You can't say 'Rotundo' lovingly. That's equvilant to calling your friend or family member 'fatass'. What bugs me is the poor guy isn't even fat. Yeah he isn't in the best shape but that's not due to a weight problem. I'm not a groupie or trying to be one but you guys expect so much for the man then we he delivers you go and make up foolish names for him. There is nothing wrong with criticising him, by all means go right ahead, but don't be a little child about it.

I don't think it was the bench that hurt AC Milan yesterday at all. It was the goalkeeping. There is no way that Dida should have given that much of the near post to Rooney in extra time. If he has his angle correctly, that is an easy save for Dida. The first goal by Man U was a gift, Dida either had to commit fully to punch the ball out or stay on his line and hope for the best. He came out half way and stopped. He's too tentative. I am sure I need not remind everyone of the goals he let in against Bayern (he flinches and looks *away* from the ball for the first one and let's the second one beat him near post). Milan are playing with fire giving up goals like that to a quality team like Man U.

THEN, when the score is 2-2, Milan could not get out of their own half (it seemed) and the defense was under constant pressure. In a big game, you can't go into a defensive shell like that or you are bound to get burned. The easiest way to avoid being scored on is by playing in the other team's half as much as possible (IMHO).

I agree that the loss of Gattuso significantly affected AC Milan's ability to get the ball out of their own end, but a part of me wonders if AC Milan were sort of content with the 2-2 score (nota bad rsult for the away team). Nevertheless, the team now needs to step it up and win at the San Siro. AC Milan has done it before and hopefully they have two more in them.

Nice post, I agree with almost all the aspects of it starting from DIDA's specific failures for both the 1st and 3rd goals, GATUSSO's departure killing us in a way.

I only argue with the partial blaming for MILAN being too defensive in the second half. As you have mentioned that 2 - 2 is a great away result, so MILAN was sitting tight with that result, I think that was OK given the fact that we were playing without Paolo and Rino.

As it is all said and done, I strongly believe that we will overcome Man U. at San Siro and we are playing in the final.

Yes, but how many times have we seen an Italian team sit on a 1-0 or tie game only to lose it that result in the last moments? That is why I quibble with Milan being too defensive with the game tied. Of course, had Rooney not scored, I probably would be singing the praises of the Milan defense!! Yup, hypocritical, I know but I believe that is my prerogative as a fan!

With all that said. I think Milan has just as good a shot of advancing as they would have with a 2-2 result. Man U looks strong, but Milan has a knack of pulling these "must win" games out. Besides, I have a bet with a Man U and Celtic supporter on this and the Celtic CL games, so Milan can't let me down or I will have to wear (gasp) a Man U jersey!!

That is one of the most biased thing I've ever read, but still hilarious. Someone should have writen something like that for the second leg of Milan - ManU.

Stuff was thrown at him during the match? Jesus. Maybe the commentators were desperately trying to ignore the third incident of the ManU fans' jackass CL behavior. If I were in their shoes, I'd be embarrassed enough that I'd want to sweep it under the rug as well.

sad about wt happend 2 years back, everybody is + everybody who are against milan keep on mentioning it. but past is past
milan can do wt other teams cannot do (reaching the semi finals every year)

about the CL Milan-Man united at san siro .. our team should focus more, put lot of pressure on manchester, control the field from the center befor them reaching our side of the field by letting gattuso, pirlo and brocchi playing together.
our defence: should reallllly be aware of man utd counter strikes (thats wt manchester can depend on to win)
