Mangia makes more sense than Pippo because he knows this new young generation of Italian players (#92, #2, #8)

So, let me get this straight, you would prefer Mangia because he got into contact with 3 of our players on like, 6 occasions a year or so? And you would prefer that to Pipo, who is at the club probably almost every day? I'm not passing any judgement on which one of Pipo and Mangia would be the better choice, just saying that your argument of knowing that new young generation of Italian players is rubbish.
Even if you meant we would have a higher chance of attracting other talented players of that generation, it still remains highly doubtful they would let their careers be so majorly influenced by the mere presence of a coach they may or may not have been on good terms with on essentially only a handful occasions a year.

Rubbish?
Mangia has coached in serie A; Pippo has not. I think Mangia could be a great coach for us; however, I do not think he will accept a 6-month job; nor I think Pippo will accept that too. It is clear that prandelli will arrive after the wc; so, I found it pretty hard that somebody will come for the coaching job.

Is this your general analysis/opinion, or is this directed to me?

If it's you're own opinion fine, if not, where did I EVER say Inzaghi should coach the Senior side?I don't think he should coach until 2016 at earliest and that in itself wouldn't necessarily even mean Milan seniors. He could end up from Parma to Norwich City to Kaiserslautern for all we know.

nope, not to u brother

Everyone wants him to be the coach already, its too early for him...thats all what I'm trying to say

Monday October 14 2013 Inzaghi: Milan comeback difficult

Filippo Inzaghi says that Milan’s poor start to the season is down to injuries and presents a difficult position from which to recover.

The Rossoneri come out of October’s international break 12th in Serie A and already 13 points off the pace.

Milan are paying for a number of injuries, but they are recovering many of the players now,” mused Inzaghi to Milan Channel today.

It will be hard to make up the points gap with the other direct competitors, but I think that with a full team we can do it.

The Rossoneri will not play their next match behind closed doors, after the initial one-match stadium ban for supporters was suspended.

There cannot be a match without supporters, it was right to reopen the stadium to the fans.

Since Maldini wont coach Milan anytime soon, i hope his going to be a great coach for us in the near future. It would be awesome to have a legend like him be successful at the helm of the club.

I believe I already said this.

Pippo is doing good now. He's giving our young player motivations from his charisma (history) and determination. I don't think it is a good idea to promote him as our coach yet. He doesn't have much experience, and so the chance for him to help us this season is very very low.

I don't want what happened to Leo happens again. Leo was our good PR and scout, Leo helped us to sign good Brazilian players. Because Leo had bad experience with Berlu, now he doesn't want to have anything to do with us.

Again, I just don't want us to lose staffs that can give us greater benefit in the long term (many seasons), just to help us in this season. Pippo can help our primavera or young players to develop better...better personalities, behaviors, and skills because of his characteristics.

We are all 80% sure that Berlu will appoint new coach sooner or later (last time Berlu was convinced by Galliani to keep Allegri for this season). Why do we want to take a very very high risk losing someone that can be very valuable for us for many years to come only for one season? I don't think it's a wise move.

And I read some people believe that we are going to sign young and very promising players. I don't think that's true...at least, nowadays, most of the time we were trying to sign cheap (bad, inconsistent or maybe good but troubled), out-of-contract (difficult or attracted by Milan's good name), or loaned (rejects or not very good) players. Other teams that want to keep wining in the future spend about 10-20M for a young and very promising player.

We need to realize that we are not a team filled with champions anymore. Our policies are like mid-level teams...the difference is that we still have our good name as Milan...a good name that soon will be gone if we don't change our policies soon.

I am so sick of people repeatedly banging the experience drum. Talent is talent and capacity is capacity. The myopia of some people to me is truly mind boggling.

The management team in Barcelona identified Guardiola as a special talent and as such appointed him as manager after one year with Barcelona B. If Milan are satisfied with Inzaghi's approach and potential he should be appointed on a full time basis. It's not that difficult to get an experienced staff around him to help the transition.

