^^^ You clearly don't see his matches ;) Everyone is treating him LENIENTLY due to his legend status but thing is, the great Maldini has become an average player.

And it sucks that his status guarantees him a starter position after injury, while more in-form players are dropped back to the bench. I can't help thinking we wouldn't have conceded this ridiculous goal with Nesta-Kaladze or Nesta-Simic in CD.

He just got back from and injury and needs more games to regain his fitness level. I dont think he is a guaranteed starter anymore and will probably only play 1 game a week. He is also a good leader and has a great influence in the team.

Paolo makes a mistake on a goal against Sampdoria and everyone is like "He's too old, slow, finished bla bla bla" though went Nesta made an absolute blunder, that even my 8 year old cousin wouldn't of made, noone says anything.

we don't live in la-la-land but that doesn't mean that we should thrown maldini away like some old garbage or some ordinary player..he is a legend..and he'll stay for as long as he wants..we'll be grateful no matter what.

and yes..it's a game of football you can't just blame one person for a bad game..everyone knows that..the first thing you learn about football actually!

now we know he is getting old :-)rolleyes:) but as long as he can play and run that doesn't matter..and as long as the milan management wants him in milan, who are we to tell them that they are wrong and that this guy should quit!?
the truth is that milan is kinda in trouble..but nothing serious

From a Milanese : grazie bella for your words! To any true Milanisti on the curva, 22 October -- there isn't a doubt that Il Capitano still electrifies the team! He embodies the authority (with his ability to metaphorically kick 'em in the rump in a classy way), motivation and dignity/grace of a team that is the most unique in Italia. :star: His influence is clearly seen after just a few minutes of watching training at Milanello.
Maldini is what us Milanisti have grown to know the Rossoneri as being! For anyone to tell him when to retire is a terrible, terrible injustice!
It also must be noted that Milan has always had the "European glory above all else" approach. RE:Champion's League, we have reason to be proud!!

On a side note: some recommended reading for any Milan supporter is definately the Milan philosophy -- short summary: lack of points at 7 Week is temporary -- creating chances and adding dimension to the style of play is permanent. It's either win with great footballing or nothing at all. Milan has never been a club about just points, points, points.

And what did we, Brigate, do after Milan-Palermo? We flooded San Siro with songs like "You Will Never Walk Alone"! Our team must always know we stand behind them! Anything less and we begin to sound like [gasp] Inter fans! :(
:star: "Even after a defeat it is important to remember all that has been achieved: since May 8, 2005 Milan have racked up a powerful 20 victories and 3 draws." WOW.

So, grazie mille again -- you have the heart of a true Milanisti and it is appreciated! :) Rossoneri siamo noi!!!!

^^^^ Of course.

If you rearrange the letters from Maldini you get 'Di Milan'. Quite freaky, yeah?

I have to thank you for your words which are so true.
Words cannot describe what Paolo gave and give the team and the fans.

I was pleased to hear that you sang: You'll never walk alone.
That's how it is. No matter what happens I will support Milan for the rest of my life. I love this club. And I'm proud to be a Milanista. :proud: :proud:

I watch the painful derby again on my VHS. After Seedorf scored, and when all the players were furious to the referee, Maldini stepped in and calmed down all the players. really a captain material. Gattuso needs to learn things like this from him instead of hitting other players hard, we're lucky he didn't get the red card at the game.

Forza Il Paolo

Maldini rejects conspiracy theory Monday 6 November, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paolo Maldini does not want to hear the word conspiracy used to explain Milan’s difficulties in Serie A this term.

The Rossoneri suffered their third defeat in four championship matches after losing 2-0 to Atalanta on Sunday, with boss Carlo Ancelotti blaming referee Tiziano Pieri.

However, the tactician also revealed that it was becoming an all too familiar story with the Diavoli this season.

“Conspiracy? I really hope that is not the case, because it would have been carried out in front of everyone’s eyes,” said the skipper.

