the roma win pissed me off more than the juve one, roma are our direct competitors for a CL spot

edf is a grinding bitch

I agree, but they're bound to drop points. very sloppy at the back

Roma, Inter, Milan, Lazio and any overachiever might be in the mix. Any can finish outside top 4. I'm not sure Napoli have taken a 29 point step back for us to over take them. Even if they get 12 less points and we got 15 points more than last season they would still finish above us

Higuain and Samu on song and we should be able to fight for top 4

Milan: young portuguese tap in merchant: 3 goals in debut
Juve: old portuguese tap in merchant: 0 goals in debut

young > old (1)
--- 3 --> 0 - (2)

(1)(2) => Silva > Ronaldo (3)

Milan can afford loaning out Silva because he's their 3rd best striker, while Juve pays their tap in merchant 20m/yr, so using relation (3) => Milan > Juve

After watching the top teams play, none have hit the ground running. which is good.

the way Gattuso has made this team run in pre-season, i hope we'll be the first team to make a statement by annihilating Napoli.

despite losing most of these pre-season games i'm more confident of a good start of the season.

Crap start to the season for Inter, we did our usual thing at Sassuolo. That said, it will take time to integrate all the new players, and a lot of the starters weren't fit to start this game like Nainggolan, Perisic, Versaljko, Keita & Skriniar.

As for "title contenders", its only the media who are talking shit as usual. I don't know any Inter fan who thinks the club will challenge for the Scudetto this season. The gap with Juve may have been reduced, but too big a gap still exists. I will be happy with another Top 4 finish, this season will be challenging and that is not a guarantee even after a decent mercato.

Boateng subjected the Inter squad to his God awful rap song before the match.
Nice tactic.

He doesn't relegate, but he certainly struggled domestically. He never did as well domestically as he should have, and Napoli lost their dynamo in Jorginho.

really ?

Why do you think it’s ok to pal around here?

I mean... I guess some people will allow it...

But there’s no value add.

I see no harm in it, its always good to hear the opinions of fans of other clubs. Its not like I am trolling in disguise of a Milan fan or something.

But if you guys have issues, I can always stop.

I like reading fans' opinions from our opponents as long as based on respect on each other and logical view. They can share their thoughts in Serie A thread for example or other related topics.

What makes us annoyed is unlogical and disrespectful fans.

The opponents' fans have to adapt with the forum's environment, bashing other clubs is very normal. :D

I'd say maybe you're trolling in disguise as an Inter fan lol. Just kidding, I've seen you defend Milan quite a bit in the Inter forums when they think their squad is miles better than ours.

bluenine, you have to continue posting so that I can respond with my annual 'wait for christmas' post when you get excited at Inter's prospects by October.

But there’s no value add.

If you are tolerated outside the commode, clearly value addition is not a criterion.

Personally thought Kluivert was all hype when Roma signed him but man did he look good when he came on yday

Strootman-DDR-Pastore-Nzonzi-Cirstante-Pellegrini... that is not a bad midfield at all. Didn't realise they were this well covered

Also Toro spent quite a bit of money didn't they? they got players to chose from

Thanks for the vote of confidence, guys. I guess there will always be a few people here who don't like it, I usually just ignore their posts.

LOL. I don't defend Milan at FIF, I just try to keep it real. Same with Napoli, Roma, Lazio, etc. At FIF there is a tendency to hype up Inter, just like here some people hype up Milan. Which is understandable I guess.

Inter may look like a slightly better squad than Milan on paper, but the diff isn't as material as some people at FIF imagine. IMO the main diff between Inter and Milan this season is the coach. Spalletti is a seasoned coach, and even though he isn't world class at least we know what to expect. Gattuso is a rookie as a coach who did extremely well last season, but we don't know whether he can continue that trajectory or get found out this season. Milan's season pretty much depends no how well Gattuso does.

Which is why I am not a big fan of inexperienced coaches at big clubs, specially when the club is investing big money. That was Fassone & Mirabelli's biggest mistake last summer (more of Fassone's mistake, since Mirabelli was pushing for Conte or Mancini). When you are investing big money and need CL qualification, get a quality experienced coach (even if a world class coach isn't available). At least this way the performance is more predictable, and you can set realistic, achievable targets. With a rookie coach, its a bit like gambling and that is not wise when you are investing big money.

This will be a very interesting season. Juve probably have the Scudetto nailed down already, but the race for the remaining CL spots will be the toughest in recent memory with 5 clubs in it. Exciting times.