Well constructed squad and a good amount of luck is needed for any coach to win esp the new ones coming out of playing career. I think experience matter a lot if you are looking for short term success.

or a cutting edge dynamic mofo of a GM, Galliani is good but he just leaves the job haldf done maybe because of the money

Montella seems ripe for the picking :D if berlu doesnt extend allegri contract

I don't think Guardiola can be used for comparison with Pippo. Barcelona was not in problem like us now, they had very good squad at that time too.

It needs at least some experiences to turn us around, especially with these injuries...Pippo even identifies that the injuries is our problem. Even if Pippo have great talent and creativity, it will not grow as long as Berlu keeps try to control the coach with his requests.

If I'm not mistaken, before Pippo we didn't get much achievements from our youngsters. I would prefer for Pippo to keep winning with our youngsters to motivate them and help to shape their determination or personality. Maybe in 3-4 years, one of those youngsters will be a star. I would prefer to have determined players, rather than talented players that are lazy and don't want to train.

It doesn't mean that we will definitely get a star from our current youngsters soon, but it can increase the chance. Inzaghi's name and winnings can increase the chance of talented youngsters to sign for Milan Primavera.

So, I believe, Pippo will benefit Milan hugely in the long run as a Primavera coach. And just like I said, it was our lost that we appointed Leo as a coach. Leo was actually more useful for us as PR and scout than a coach which only lasted for 1 year. And I don't want that same thing to happen again.

I don't know, it's just that the idea -of a coach (that had only been coaching kids) can help Milan in injuries crisis (plus, Berlu's requests) to get 3rd or 4th place from 12th- is little bit difficult to accept...and considering Inzaghi future benefits, I don't think it's worth it.

i agree in general with that but if he fails not due to lack of talent or experience but due to lack ot talent present in team is like putting his carrer as a coach in danger.look at the case of luis enrique.its very similar to pep and pipo.pep had an extremely talented squad and became the best debut manager of all time (i think i havent researced over that) with 14 trophies in 4 years and the other found his carrer in tatters after roma job.before their first team experience the had excactly the same job and back then barca didn want to release luis because he sough in him the heir to pep...

imo with current squad it will be a great risk.if we had a 2005 squad then it is a completely different case.so he better have to try and follow an antonio conte path.

The thing with Guardiola is that Barcelona have a 'Barca way' of doing things and he grew up playing it. As such he is well-versed in it. But we don't have a 'Milan way' of playing, no central philosophy. There are some vague requirements, like Milan should always play attractive, attacking football and always have two strikers on the team-sheet, but beyond that we don't have anything concrete. Inzaghi may well be a success if given a chance, but I fear he might end up like Stramaccioni. The season under him will be one of transition, and if he is replaced after one season, which I fear might happen, you'll have a more experienced coach in charge and another season in transition in the offing. It will only give the management one more reason to peddle their bullshit. I am just sick of Milan being in perennial transition.

But I have to say that I won't be as concerned if they replace Allegri with Seedorf. Maybe it's the Dutch connection that makes me say that, but the fact that he's a midfielder also counts. I think midfielders, in general, have a better understanding of the game than strikers.

Ian, your post is pretty revisionist. Look at Barcelona before Guardiola and the problems the club faced with Frankie boy and the club's massive penchant to underachieve.

Italian Csar, Pep put his own stamp on the club. He changed training, changed the culture, and implemented his own tactics. If the club appoints Inzaghi, there's no way that the club won't give him a chance and reinforce him.

As for Seedorf, he is still an active player. Inzaghi is an active coach and is one who is gaining significant results.

Coach is just a part :fp:

You need management, which know, what they do and off course, most important WC players.

Milan lack good management, good coach and WC players...yeah we are below average

What Pep did was take what he learnt from Cruyff -- in the main -- and refine it to the point of perfection. So I wouldn't say he changed anything, he refined them.

As for expecting reason from the Milan management when dealing with coaches, I simply don't trust them. I've seen too many empty promises over the years to indulge in that.

As I said, Inzaghi may well be a success as a coach. But to give him charge of the first team on the basis of his record as youth team coach is too risky IMO.
