@Senatore M84
Do people in USA really watch domestic football (I mean soccer) or they only think that it`s World Cup which is a real competition (like NFL)? I mean, does any cable station give ChL, Serie A, La Liga, EPL or some other games on a regular basis (without additional paying)? And how many people actually watch european football occasionally? I heard that ChL final game this year went really well on FOX with good ratings.
Forza Chicago Fire!
It's very small.
I go to sj earthquake games when I can (SJ is a 50 min drive from where I live). I got friends who are way into it, but it's by no means mainstream....
Of those people, I'd say all watch european football, and MOSTLY EPL (for obvious reasons). Theres a couple bars i frequent which are fun. Football-centric pubs which are fun, all games are morning time for me (in california) so nothing like going, getting some breakfast at 8 am and start drinking and watching 4 or 5 games on tvs....
I like it that way cause people who go know the sport. When it's world cup time, ESPN and co feel need to cover and all sorts of morons who never watch football feel like chiming in dumb opinions
as for TV.....
Fox Soccer channel has EPL, Serie A, UCL, argentine league
ESPN carried some EPL, but i don't like it... they put it at worst times, and make it last priority behind nascar
GolTV has la liga, bundesliga + brazil and random south american leagueS (love a good colombian league game on what looks like an internet feed, lol).
Whats funny is the random south america league games is how i got into watching pastore (at hurcan.. saw the 4-0 demolition of river plate and got intrigued to watch more of him and de federico) and last spring when Ganso was exploding for Santos.
oh and of course telemundo and univision carrying
FSC and GolTV are not basic cable. I pay $6 a month for the 'sports plus' package to get them. It also gives me nba tv, nfl network, mlb tv, speed and random regional sports channels. Truth isbetween fsc, goltv and nba tv... thats 95% my tv viewing
