Catania Return To Italian Serie A A 2-1 win over Albinoleffe has allowed Sicilian outfit Catania to return to the Serie A after a 23 year absence

The Sicilian outfit needed a win against Albinoleffe to beat Torino to the second spot in the standings, and a second half goal by Del Core allowed them to complete the dream.

Serie A fans can now prepare for one of the hottest derbies around, the Sicilian battle between Catania and rivals Palermo.

The third team to enter the Italian top-flight will be decided by a play-off (two semifinals and a final).

Cesena-Torino and Mantova-Modena are the two semifinal pairings.

The winners of the two-legged ties will then meet in the final scheduled for early June.

Time has come. If Torino get seat to promote, their fans will be singing out loud, jeering, taunting towards their arch rival everything in and out. A stronger petition for Juve's punishment might set ready to make up by Torino Ultras. :D

Oh BTW Del Piero looks like commited to remain though Juve are relegated to Serie B. :cool:

I would like 2 c how will any juvy fan react if torino promoted & juvy relegated ;) i would luv it :cool: it would b soooooooo sweet & i think juvy can spend more than a year in B coz they will sell all of their gd players ;)

Torino have moved a step closer to the Serie B play-off Final after drawing 1-1 at Cesena on Thursday evening.

The home side took the lead in the 16th minute when Salvetti rippled the net with an accurate free-kick.

However, Toro hit back in first half stoppage time through Longo who netted what could prove a key goal.

The return leg will take place on Sunday night at the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Toro, given that away goals do not count double in these ties, only need a draw as they finished higher in the League.

I hope Naples will promote to Seire A... But they are in C1 right now....

Right now i hope Torino will promote + i don't hope next season Seire A has Torino Derby.

No Yuchen, Napoli is promoted to Serie B, they are champions of Serie C1B, and they already bought Cannavaro from Parma and are after two or three other Seria A players :)

Torino and Mantova go to the final. The winner of this playoff will go to Serie A.

Btw did you know that Torino just got new stadium for next season...they will no longer play in delle alpi. The name of the new stadium is Stadio Grande Torino.

Mantova scored two penalties out of that 4 goals, now Torino is screwed imho, must be Moggi that wants them to remain in B so Juventus has a filled stadium for once when they play the derby next year.
