Nocerino vs Marchisio is a close call, if both were to be in good shape and form, Prandelli should choose Marchisio imo, but it's a close call.

He's so likeable.

Not the most amazing midfielder ever, but he's a great utility player. Sometimes a player with this level of energy can be worth gold, cause he always gets himself into great positions.

I do give a lot of credit for Allegri.

I remember Nocerino in Palermo with the same grit and energy, but he was a Flamini-esque player... His game was about running everywhere - but it lacked direction and purpose.
Now he is a direct player, his off the ball movement is vertical, his timing is great(and it takes good reading of the game to do...).

Take a CM with less than 10 goals in his Serie A career and suddenly the guy becomes a goalscoring machine. Nocerino is much smarter player than he is given credit, and this improvement can only come with maturity... But clearly a lot of good work was made with him also.
To be noted, Allegri used to play this position as a footballer.

marchisio played good today besides missing 2 chances. plus italy up 2-0 y would nocerino go in? motta much better defensively, im sure if italy needed a goal nocerino would of been called up. other 2 subs went to balotelli and cassano to keep em fresh for the final.

Marchisio is really the weak link in Italy's midfield IMO
