stop saying his passing is good enough... it's NOT. Given time and space most professional players can make a pass like he did for that Boateng goal. The problem with Noce is how he passes when under pressure, or even worse, under pressure against good opposition.

Passing is all about being able to read certain aspects of the game. Noce has good instincts around the goal, that's a part of the game he can read well. But when it comes to being able be involved in the "passing flow" he's not good.

Let's take the extremes as an example. Pirlo and Xavi are not good passers only because of some mechanics in their legs that makes them pass like they do... it's because they're 3 steps ahead of everyone else on the pitch.

When Pirlo gathers the ball from the defenders, he already has 2-3 options in his head. If it's impossible to get the ball to the best player available, he quickly changes his direction to the second best option, and so on...

Noce lacks that in his game. Now i don't expect him to be anywhere close to pirlo or xavi level with his passing, he's not that type of player obviously, but he still needs to become a better passer. He needs to learn how to pick the best option to pass, and if that fails, pick the second best, faster than he does today.

If we gave him to Barca for free, and even offered to pay his wages, they would probably say thanks but no thanks. Because a player like Noce would destroy their game, being positioned where he is on the field, because of the lack of passing ability under pressure.

I'm definitely not a Noce "hater", or whatever you kids call it nowadays. I'm happy to have him here. And since we got him for free, he's a steal.

@your point- I see where you're going with it, but we don't play barcelona type of football. Nocerino is a limited passer, but he's not a bad one. He's useless in a posession-esque system (unless team just sits way back) and that was evident v. arsenal 2nd leg when they pressed our midfield to death.

However, when we can dictate our fast counter approach, he's useful. He takes the ball and immediately shoots forward with it. He's accurate.


Point being he's not one to make a pass for 2-3 moves ahead


Personally I don't like it either, i'd rather as bring in some playmakers but what can you do

my expectations aren't to high, like i said i don't expect him to be a pirlo or even a montolivo. but he needs to become a better passer. and he probably will in the future if his head is in the right place.

we definitely don't play barcelona type of football. and thank god for that.

and i never said that noce's useless, definitely not. there are certain aspects of his game that i appreciate. but imo he's definitely a poor passer, and that gets even more highlighted in a team with few good passers.

i mean, in a diamond midfield like we have, as many players as possible must be able to handle the ball very well. or else we become vulnerable. thankfully boa seems to become a better for every day that goes.
