The team were back training today at 15.00CET. The keepers (Nelson Dida, Zeljko Kalac, Marco Storari and Valerio Fiori) started working immediately on the central field, while the rest of the team started the session with warm-ups, strengthening exercises, stretching and a raised obstacle course.

There were sixteen players training, fifteen from the first squad plus Matteo Darmian from Milan’s Primavera youth side. Carlo Ancelotti started the players on a ball possession exercise, with eight-against-eight on the reduced pitch. The coach played for the first few minutes of the exercise and then was substituted by Clarence Seedorf. Serginho also participated in this exercise. After this the Rossoneri started on a second tactical exercise on the half pitch with only one goal.

An eight-against-eight training game on the half pitch with two goals ended the session. Dida and Kalac were guarding the goals, while Storari and Fiori worked apart. The following players worked in the gym during today’s session: Paolo Maldini, Kakha Kaladze, Giuseppe Favalli, Alberto Gilardino, Massimo Ambrosini, Andrea Pirlo and Yoann Gourcuff.

Rino Gattuso and Serginho concluded the session in the gym, while Gastone Bottini joined the rest of the group in the training game. Of special note are Pippo Inzaghi’s and Ronaldo’s goals. The Brazilian sank a brilliant left footed shot. The team will meet tomorrow at Milanello at 14.30CET and training will start at 15.00CET.

I wouldn't bet the horses on it. They may save him for the Celtic rematch.

How can I get the word out to him that I give killer shoulder massages? :D

Dida agrees Barca deal? Saturday 24 February, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper after it was reported Nelson Dida agreed a free transfer to Barcelona.

The Brazilian’s contract expires on June 30 and talks to renew have been unsuccessful, so today the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ claims the reason behind his reticence is a deal to switch over to the Nou Camp.

The Blaugrana have long been interested in the shot-stopper and the Spanish Press insists there is a verbal agreement in place.

Considering Dida’s many injury problems this season, it’s now likely Milan will look elsewhere rather than enter a bidding war with Barca.

Juventus man Gianluigi Buffon is a known target, although Inter are also interested and it’s by no means certain he will leave Juventus at the end of the season.

Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc impressed during the midweek Champions League clash in Scotland and has joined the list of potential alternatives, although he doesn’t have the Serie A pedigree needed to be the top choice.

Milan are also involved in more rumours of a swap deal, this time with Roma. Filippo Inzaghi’s unhappiness at the arrival of Ronaldo is no secret and he has confirmed he’s seriously considering moving on this summer.

With Vincenzo Montella returning from his loan spell at Fulham but still not finding space at the Olimpico, there could be an exchange.

The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ newspaper suggests that Inzaghi would go to Roma on loan in exchange for Montella to Milan – a move that had already been rumoured in January.

Kalac has a scary facial profile, I'd rather use him rather than Storari with short hair.

I think he would not choose to go there for anything!

Buffon: Juventus fans don't want to see me with Inter Milan
tribalfooball.com - February 23, 2007

Gigi Buffon admits he knows Juventus fans are desperate for him not to join Inter Milan at the end of this season.

Italy's No1 is still to decide if he will stick or twist in the summer and says: "Next season still does not exist for me as there is no certainty over where I will be playing. I am looking to the club and discussing things, but still no decision has been made.

"For now, the most important thing is to think about the present and to return as soon as we can to Serie A."

Buffon added: "I know how the tifosi would take a decision from me to join the Nerazzurro: for sure it would be big disappointment for them. They stop me on the street and say 'Go where you want to, but not to Inter!'"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think he won't join inter for 100%! There will be offers also from big clubs,
and if he doesn't want milan i think he would like a new chalenge in his great carrier like spain or english league.

I'm glad he's leaving, provided we do get a decent keeper to replace him, which may prove difficult.

He isn't going to be #1 at Barca btw, he is at best "competition" for Valdes to raise his game.

Yup, and I don't think that Barca will sacrifice Valdes for Dida.

Dida isn't better than Valdes, but even if he was he would still need to be a lot better than him for Barca to drop a younger, Catalonian keeper.

Good that Dida is back from injury. Made another great game against Sampdoria.
It was almost a repeat of the Lazio match; he returns from injury, makes some great saves, but match ends 0-0. Up until Ambro broke that snide yesterday, as we all know. :)

Dida's far better than Valdes, Valdes is more prone to mistakes even than Dida. It's not coincidence he wasn't picked for the WC even with Barca winning the CL and La liga.

Buffon or Dida?

I think the delay in giving Dida the money he wants is: Baldy is working on bringing in Gigi.
If we can't get Buffon, than Dida is our best option.
There are not that many great keepers that are available out there.
Lehmann is available at the end of the season, which is a good option but a short term one with his age, Hildebrand from stuttgart is our best long term option, and he is dying for a long term contract to a BIG club.
He will be Germany's #1 at WC 2010, and wants to prove himself at the highest level (Champions League). He knows Stuttgart will qualify this season, but aren't a real threat to make it very far.
So Buffon first, if not Buffon keep dida.
But get Hildebrand no matter what he is brilliant! ;)

I'd take Dida over CrazyJens anyday :) Timo is a good keeper, that's why he wouldn't come here to be a back up keeper. ;)

I agree though, if we can get Buffon then fine, 100% in. If not, just keep Dida.

The Brazilian press were also saying that Dida had signed a four-year extension with the Rossoneri. And that was well over a year ago.
