They run sure, but they don't have the stamina to do it through a whole match, every match.

Maybe they do. They don't play in Europe, gives then an edge in SA.

They press farther up the pitch and all match unlike ouur tactics where allegri will conserve for stretches. This benefits nocerino

Conte's clear on having them go 200% and he'll sub them. Rather a player give his all for 60 and sub than think all match

Vidal and Pepe were completely drained and were substituted off.

Second half were they were pressing way less, most likely due to fatigue.

If Juventus get too tired, they're screwed.
...

If only we had distance covered this season and minutes played statistics.

But since I don't have that, I can't continue..

Good, long read, Corzioli. As a matter of interest, all 3 Bronte sisters had died of 'wasting sicknesses', presumed to be variants of TB. Apparently, their living conditions were quite bad in terms of sanitation.

Thanks a bil :star:necro:star:..coming from a fellow writer this means a lot, really.

I knew about the Bronte siblings, gifted as they were, from a little red book I had then when I was still actively writing poetry and some prose..was about so many of the classical writers, from Daniel Defoe to Alexander Pope to Goeffrey Chaucer to Mary Shelley to Rudyard Kipling to Ernest Hemmingway to Keats to Yeats to Virginia Woolf...book was a favourite. Three-and-a-half years and a bad case of writer's block later and I don't really know where that 'little' book is :(..was so good my ex got a copy, and another writer friend. It's a bit of a rare commodity, so I'm hurt...remembered it while doing those posts yesternight, hence the Emile tribute.

Gotta go back all the way to Port Harcourt to check up for that bookshop..hopefully somehow they'll recall they ever stocked 'Who Wrote That'. Hopefully. Or wait...I'll just hope it's not obsolete online. :/

There's only so much the Interwebs can do for an autodidactic aficionado of English Literature. :D

And yeah, thanks a lot am4e :proud:, Dominate and sushanmilano..I'm a toddler over here now and proud of it, just earned my chevrons. :) Now please stop pushing me around in the pram!! :D

...

That's true. They make up for lack of quality with work rate and pressing.

Honestly, they just need to add more quality if they wanna move higher up

Udinese have conceded ONE goal all season. Wow.

Considering they lost Inler and Zapata...

Masster was right.

What's funny is they are just another example a long with Bayern Munich, Barca and others.... a good defensive team starts with pressure upfront.

The way they defend as a unit is impressive. If I could I'd love to have.. Benatia, Asamoah, Isla, Armero, Handanovic here. They legitimately would all walk into our first 11...

Cassano--Ibra
Armero--Asamaoah--Aquilani--Isla
Thiago
Nesta--Benatia
Handanovic

That's probably the best 11 players between both teams. And really... di natale could have his say too..

If you wanna know why Madrid cannot better Barca it's this. They aren't getting the defensive work rate from Ronaldo or Ozil or Benzema. They basically need rest of team to be superhuman defensively. In Ronaldo's case, at man utd... they had rooney and tevez working twice as hard to compensate.

if you want overall team defense, why isnt Robinho starting? he offers way more backtracking than Cassano

Currently Mexes gets schooled by primavera players. Lets wait for him to find his knee again before we anoint him.

But really.... Benatia has been very good for 6-8 months now, and honestly, at 23... establishing himself as a top serie A CB who can only improve.

He started a primavera game and Milan lost 3-1.

Point is, Mexes is awesome, but my honest opinion is, I don't think we'll see top class consistent Mexes till next season. He could put in some good performances this year for sure, but I think it'll take him another 6 months.

Kind of like Gattuso...

Fuck even Ganso has been generally awful, since he came back from his knee injury in spring bar a few good performances here and there.

----
Anyway, I'm really liking what I'm seeing out of out of Benatia, and I hope we do actually get him.

He gave away a penalty in that match as well...

I'm just gonna wait and see how he fits in our glorious team.

didn't he also play another game against the primavera which Milan won 6-0? those games mean nothing, he can give 10 penalties, all what matters was the work out and to confirm that his knee is fine.

I know Mexes will take time to get back to his top form, but we'll need to see his current level to judge, I hope he starts tonight.

It was his first competitive game in over 6 months, I don't think many people care how he performed that game. Anyway, he played only 45 minutes...

Gazzetta dello Sport

Juve heart
Conte returns to the top alone. Fiorentina in crisis.
A great first half from the bianconeri who missed several chances in the first half. In the second half a response from the viola, but from a Pepe assist comes the winning goal.

Milan-Ibra, Cassano and the super Boa. Parma: Crespo
Galliani gives Allegri a $500,000 euro raise but postpones the contract extension until June. Van Bommel to start from the bench.

Inter look to Milito again
And Julio Cesar looks to the third straight game without allowing a goal.

Udinese-Di Natale dribbles past Napoli again. Mazzarri with the trident

Percassi: “New stadium and Atalanta in Europe”
“Colantuono is our man for the future. And tonight a draw is enough for us”.

FIFA: No Ipad on the bench, and instant replay

T*ttosport

Here is the real Juve
A response against Fiorentina: 2-1, goals from Bonucci and Matri. The bianconeri dominate for 80 minutes and retake the first spot.
A perfect first half, in the second half the great strike from Jovetic and the immediate winning response from Conte’s team.

Ranieri: “Inter are playing for everything”
The coach advises: “Against Atalanta, Juventus and Genoa there can be no mistakes”.

Allegri: watch out for Giovinco
The coach of the rossoneri fears the Parma talent: “He does everything now”.

Di Natale, no Napoli
Udinese at the San Paolo without Toto, the only Italian candidate for the Ballon d’Or.

“Toro, get back up and celebrate”
Bianchi is sure: “The lose at Gubbio will be a good lesson. In May we will celebrate”. And Simoni “gives plaudits” to the granata: “They are Serie A worthy”.

Corriere dello Sport

Juve take the lead!
Matri with the strike, 2-1 against Fiorentina: Conte returns to the summit.
The bianconeri were bossing the first half: goal from Bonucci. In the second half Jovetic drew level. The striker decides it.
The coach looks to Inter and Matri gets excited: “With this intensity we are unbeatable”. Mihajlovic: “We gifted them 45 minutes”.

Napoli on the attack, chance for Milan
The azzurri take on Udinese without Di Natale. Mazzarri: “You must have faith in us”.
The rossoneri take on Parma to get them closer to the top. And Allegri gives Cassano the plaudits.

Inter at Bergamo with Milito. Lazio dream of first place. Roma at Genova: there is Borini.

Zola says all: “Napoli and Milan will be the scudetto battle”

OptaPaolo:

2005/06 - last time Juventus were unbeaten after eight games was in 2005/06 but in that case after eight wins. Improvement.
