How can it be 85% the forwards fault if he can't even bypass the first man most of the time.

@Senatore It cant be 85% the forwards fault if 95%+ you hit the first defender.

How can it be 85% the forwards fault if he can't even bypass the first man most of the time.

Let me put it this way.

Could he be a better crosser? Yes

but will it matter much with our forward line if we added alves or maicon? Not AS much as people think, imo.

Maicon and Dani Alves both had higher assist totals the years AFTER Zlatan left than before, which is kind points to the fact, we don't really have a team to thrive on wide service from FBs the way we did w/ sheva.

Maybe he's trying to get a corner?

our corners were attacking opportunities for opposition

they were hideous and short, they'd never reach the players

but whenever we sent it, we had nesta (roma), silva (barca) and cassano (lazio) to get them

too bad their the only times i can recall

I agree about Ibra but if the ball gets through he may get a knockdown or be able to setup someone else. We should also have (Pato, Prince) knock on wood and Nocerino to hopefully be in the box. Lets get the ball into the box consistently and then when nobody can claim it then lets blame them.

The bad part about him playing for NT is this is something he probably wont work on this offseason but he needs to be a better crosser because he cant beat his man and he cant shoot.

I also have to say one thing about Barca - I am convice that many of their players arent that great at passing (longer distances) but they practice delivering balls to certain parts of the pitch. I have watched them and it is obvious it is part of their plan.

I only say that to say Abate (and Milan coaching staff) needs to understand that if he can deliver a deep cross it will be easier for him to fake that and skip by his guy to get into better situations. He needs to practice delivering balls earlier and obviously our forwards need to be able to get into the box as well.

Ibra against the world is only good for the cultist and against week opposition.

why you no cross like that in Milan?

they looked destined to get to someone and against teams not booking a permanent stay in the penalty box, would of led to goals

Abate showing his best traits. Again I reiterate, if Abate is the only one crossing like how it is in Milan, its easy for opposition to stop. If there's many creative players like there is on the National Team, Abate's crosses can actually get through since its less expected.

I got worried when Maggio came on cause he's shit at attack and defense, luckily England just parked the bus.

EDIT: Also that Rooney tackle in the box, beautiful stuff, just like he marked out Ronaldo before, too bad because he made two mistakes vs Milito half this forum will still hate him.

A team built on the midfield and not on the attack, with attackers that may like to head the ball...yeah that can help a fullback when he crosses.

Fucking Milan, get back to developing the game on the midfield, it's a winning strategy for everyone.

Irrelevant. Abate's crossing is poor with Milan because he can't hit the target. He couldn't make the ball swerve well.

IIRC at least one of his two crosses missed the target today but they were praised because he finally properly swerved it. With Milan very often it just gets blocked or goes out of the line or safely into the GK's hands like it's a training session.

The fact that he's getting praised for making two successful crosses into the box shows how terrible his crossing is.

abate at Milan can't make the ball pass the defender, yet it's the strikers fault

he had a good game tonight, better than any game for Milan this season, get over it.

Great game, defensively awesome, did not let even one ball to go past him, and good on the attack too.

Now I'm more hopeful.

exactly.

the amount of times he hit the opposing full-backs legs when trying to cross... at first i thought it was sheer bad luck but then it just got ridiculous to the point you expect him to do exactly that. :fp:

1 good cross is a MOTM performance.
1 assist means he is better than Cafu.
Shutting down C. Ronaldo and Eto'o with Gattuso help means he is an elite defender.
Nesta shut down Messi means Abate did it.
Abate cross can't bypass the first man or ends up in row Z means Ibra and Pato movement was poor.

He had 2 today so based on what I see in this thread. 2 crosses mean

Top 10 RB in the world.
World class performance.
Excellent game.
Superior to Maggio.

Abate did well but Prandelli was smart to sub him for Maggio at 90 mins. England put on Walcott to peg back Balzaretti, so Italy needed consistent energy down the wing and Maggio offers that and has more experience than Abate who can be prone to a mistake when tired.

I am so proud of him specially considering that everyone on this forum hated him 2 yrs back lol. Abate has bronze already!!!!(there never was 3rd place game for semis loser at Euro and both teams shared 3rd. That didn'd change, did it?) Not bad for a guy everyone called a serie C level lol Go back to the begining of this thread to see what I posted when he came back to us.