“Of course it isn’t pleasant for us to see certain mistakes made by the referees and repeated frequently.

“We are not enjoying much luck, but we must analyse the situation carefully and work on our defence.

“We must also concentrate on the side’s attitude and try to improve our overall performances as much as possible,” concluded the defender.

In the meantime, Milan transfer guru Ariedo Braida will travel to Brazil and Argentina this week as he searches for possible transfer targets, according to Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

“Ariedo will stay in South America for 15 or 20 days,” said Galliani. “He has already eyed some interesting players, just like he did in the past with Kaka.

“Signing talents like Ronaldinho is possible when they are still at Gremio or PSG, but if they move to larger clubs like Barcelona, you can't sign them for less than £40m.”

Milan have reportedly targeted Lucas Pezzini Leiva and Evaldo Silva Santos, both currently contracted with Gremio.

The 19-year-old Pezzini, who also has an Italian passport, is set to leave the Brazilian club in January and has also been eyed by Atletico Madrid, whereas Evaldo could move at the end of the season.

I agree. I mean how can it be a conspiracy when we actually know whats going on?

that's how mature+experienced players would think, they wouldn't blame bad results to the ref..there's so much things to work on with our style of play+determination+concentration instead on pointing finger and blame to the referee+assuming conspiracy to pull us down.. :)

Don't worry about the number 3 jersey, Milan will retire the jersey as mentioned in my below post. :proud: :proud: :proud:

Galliani said years ago that Milan will retire the number 3 jersey when Paolo retire but they will keep it in stock until Christian has grown up. :proud: :proud: :proud:
I remember this statement as it were yesterday. ;)

I absolutely agree with Galliani.
Just imagine in 10 years there will be again a Maldini wearing the magic number 3. :proud:

CAPTAIN CONFIDENT
11/19/2006 5:02:00 PM
Milan had some problems in the league back in 2002-03 and then conquered Europe. As Paolo Maldini explained, the Rossoneri cannot be underestimated.

Paolo Maldini spoke to Milan Channel the day after the draw at Empoli and commented on the game. The captain said: 'It has not been a fortunate period for us, but the team have shown good unity, we remained concentrated until the final minute. Empoli are an excellent side, with quality players and they are having an excellent championship. As for us, we have taken the first forward to come out of what has been considered a 'crisis'.

'There is a thin line between scoring and not, a win and a defeat, it's just a few centimetres of woodwork, the bar or post. In the past, we have scored to break the deadlock but this year it hasn't happened and this is a problem because breaking the deadlock is decisive.'

Maldini hit back at those who have said that the side is too old: 'We Milan players are fortunate that we get on with our job without listening to those who don't know anything about football, but the coach sees what we do in training during the week. Carlo Ancelotti picks the side without showing sympathy.'

Moving on to the Champions League game at AEK Athens, the defender looked back to the past to take confidence from what is happening at the moment: 'I have to say that this season recalls that of 2002-03 when we had some problems in the league and then had great success in the Champions League.'

I think he is refering to Wild, Passion and anyother delusional clowns or Trolls around this joint.

I like the bit where he says "we get on with our job without listening to those who don't know anything about football". =)

He's an old fart with too much power + preventing squad rejuvenation. You're free to be his personal ass-kisser though. Enjoy :o

^^You're not completely wrong about the squad rejuvenation but I'll be content if he steps down this summer (like he's been saying) when his contract expires. If not, cold childhood memories of autocratic African presidents may just reinvent themselves. Hope he turns out to be of the Kaunda-Mandela fold.

Why did you fail comprehension in English?

It seems you find it difficult to distinguish a compliment and an excuse?
Not bad for a team that are in sixth place and are considered to be battling relegation. Even with our 8 points back we wouldn't be ahead of them. So what are you saying about Milan then?

Besides Maldini knows more than anyone else around here if they are good players or not, considering he is a player. =)

Yep I think they can, we should continue to blame the management + the age of our side, hey thats what you do, yeah? Hmm oh I thought you weren't one to make excuses...
