What are your favourite football magazines and what do you think about 'Calcio Italia' magazine?

I don't really read football mags. The German ones kinda suck + are way too focused on Bundesliga. I bought a 442 recently as it had an article on DD ;) but it's quite a rag, too, in terms of quality. Very superficial. And I hate to spend money on glossy ads :o

For me it's got to be 442. They're not only focusing on current issues or hot players but there are a lot of articles about past events. My favorite is 'More than Just a Game' articles about rivalries between clubs. Pretty expensive in Indonesia, though, around USD 15.

The second best thing would be World Soccer.

Really ? The issue I got also features the Fallover Punk, rather excessively (cover + a couple pages) + it reads like a teenage magazine :D

I do buy CalcioItalia as its the only English language magazine on Italian football.Having said that I tend to think its not that well written. Its a bit like the Sun of football.I do like World Soccer although it does tend to be out of date by the time it appears on the newstands!442 is ok and the Chempions league magazine is also good. But for me the best is When Saturday Comes. Its well written, humorous and can also make decent comment on current situations.A fine article on the state of Italian game appeared in the last issue.

El Grafico, and Don Balon, but I don't buy them...unless it brings something I'm interested in.
I've seen some from Italy, but the issues come like 2 months after. Not worth it...unless it brings something I'm interested in.

Don Balon
and there it is...

Excellent publication and my personal favorite. Since I could read I have had my weekly copy. I truly wish the Don Balón writers covered Serie A. Their European coverage is brilliant though. :)

Sweet. Thanks for the feedback fellas.

What about any magazines that cover Italian Serie A which are a good read?

Magazines that cover Serie A are few and far in between, unless you live in The Boot. There's a newsstand I visit often that carries the official Milan mag, and more bookstores are carrying Calcio Italia. It's in the neighborhood of $10 US though, since it's imported from England.

I'm not a big fan, though (it's been over a year since I last bought an issue), because as someone mentioned, the writing is pretty banal and it's a lot of the same old stuff every issue. Plus, they make it a habit to mention players' girlfriends as an excuse to put a sexy picture in the gossip section.
