He’s a carpenter not an architect

Nigel de Jong, carpenter.

Love him.

But he's not the midfielder we need and we're not the EPL/BL team he needs.

Should be sold next summer.

Only a morron would sell a leader like de jong.

He is the best milan player this season.

But yeah, we must sell our best players...galliani logic :fp:

Awesome, much better then Balo's picks with his trousers down to his knees and cars that look like he found them in some expensive cereal box.

It's not like we have a plan that Nigel is standing in the way from..

As much as I don't like Allegri and want him fired; Nigel and Allegri football are a bad match. He's not an aerially dominant anchor, or a B2B mid. And still seems lost in a 3 man mid.

Allegri is of course not the reason Nigel should leave though. They should both leave, unless N accepts a squad role, which he of course won't and shouldn't since he's a very ambitious player.

I appreciate it.

glad to see he's adding the long pass to his game. still a bit inconsistent and mostly safe ones, but usually very accurate. shows he's not content to only be a beast at recovering the ball anymore. :proud:

De Jong: "I like to look good, but it's not like I'm always in front of a mirror. I'm not like Cristiano who is always doing his hair."

I'd understand if Nigel wants out.

He really doesn't deserve this shit.

I agree. It's pretty sad seeing him do so many great interceptions and tackles and rarely giving the ball away and still be bad for this team.

He's a very good player, but not the player Milan needs. For his own sake and Milan's, he should leave. I hope it happens in this window and in a good way, like KPB's.

He is a great player, one of the best at what he does, but he is pretty limited, and that's why he should not play in front of the defense on his own. It slows us down pretty badly. Or it could be just Allegri's tactics and that's what Allegri tells him to do.. I know it'd be better if we had a coach who could train our team some attacking movements etc because with Allegri there's nothing.
I would either switch him to RCM where he would focus on defense and put Monty at DM, or even better - switch to 4231.

0:19 just proves my point. Great run by Binho, loads of free space, Nigel sees it and does what? Turns around and passes it back to the CB's.
I don't really blame him for it, its the coach and his tactics as I already said. With a different coach we could get more out of him, just like all of our players ffs..

I think he's been doing fine but I'd rather see him at RCM and montolivo at anchor.

or both of them in a double pivot.

He is not the ideal anchor for a big team. Doesnt have the elegance nor the passing ability, he is not the guy to build the team around and we have clearly seen the results with him as an anchor. It doesnt work, he doesnt give the same speed to our game, he is the one building up the play from deep, no wonder it looks terrible.

Montolivo offers a lot more and in current squad he is the ideal anchor for this team. Just look at last season with monto as an anchor whil nigel was gone. Look against udinese on and on.

It is no coincidence it is going this way. De jong is not good enough, sorry to say that.. he should be as far aways as possible when it comes to controling the game and the pace of the game. 40% win percentage with nigel on the pitch, since he came last year, absolutely terrible.

I believe that the best role for Nigel would be rcm, covering for the rb (when he goes up) and breaking the opposition's counter attacks.
He's short and avoids making risky passes, not things you'd want in an anchor

This picture looks more like a bunch of gangster rappers from west side than a football squad. Maybe that's the problem...

Does it look like an official photo or a fun pic - you know you can do both on a photo shoot. Its obvious the rest of them were playing around taking that shot but nobody informed Birsa or he is incapable.

Why wouldnt you want guys to have fun? or do you expect them to be good little boys, towing the company line 24/7

Now if you are trying to say, that is the reason we play like crap.... then look squarely at Galliani and Allegri.

Please shut up. Montolivo has disappeared this season and hasnt shown any quality. You are looking for a problem when you should be looking at your namesake. If he cant control a ball and decide in a split second where he needs to deliver the ball then he should probably go back to Fiorentina.

De Jong, while having a lesser skillset continually proves he is on a higher level than Monty so take your bias and go.

Given that video, it's made patently clear how much De Boss needs Monty there next to him in a two man midfield. Our 3 man has 2 box to box midfielders who usually don't share possession in front of the defense, thus De Jong is left to do everything.

De Jong has been our best player of the season, hands down.
