Dud, not even the best striker in the world could do that when your midfield are kicking the ball away as soon as they get it and his parter in attack is MIA.

He needs to stop trying to take the ball into feet. You're right - the rest of the attack is failing miserably to work the ball forward. So they need to stop trying, and just start knocking it over the top for Pato to chase.

Pato is hungry but we have no midfield. We've known this for years, but we still end up with seedorf, ambro, and gatusso in the midfield (oh you know he would have start if he wasn't banned).

It's too slow, it gets outrun and out-hustled. We needed aquilani for boateng, not ambro. I haven't even seen ambro do anything positive yet, and Seedorf started to suck the big one when he got moved up. Damn this !@##

We had like 3 chances to put this game out of reach in the first 10 mins, then we let them settle in and we're just getting mopped at this point.

If you want Pirlo in a 3-man, that means you want him at anchor. Only rarely has he featured at LCM, and that was against weaker sides in Serie A. Barca would have tore us a new asshole from the right had Pirlo been our LCM today.

Match has given me confidence that we would have been in great shape for this match with Ibra and Robinho...

A Christmas tree with those two would have been great as Ibra can hold up play deep and distribute against this less than stellar Barcelona defense. Our biggest problems are composure on the ball and the fact that there are no outlet options on the rare occasion that we do have the ball.

Would have liked to see Aquilani instead of Ambro there, then we could have played more of a 4-5-1...

Boateng is not good enough to play this level of competition at the moment.

And people saying Pato isn't doing anything.. I understand, but you can see the difference with him and Cassano; Cassano gets the ball and pretty much messes up and loses it immediately, Pato atleast does something or tries...

Overall, Cassano is our weakest player. Pato's goal was not luck, we clearly go for the early goal when we need it and in high pressure - Inter and here - And it worked, clearly.

It dosn't look that bad. They completed 800 passes vs Arsenal away last year. They have posession players on the bench. We just need to counter 2DMs playing as CBs. It can happen. We just need to unbalance it a bit.

Actually, it is a combined effort of Abate-Zambrotta. If you see the replay Abate was near the ball and was trying to cover it only. Messi is certainly fast; however, Abate is fast too. Silly mistake but still in the match.

With players back ,after that first half, I really feel we can defeat them with clinical counters and moments of brilliance from ibra etc

I think that allegri just needs to settle everyone down, and tell them to wisely play through balls to pato, because at the minute its very rushed and not directed.

Think we defended very well in the first 30mins, Barcelona were only dangerous when we lost possession and were out of balance, and I felt we were always dangerous when we got the ball cause of Pato's pace, but after Barcelona switched to playing with 3 at the back we haven't been able to be dangerous. In the start of the matchbecame clear that Barcelona would have problems with him it seems like Macherano is basicly man marking him.

It's clear though that we lost concentration after around 30 mins as well, and Seedorf started looking tired. Before that we did very well to keep Messi of the ball, but we didn't keep it up unfortunately, and then stuff like that happens.

Milan are defending well, but they've been abysmal in possession. You can't give Barcelona the ball this easily.

Cassano needs to come off. There's always the chance that he'll do something special, but that's just not a gamble that's worth taking when he's being this much of a passenger. Emmanuelson on? 4-4-1-1 with him and Nocerino wide?

Seedorf has dropped out of it after starting strongly, but that's partly due to having nothing to hit in front of him.

Nocerino is invisible. He'll need to start getting ahead of the ball more now that Boateng's off.

Pato isn't doing enough. Milan really need him to start running in behind.

Whoever comes in for Cassano (or if he remains on the pitch) should alongside Pato start pressure from top, we're defending well behind but that's playing in a high risk game, as seen 1 mistake, 1 goal...would be nice to get Aquilani on to try to keep more possession.
