There is no way he is coming back. I know if i was Yoann Gourcuff I would not come back to Milan to play with a buch of old geezers.

Gourcuff has a great shot, he's good on the ball etc. But the guy is just not clever. He does not look up from the ball to see where his team-mates are. He's hardly shown any vision or ability to control the game.

If all we need is someone who can shoot well from the midfield when he has space, we might as well sign that dude Gibson from Man Utd. Would be far cheaper.

Have a feeling Ancelotti got this one right as well.

Really? His shooting is one of his weaker areas IMO. His vision and intelligence are much better than you're giving him credit for.

Oh, he shoots all the time and most of it turns out useless - that might be why you got that opinion. But compared to the guys we have at Milan, who are afraid to shoot from outside the box, Gourcuff seems far better in that aspect. His freekicks are pretty good as well.

About the vision, I just haven't seen anything special yet. Got to disagree with you there. Might be a function of the rest of his team-mates' crappy movement, but I doubt that..

I agree with some of the judgements..gourcuff is not that special of player and best quality was his striking of the football in dead ball situations.

Think some of the things said here are a bit harsh based on one game. Wasn't that the attitude that made us sell him? He was awefull in that game, but so was Ribery, Govou and especially Anelka. His Free Kicks are amazing though, one of the best FK takers around imo.

Personally, wasnt basing him on 1 game.. Have seen him play quite a few French games and Bordeaux games.

Poor guy. Horrible decision. If that was a red, all NZ strikers should have been sent off against Italy.

Georcuff was supposed to the breakout star of the tournament.

But now in every forum the general opinion about him is a player with no leadership skills and a mentally weak player who's damn talented but not good enough for big stage. Arsenal wanted him as Fab replacement if he left and apparently they r not impressed with Georcuff in big stage at all.

His 25 million value has taken a deep hit.

One of dull youngsters in WC 2010. Added he allegedly came to blows with Franck Ribery on a plane. Wonder how could this be true....

I actually like him, too bad he failed showing his talent footwork in South Africa.

Haven't read through the thread so I don't know if it's been mentioned, but apparently the trouble in the French camp was down to one of numerous conflicts between Ribery and Gourcuff. L'Equipe reported that Yoann was 'bullied' and how he usually played for himself in training, afraid of the verbal abuse he may receive from his teammates.

To quote the article: "Gourcuff comes from a privileged family. He is smart and he is respectful - but he is also still a shy little boy. In his spare time he listens to music, watches films and plays his video game systems. He is, in his own words, a little nerdy. In a French squad that places more value on how much money you have in your bank account, and what girl is on your arm, Gourcuff doesn't fit.

One incident occurred shortly before the World Cup. Franck Ribery and Sidney Govou had organised a night out at well known gentleman's club in Paris. Several players, including Gourcuff decided to stay home. When Ribery heard about this he immediately confronted Gourcuff and asked 'does your mother not allow you to go, you homosexual slur'. In the squad, Gourcuff can count on only 4 real allies. His best friend Hugo Lloris, his teammate Jeremy Toulalan, elder statesmen Thierry Henry and captain and the glue that holds the team very loosely together, Patrice Evra."

Ribery has proved million times what a huge prick he is. Anyway, if Gourcuff price has dropped , this is best time to get him honestly, Bordeaux went so downhill in the last season especially in the end of it and they went like 4-5 rankings down and now the French situation. At least in Milan he won't get bullied by some pricks. Remember with the Gourcuff deal we haven't lost much money and if we get him for cheap on the big picture we would have done a very good deal with him. He might not be our best pick, but it's jut a shame not to try to get such a talent when his price drops.

I heard from trusty people who are inside the French campaign (Pre & Post)with WC an were are close to the French team that the stories are totally especially between Gourcuff & Ribery and all the players; they are most about the racism + politics + and egos.

As I respecting for the forum rules; I can't post it here, but I can assure you what was written in some of the news papers are not true, they are twisted just for not open a huge fire and avoid the rancour.

If those stories r true that's more of a reason to NOT want gourcuff. Seems mentally weak

Bullied by ribery. Give me a fucking break, be a man. As for strip club thing, I side with ribery.... team bonding. Go! I've had to do shit for teams I didn't want. It happens on every team on every level. Btw going to strip club with your teammates is hardly a punishment lol.

Ribery may be a prick but so are 99% of footballers, you need that streak in ur personality to play at highest levels. And I don't doubt gourcuff could have an heir of spoilt brat in him that could set off guys like ribery who r self made men

edit: Ultimately though, as much as i wanna blame domenech. Blame has to fall soley on captain. You would never see this level of infighting under a STRONG captain. Could you imagine Ribery trying to bully someone under zidane?

There may be some truth to this. Almost two years ago, when Bordeaux played CFR Cluj, Gourcuff trained separately before the game. He had his own personal trainer + did completely different routines. He didn't train (or rather, warm up) with his teammates. That much I know is true because I saw it.

That said, I wouldn't mind him coming back. He's the type of player we need in midfield to replace Clarence who is still as crucial as ever.

Did that ever happen at Milan? Or only at teams with a weak ass captain and a coach with no discipline.

i really can't imagine maldini or ambrosini (or farther back to baresi) allowing squad to get out of control.

For me issues of team camaraderie and personal issues is captains job to dissolve.

on NT level, you don't see this with Italy or Brazil, which is why they have been consistently successful and always fight for each other. And if you wanna look at Spain, that team seems to have a real understanding bond together.

As stupid as it may seem, that stuff is huge. When you are willing to fight for each other, you'll always be better off. And on flipside, no matter what the talent level... when you don't look what happens (france). This explains what i felt like i saw between my own eyes. Ribery not willing to even pass to gourcuff
