our players end up loaned around forever.
