I don't give a toss about zoomer stats like that
Only stat I remotely care about is goals, and that's for attackers only
What matters to me is overall performance
Leao is mediocre most matches
"Critical Goals" = "Zoomer Stats"

Yes but still annoying to see SUCH a drop in level. When was the last time we had a good CB? Honestly, I can't remember.
Last WC one was clearly Silva

When Kjaer came I’d argue his level was still quite good, and he played like a true leader than made everyone else better… never was an elite player, but he was solid as they come.

I am not even mad at Tomori, he didn't deserve the red, it was a good defending from our backline, as Colombo was offside. The Tammy challenge was a clear penalty, the Empoli defender kicked him from the back, not even touching the ball, clear as day. That tackle against Walker is a straight red.

We played terribly in the first half, make no mistake about it. And I don't like to complain about refs, but today it was a disgrace. Every 50-50 was against us. Empoli played an ugly, disgusting game, constantly kicking and fouling our players, and the ref just let them get away with it. It is absolutely pathetic that Joao Felix got a yellow card for acting, but the Empoli players got away with ruthless tackle after ruthless tackle.

It was a really frustrating game, a hard-fought, but well deserved victory. Now I am rooting for an Empoli relegation, they can try this butcher style in Serie B.

For the first half, I blame Conceicao. We started with a way too defensive setup, gave too much respect for fucking Empoli. 2nd half the performance was better, this Leao-Felix-Gimenez-Pulisic quartet is absolutely a joy to watch. Theo once again had a great game, hopefully he can keep up his form, he is playing like his old self for the last couple of matches. Pavlovic had some technical errors, but was massive at the back. Walker was rock-solid, he is versatile, and a great defender. Outside of his red, Tomori had a great game, and that red was simply unjustice from the ref. Fofana, Jimenez, Reijnders were poor today. Musah played significantly better in the second half, I liked what I saw from him.
Yup
A lot of ppl are shitting on Tomori either because it fits their narrative or because his tackle was stupid in that situation regardless.

But I fucking love the guy.
He's an aggressive cunt....but he's OUR aggressive cunt :o

I liked the game. I thought we made a mature game, waited patiently and collected the 3 points. Every game with small clubs will have certain difficulty in it, especialy away.

Overall we fight, we tried, we preserved some players and give playing time to others, in the end the job was done. The game was in our hand 100% of the time.

Well done.

Shame that our defense is made up of Tomoris :o

Agreed though, Rafa looks happy about the added quality. I just hope Felix doesn't turn out to be a lazy twat who's also injured most of the time. I don't trust him one bit - he's 25 and his career is still hopes and promises.
Are you happy with the team?

Doesn't that describe Pulisic when we signed him, too?

That cant create a single chance vs empoli when missing 1-2 players
So, squad construction and midfield depth... Wanna talk?

Yeah, the enthusiasm is great. If that was Juve or I terrible we'd be moaning but appreciating that they "win ugly".

We won, that the most important thing... But the Felix love, I get it, but when he's out,do we then drop a few levels quality wise?

Similarly with Santi, and definitely Pulisic and Leao.

We're still still lacking a proper option from the bench for both wings. Id argue Tammy is 3rd choice. We need an alternative to Deers otherwise we're going to see issues in the middle.

God forbid Deers and Felix are out, that's absolutely no creativity in the middle of the park.

Then there's a Theo back up... Is Jiminez that guy? Is he the new Salad? If so do we want to pin back up LB on him when he might be needed to cover LW, RW, RM, RB and waterboy... It looks?

We still have a LOT of holes guys, but we plugged several for sure!!!

Only saw the extended highlights, but from what I saw this could have easily gone either way.

If Empoli had scored from that chance of Colombo when it hit the post, I doubt we could have turned it around given the chances we barely created, most likely a draw.

Still, there's a lot of baby steps taken in a positive direction, and you do need a bit of grinta/luck when building a proper team.

This will add to the already rising team morale, and that's now more important than playing pretty/perfectly. ( see Forrest in the EPL for the perfect example of this )

Watched back the full match. A bit of a spectale all around.

Referee clearly lost his mind. We should've had at least one penalty, first few minutes and then potentially into start of second half. There was also a blatant studs stamp early in the first half too that should've been a red for Empoli. Tomori second yellow was a weird one to me. Dumb challenge, so clearly a yellow - however, the offside flag was already raised before the ref drew the card so at that point he should never have given the card. He made up for it on the Empoli red, and Gimenez was lucky to only get a yellow, as I'm pretty sure he had his hand around the guy's throat.

In terms of how we played, 442 is good if you don't have both Musah and Jimenez. We need balance but that means one or the other, with Leao or Pulisic as an offensive outlet. Second half you could see we played better with actual attacking players and no Tammy having a useless game. Gimenez has real quality, Pulisic we know and got two assists from great vision. Leao scoring a header is good to see. My big question mark is still the midfield, Fofana and Tijji both getting rest but we can't rely on any of the others, and have to hope Bondo comes good quick. Good subs at HT so Conceicao isn't afraid to admit his mistakes and change things up, but he can't risk it from the start. Felix is real quality except inheriting Morataeque diving skills. A lot of class if the kid can keep himself grounded.

Lastly, it's good to see we kept fighting, even after being 1-0 and 2-0 up. At no point even under pressure did we just sink like under Fonseca.

That was not a football game! That was something like a rugby game!
Empoli have played a really rude and with no fairplay! The pitch was very bad....
The referee should have not given a red card for Tomori, because it have been
an offside! At all, the referee have controlled the game very badly! It was one very
unlovely game! It is not a good picture by our favourite AC MILAN! Rafa Leao
was so unserious when came into the game and beside the goal, he showed bad
attitude! I am not proud of this victory!

If you want fair play and professional caliber, then it’s better to go to goranked.gg - there you will definitely find worthy opponents

I was disappointed with the quality of play too, but let's support the team, they can get back to their level in the next matches.
